Tuesday's recall election of Republican Gov. Scott Walker is the most expensive in Wisconsin history. More than $63.5 million has been spent by candidates and independent groups, the overwhelming majority underwritten by out-of-state sources.
According to Paul Abowd of the Center for Public Integrity: "The record spending total was made possible thanks to the Citizens United U.S. Supreme Court decision, which had the effect of invalidating Wisconsin's century-old ban on independent expenditures by corporations and unions, and a state law that allows unlimited contributions to the incumbent in recall elections... While Barrett has received about 26 percent of his $4 million in campaign donations from outside the Badger State, Walker has drawn nearly two-thirds of his $30.5 million contributions from out of state, according to campaign filings released May 29."
According to the final poll on the face conducted by Public Policy Polling, a firm affiliated with the Democratic Party, Walker holds a narrow 3-point lead over his challenger, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.

I wonder if the Supreme Court has any idea of the monster they have made ? This is the end of democracy in America and if we do not over turn this it will only get worse. Have we went stark raving mad and is this all that money is in politics?Spend as much as you can as fast as you can and rail road the citizens of the United States. They do not spend this amount of money , the private donors with out expecting a hefty return. Literally politicians are for sale and there is no limit to how much you can pay for one. All most like extortion of the political system!!!!
In most sports arenas, there is advertising on the barriers around the field, eg baseball, hockey, etc. for various companies. They should do that in the Congress and the Senate. As well as having the politicians wear the insignia for the companies that sponsor them, like race-car drivers.
i could get behind that. smiles
: i am hear bring this bill up not for the american people but for myself and my handlers/enablers"
Remember when Boehner handed out checks from the tobacco companies on the congressional floor? As Rachael always says, they're not embarrassed! They're halfway there already.
i hope the american people will see thru all the republican lies , and the distorted facts they want us to believe, even there political ads are designed to trick us into voting there way , walker is a dishonest liar, just like bush , romney, boehner & the rest, they'd rather destroy our country than help make it better, follow the money, republican greed
