A Wisconsin voter received a robocall Monday night falsely informing him that if he had already signed a recall petition, he didn't need to vote in Tuesday's recall, he told Lean Forward.
Ed Tuite of Eau Claire said the call came around 8pm Monday night, and that it did not identify the person or group behind the effort.
"That would be as blatant voter suppression as I've heard," Tuite fumed, adding he and his wife weren't taken in, and voted Tuesday morning.
Tuite's account jibes with several other reports of similar calls, some of which have noted that the caller's voice sounded suspiciously like that of Tom Barrett, the Democratic candidate for governor. Tuite said the voice in his call, too, sounded like Barrett's.
Gov. Scott Walker's campaign has denied having any role in the robocalls.

This is Not Surprising - the teabaggin-gop Tactics are lower than a Snakes belly !!!!
By the Way - Republicans may go to the polls to vote on 6-6-12 ONLY !!!
ha! md. and after 9pm. weasels.
Hey KV - How Goes It ?
good, md. and btw, you've been doing a good job. (can't make out your avatar).
In the May 2011 Canadian federal election, Conservatives are accused of making robocalls saying they were from Elections Canada (the independent entity that conducts elections) and telling those who were not supporting Conservatives that their polling station had changed, and directing them to a non existent polling places. The report on this misconduct is coming out soon and might result in another election in those ridings.
There already is one result going to the Supreme Court of Canada because of electoral irregularities. The Conservative beat the Liberal by 26 votes, but a judge already found 79 votes that he thinks may have been cast by people ineligible to vote in that riding.
KV - Hey Thanx - just left click on my avatar !! It Will take you to my page and the avatar is larger - then to get off of my page click your usuall return arrow !!!
wow,how did you get a pic. of my high school principle?
John...Maybe you need a voter ID law. Check with severe of the legislatures in the US who have implemented them, they will be happy to help you out.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rp6-wG5LLqE
MD...that is a great theme song for the American people to remember heading into the 2012 Presidential Election. Obama fooled us once with the promise of hope and change....lets hope the American people have learned their lesson.
Is anybody surprised? Anybody?
Stormguy53-
Bait and switch won't work. Vote suppression has nothing to do with voter ID.
TRC...Since, according to John, 79 people voted who were not eligible to vote, it sure sounds like an ID law is need. But then again, Democrats don't think there are enough cases of fraud to make a difference in election. Maybe the Democrats should look at what John just reported on..
No, it was the Elections Canada employees who didn't realize that some street addresses were outside the riding. It had nothing to do with IDs, it had to do with inaccurate maps.
There is nothing like the voter ID laws in Canada, and this was a map malfunction and nothing more in this case. The robocall cases are the troubling ones, and Conservatives learned that trick from their American Republican campaign advisors. American Republicans know all the tricks about fixing elections, since American Republicans are the ones fixing elections on a regular basis.
Did you happen to notice he was from Canada?
John Murphy, I left you a question last night and you may have missed it. Are Canadians now getting flak from the right? I refer to Bill C-377 sponsored by Conservative MP Russ Hiebert. Is Labour being attacked there now?
You are right about American Republicans; they are amazing good at fixing elections and know all the dirty tricks. I am baffled as to why half this country wants to go with Europe's failed austerity program. Their average unemployment is 11%. It is so clearly failing, yet the GOP wants to double down on that failed policy, the very one which GWB used to cause this recession!
Hi, Pam, do you like my black swan? They symbolize rare events. Tonight we have two such events: The recall of Walker and Venus transiting the sun!
Hi, running out of registration and voting problem in Wisconsin. Not prepared for all the voters.....Of course we do not want puppet boy walker......
Went to our primary today. I have a bad cold, but need to also go to a meeting tonight, so I will not know until I come back.....This blog should be 20 pages long and not a troll will show his face....
Oh, I didn't see that.
Generally, private members bills fail because if they had support of the party they would be proposed by the party, not a private member. The other day, Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper, the Conservative whip, and 155 of the 164 Conservative MPs joined the opposition to table (i.e. drive to the bottom off the order paper) a Conservative private member's anti-abortion bill, for example. Bill C-377 is about public disclosure of union spending, technically not doing anything to limit unions. In all likelihood, it will never get out of committee or have amendments to neuter it if it does get out of committee.
The percentage of unionized workers in both the public and private sector in Canada is about 4 times the percentage of unionized workers in the United States. In some provinces, even Walmart is unionized. The unions that have been forced to binding arbitration with legislation to end strikes are those deemed "essential services", rail, air, and postal employees.
Regarding the robocall allegations:
There are more than 20 ridings involved in the robocall investigations. The Conservatives only have a majority of 12 seats. If more than 12 ridings were to flip in byelections, Conservatives would lose their majority (ie. they still have more seats than any other one party, so they'd still be the government, but the total of opposition MPs in the 4 other parties would be greater than the number of Conservative MPs). That would put Conservatives back in a minority government position, and rein them in a lot .
From an article in the Globe and Mail:
Harper is a Conservative, and thought to be a fundamentalist Christian (although religion is off limits in debates and campaigning), so he is only THOUGHT to be a fundamentalist Christian.
John Murphy, I see. Thank you so much for some really good information.
Our government is totally broken and corrupted by money now. I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel anymore. It will be very hard to repeal Citizens United, even if the political will was there to do so. The GOP has been hijacked by the extremist right ideologues and they are in control now of virtually all legislation in congress. They are taking this country in the wrong direction and most Americans are too blinded by propaganda to see it. Hence, we have become a nation of people who willingly vote against their own best interests.
They are determined to repeal "Obamacare" (Not that it is a good insurance plan, but it is at least a start). If they succeed in this, 30 million people will immediately have NO health insurance.
They call that progress.
Welcome to the dark underbelly of your neighbour to the south.
Another flashpoint that Harper's Conservatives avoid like the plague is Canadian health care.
It is a political fact in Canada that the easiest way to win an election is if you can convince voters that YOUR OPPONENT would change Canadian health care to an American style system.
Any Canadian politician branded with wanting an American style health care system is politically dead (as occurred with Newfoundland Premier Danny Williams, after going to Florida for heart surgery - really for a February golf vacation during his rehab, not anything health care related -.... almost as soon as he got back in Newfoundland, there was so much pushback that he resigned before his own party could drop him).
I'm quite familiar with the United States, since I have a several cousins down there, and worked for part of seven years there (for a Canadian multinational corporation). I was based in Canada, but half of my work week was in Canada and half of my work week was in the United States (paying US taxes and Social Security on the 3 days a week I worked in the US and Canadian taxes and Canada Pension on the 3 days a week I worked in Canada).
John Murphy, Thank you for the response. Hope to see more of you around Ed's blog. Have a good day. We are having lovely Fall-like weather here in the Pittsburgh area today. Hope your weather is pleasant as well.
I am sure you know by now that the Walker recall has failed. I wish I were surprised. It is a harbinger of things to come. PA and neighbouring Ohio are both union states. We now have a Republican governor and legislature.
It is troubling. My husband is a strong, lifelong member of a union.
15°C, 60 in American, since the United States is not only the only industrialized nation not to provide health care to all of it's citizens, but it is the only industrialized nation not to use the metric system.... LOL. It's been 18°C to 23°C most of the last couple of weeks though.
When I said a 3 days in Canada and 3 days in the US, a work week is actually 36 to 40 hours in 3 days and 3 days off.
I watch Ed's program more often than I come on this site. Canadian cable systems have all US networks (and all US news networks) as well as all Canadian networks (and Canadian news networks), so we Canadians know more about the US than most Americans know about Canada, because few American cable system have Canadian networks (except border places like Burlington Vermont, which has Canadian networks on it's cable system).
The gamers of Fear and Foolish are out to discourage---one democrat running for Sheriff in Fort Worth was not on my Democratic ballot but his signs were posted around the polling place
i'm not surprised either. no matter how the vote turns out the whole country sees what's going on with all THE REPUKES AND THEY'LL GET THEIRS IN THE END
OOoo They had better cover their fannies - hey !! Ha Haaa !!! Those GOMERS !!!
Liberals think if they can cover up their bad ideas and failed policies like we see in the Senate with flowery names then they can get it passed the minions, aka "trying to polish a turd and call it candy". Americans are more intelligent than the wacko Liberals give them credit for. God bless our citizens!!
Republicans like Scott Walker thinks he can lie and use dirty tricks to get himself into office then cheat and lie and try to destroy the state of Wisconsin.....so he can go on and help the right wing destroy the rest of the company. Yes, we are more intelligent than you give us ..... by the way......you are the one who uses the name wacko. So I agree.
Oh Ed this is not surprising, this Walker is a cheater and buyer of position, not earner.
I feel for the people of Wisconsin, and other states that are starting to reflect the abuse of power in government and in really in every big institution.I'm very glad that there are people like you showing the details of what is going on there.
You are great, and more.you saw this problem from the start and you keep on supporting the people of Wisconsin.
Thank you for them and thank you for help the meddle class. All respects for you an awesome person. :)
This is the usual thing. It seems that since 2000, the Repubs don't dare take a chance on winning an election honestly.
That's because since 2000, THEY HAVEN'T.
Coming from Liberals that supported ACORN voter registration fraud as they signed up cartoon characters, dead people, felons, illegals, etc. LMAO!!
Republican sabatage and lies destroyed Acorn. So you can take this junk elsewhere and spread like stink.....because that is all it is. If you don't have that information you are not informed about anything. I'd be trying to wash that smell off if I were you. Just find the truth but of course you are not interested in truth are you?
Walker and his goons will lie cheat and steal to keep him in office ! He gives a 21st century meaning to a Crooked politician! This is the template of what they will do come November to steal an election!
Get back in yo' high heels there ed, 3 hours to go... you plenty of time to suck down a bottle scotch or two.
stupid, Why are you always so RUDE and PERSONAL ?Do you want the country to go to the top 10 richest in the country? Seems you are not concerned that they will own you as well!!
Who will own me???
Slavery is over with, haven't you heard?
As to the rude remark, ed is as rude as they get. He has done his fare share of back paddling.
Furthermore if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen...
stoop, you're in our kitchen, remember. when did this blog become a right wing one?
This is a public blog...
You liberals/socialists would like nothing more than for the right to go away..
I heard that they want to get rid of Min. Wage So they can pay any amount of money they see fit to pay the workers like say 2 cents an hour or 2 cents a day !!!!! That's the Right Wing Nuts for you !!!!!!!!!!
I would think that it shouldn't be too hard to figure out where the calls are coming from. I mean, how many people have the kind of software and data bases necessary to make robocalls?? Seriously, now!
Ed, you need to keep on letting the people know about this!
That and *69.
If any voter is stupid enough to believe that, they have no one to blame but themselves.
Of course, being fair and objective, you would NEVER blame the callers.
Just like Zimmerman, eh?
What does Zimmerman have to do with this?
and I did blame the caller in another post...but thanks for playing.
Suppressing robo-calls instructing voters who signed the recall petition that they don't need to cast a vote. The typical immoral cheating republican party at its best, Florida all over again. Where's the outcry from their own constituents when they are busted before the world to see, this is clearly a shameless party.
Coming from Liberals that support ACORN and committed Recall petition fraud leading to this recall election. Oh, the irony and hypocrisy. The entertainment never ends!!
Still spreading it? You must be the entertainment, and side show.....
Nah T-Mom, Whackoff wouldn't have a thought is his pea sized brain if it wasn't for Fake News.
Is it really that hard to believe that some troll out there was doing this for his own entertainment and it had nothing to do with either candidate in the election? Everyone here is at least computer savvy enough to get to the blog. Are you telling me you've never run across computer viruses and malware before? It's the same thing, or at least the same mentality that masterminded it. One person with the means and equipment messing with people for fun. Take off your tinfoil hats and quit ranting about massive right-wing conspiracies.
Says the right-winger.
Where is the outcry from the left about the false rumors being spread regarding Walker being under federal indictment and about him being the father of a child from another woman?
Don't throw stones...
Just saying...
Yes, god forbid someone with different political views than your own urge people to use common sense instead of accepting whatever crackpot theory you want to support. After all, the more that people think for themselves, the more they might come to their own conclusions and disagree with you. Oh, the horror.
Why don't you try it some time?
I did. That's why I read bills up for a vote in their entirety, and I participate in elections based on my own opinions after conducting serious research instead of thinking some "big evil group" is sitting together in a cabal somewhere and plotting to make my life more difficult.
Instead of accepting people with different views and acknowledging it when people present empirical evidence to back up a statement all I've ever seen you do is resort to name calling and sarcastic dismissals of anything other than your interpretation of any given event. And I'm actually a little ashamed of myself for sinking down to your level on more than one occasion.
That's okay, John. I've been ashamed of you for much longer than that.
NEWS FLASH:::Wisconsin at 5:19PM CST
Tea Party voters are failing to vote because they have been blinded by not heeding warnings by scientists to take proper measures while observing the transit of Venus across the sun!
They are placing the blame on the liberal scientists and that it was a dirty trick.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!
Indeed! WOW!
The planet Venus passing in front of the sun is not a new thing!!!
I realize it is news to you.
Trust me, it has been going on for billions of years now!!!!
wow! really?
Hilarious! I hear that the rapture is going to occur on July 4th at Mt. Vesuvius. Everyone should gather at the summit, join hands, sing one last chorus of Dixie and jump in at twelve noon sharp!
No, I hear that Venus passing in front of the Sun is really due to Global Warming or is it now called Climate Change, right Al Gore? LOL!!! I think Conservatives call it Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.
For those who were lucky to see that. Most all of us will be gone it won't happen again for over hundred years. There are things in this universe who are more amazing than we will ever be!
XXXOOO #12 Have they realized yet that it is Obama's fault that they are blind?
Yes, India, it slows everyone down so we can be sure and mark in OBAMA's name.
Notice how the ed show finds these on the fringe people...
Remember that nutcase with the civil war hat on last fall, one of the occupy knuckle heads ed had him on the show a few times...
That whole thing faded faster than a cheap lawn chair.
I am betting the ed show will not be around in 6 months..
Stupid , you sound like you are jealous of Ed. or do you just don't like someone telling the PEOPLE the TRUTH of whats going on in this country!!
Stupida, Your right Ed will be gone and Mitt will be the president elect and all the libs will cry all the way home
Jealous of a failed want-to-be pro ball player??? LOL.........
Tea Partiers calling the occupy movement fringe players! Now that's hysterical! Especially when they're criticizing THEIR funny hats! You guys should do a comedy act!
Why would we be jealous of a dog killer and wife beater???? I know those are important credentials for Liberals...
You mean as opposed to a VietNam draft dodger and a LDS Bishop? Sure these are great qualities for the Commander-in-Chief. Just what I want to lead my military. NOT!
And wife beater? I think you're confusing yourself with the President aren't you?
stupidita, be careful of wanna-be pro ball players. After all, if Fidel Castro had a better curve ball he would have made it in the majors and there would have been no communist Cuba.
If what???
stupidita, Fidel Castro was rumored to have come to the US as a young man to try out as a pitcher for the Washington Senators. In fact, they had men on the old PBS baseball documentary series that discussed his tryout. He was not good enough to make the majors and went back to Cuba, where he later became the man we know today. So again, don't be so quick to dismiss a would-be pro athlete. You never know what the rejection might help turn them in to.
John, When addressing stupidita, you need to type slowly and be VERY, very clear.
And don't further confuse her with the facts. It is unlikely she knows who Castro is, anyway. Ask her if she knows who Stephen Harper is.
What's with this weird people who wear wigs carry flintlock rifles and dress up like its 1776?
And declare,"The Amerciains are coming the Amerciains are coming!
http://www.poconorecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20120605/NEWS90/120609938/-1/NEWS
The Republican party.
Yes, the TRUE Americans are coming to kick the far left Socialists/Communists and other radicals out of power and to the curb. God Bless the Tea Party movement that supports the regular citizen tax payers and middle class while providing opportunities for the poor vs. making them comfortable being poor and dependent on the government. Scott Walker's new reforms are WORKING for ALL citizens in Wisconsin. Thank you Scott and the GOP for fighting for the poor, middle class and job creators.
#14.3 OMG That was so funny....ROFL! Do you actually believe this sh#$?
No, he does not, and he knows it is not true. He just like to spread the stink.
The above was meant for Wacko, but India got in the way.....xxx look what a train of post you got. They were blinded by the right, not the sun.
Thankful mom, LOL! I'll try to stay out of the way! Maybe I, too, was blinded by the right! I did start to read one of their insane comments!
I almost fell on the cat laughing over that comment about how Scott Walker cares about the poor...ROFL!
75% of Walker's campaign money came from out-of-state. 75% of Barrett's came from Wisconsinites.
And until I see accounting records for both campaigns to back that up both of those figures came straight out of your ass.
And all of your remarks come from yours. That's where your mouth and brains are located.
Better that than the excrement and bile coming out of your mouth on here most of the time.
Do you ever read your own posts? Or are you too embarrassed?
Do you ever look at the other articles on the blog? Like the one just put up with a chart that said Walker got 66% outside funding and not your mythical 75%? Not that I trust the pie chart there fully, but even Ed's producers just put up something that said you were full of it and were making up numbers to make yourself feel big.
Ed's producer's wrote me a personal message? I doubt it.
Nice switching the subject when it makes you look bad. Anyway, to continue to your new subject:
Election a national referendum on public sector unions
By Paul Abowdemail
6:00 am, June 3, 2012 Updated: 3 hours, 51 minutes ago
While Barrett has received about 26 percent of his $4 million in campaign donations from outside the Badger State, Walker has drawn nearly two-thirds of his $30.5 million contributions from out of state, according to campaign filings released May 29. Walker has outraised Barrett 7 ½ to 1 since late 2011, though Barrett didn’t enter the race until late March.
http://www.iwatchnews.org/2012/06/03/9039/wisconsin-recall-breaks-record-thanks-outside-cash
What switching the subject? The pie chart that refutes your latest BS is the newest article on the Ed's blog. There's a nice big picture of it, in fact. I assume his producers find this stuff since I doubt he has time while he's in Wisconsin watching the recall election. Or do you think he manages the whole show himself with just a cameraman and a laptop? Granted, it was probably an intern or something that found the chart and the producer that authorized putting it up, but the message was the same. You are a full of crap.
TRC can't provide objective sources to back up his fantasies, but that won't stop by the left from coming up with new excuses for their pending loss this evening as Americans turn their backs on the entitlement class of citizens that want to redistribute THEIR wealth while the Democrats and their public government union bosses rape Wisconsin tax payers for excessive benefits. National labor unions funded Barrett's campaign.
Ha Ha Ha! This is a guy who believes the Bush economic policies worked! He believes the Ryan policies have worked for Greece, Spain, England, Italy and France! Ha Ha Ha! Go to school dude! Take a class in economics or at least learn some facts! Ha Ha Ha!
Fight hard, fight clean.
I'm sure all of you have noticed how the right wing cult has had their Wacko minions regurgitating the same old party lies. Nothing original, no big picture thinking, no compassion or empathy, and a clear eat-our-own attitude toward the least amongst us. Simple finger-pointing, name-calling, and other usual petulant, sarcastic, acrid, and vile verbal cut-and-past secretions. No adult or mature thinking with any depth, just shallow parroting of the same rancid black and white hash talking points they've heard from their small thinking obstructionist pundits. Birds of a feather ...
It's hard to think that people have been so dumbed down to believe the 1% are actually looking out for the interests of the remaining 99%.
republicans are anti-constitutionalists for what they are doing to the voters. Everything they have done has been voter harassment, intimidation, deceiving and lying in all fronts to the recall. They need to be prosecuted. Would not be surprised if they commit fraud or manipulate the vote to their favor. I hope that Justice Dept is monitoring closely the procedures and results of the tally.
It looks like there's a lot of guys on this post that have serious father-issues with Ed Schultz. There is no other way to explain such putrid posts. Grow up and deal with your crap somewhere else.
Ed is a very decent well meaning person who loves his country, and is willing to stand up for those who do not have the same avenues to voice their opinions.
Thank you Ed for all you have done for Wisconsin.
Penis envy would also explain conservatives posts as well as sexual frustration, ever notice conservatives drive big vehicles and are gun nuts, both symbols of the less endowed.
x- good one- do u think Barrett will pull it off?
Let's face it - when guy's are commenting on the quality of other people's avatar in this comment space - that pretty well tells you everything you need to know about MSNBC's demographics.
This was done by the left and the right predicted something like this would happen.
