The top spokesman for the Democratic National Committee told Ed Schultz Wednesday that his party needs to make sure voters this fall know exactly who's behind the massive flood of corporate cash that's set to boost Republican prospects.
"We've got to expose the evildoers," the DNC's Brad Woodhouse said.
Woodhouse suggested Demcrats might have done a better job of drawing attention to the outside interests who poured money into the Wisconsin recall on behalf of Republican governor Scott Walker.
"We need to make sure people know, why are the Koch brothers interested in whats going on in Wisconsin?" he said.
He added that Democrats also planned to use their superior organization and turnout operation. "[Republicans] have no ground game, and we're gonna exploit that," he said.
That might not sound too encouraging to Democrats. Many Walker opponents pointed to the Dems' supposed ground advantage before Tuesday night, but it ended up making little difference.
Still, Woodhouse pointed out that the size of the spending advantage that Republicans enjoyed in Wisconsin—seven to one, by some estimates—is unlikely to be repeated in November.
"It's one thing to be outspent one and a half to one or two to one," he said. "You can't be outspent seven or eight to one, and I don't think there's any chance that President Obama's gonna be outspent seven or eight to one."
And asked by Schultz about Obama's struggles with white working-class voters, Woodhouse went after Mitt Romney for his record as a private equity executive.
"Mitt Romney's not the person to attract those votes," Woodhouse said. "Mitt Romney was laying those people off to profit for himself and for his investors and for his partners when he was at Bain Capital."

Woodhouse ignores the ability for the Right to be extremely creative in their "facts" and MSM is, too often, overly polite and allows them to openly make their statements without any serious challenge. Not good for journalism, even when it shows balance. The Republicans have moved the center farther to the Right than it has been since the very early '50s, and, too much of news media have moved their balance point (center) further to the right than it has ever been in their lives. MSM needs to establish its' own middle point and judge comments from that position - towards both sides of each issue.

Please look at the vote totals for Scott Walker. It seems Walker beat Barrett bya big percentage. Looking however, not at the percentage between the two candidates, but at the actual vote toals, there were three candidates running. When the actual votes cast between Walker and the Independent my memory is that more people voted to recall Walker than actually voted for him. Isn't it true that 13,000 people voted for the independent. When combined with the Barrett vote it looks like more voted to recall Walker than voted to retain him. Was it the presence of the independent third candidate that actually caused the rentention of Walker. If this is true why is only the vote percentage against Barrett reported?

I hope all you righties that love bashing unions understand something. The majority of fire departments have volunteer firefighters and first responders. Volunteers are under no contract to do anything. But they pay attention. I don't know about your area, but we went through some of that crap a few years back. Some rural farming communities are ALL volunteer. After the righties, many farmers, voted against the bond measure to support the fire departments, there were wild fires that summer. Had more "controlled" burns than usual. No life threatening, only a couple houses, but those volunteers didn't like getting sh*t on. Something to think about.

The lesson of Wisconsin is simple: GOP campaign contributors must be exposed by Democrats. The donors of Super-PACs need to have their names printed on the front pages of newspapers across the country. Journalists need to go asking tough questions about the motives and operations of these large corporate donors. Journalists must investigate everything that these donors do. Why not get these tax returns of these large donors and print them in the newspapers? What bills or laws have these contributors benefited from in return for their campaign donations? The GOP is run by oligarchs who consist of the one percent. The rich and the corporations are the main campaign contributors of the GOP. The more publicity they get the worse it is for them. The Republicans bought the recall election for Walker, who outspent Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barret by a whopping seven dollars to one.
Our democracy is up for sale by the corporate special interests thanks to the Citizens United case. We are essentially electing our government based on the whims of rich corporate oligarchs. Our democracy has become a sham. America is a plutocracy that is autocratic imposing its will upon society. No candidate can win when they are outspent seven to one by large corporate oligarchs who have unlimited funds. Walker gave about $2.5 billion in tax cuts to the rich and large corporations. The rich and large corporations contributed about $50 million for the Walker campaign. We have had record corporate profits of two trillion dollars in 2011. 2012 will have have similar profits made by large corporations many of whom pay no corporate federal income tax. The Bush tax cuts have been in effect for over ten years. According to GOP supply side economics, we should be at full employment right now. Instead we have about 8.2% unemployment and an underemployment rate of about 18.1%. The GOP filibustered over 400 bills over the last three years that would have helped create jobs. The GOP has blocked jobs bill after jobs bill that President Obama has put forward. The GOP only wants to defeat President Obama at any price. It is also important to remember that GOP President Bush started two wars and gave out two huge tax cuts that created trillion dollar budget deficits and the worst recession since 1929.

President Obama can not create jobs without the GOP House passing spending bills for infrastructure projects and job creation initiatives. Johnny - Yes I know you and I want progress, but doubling down on GWB's policies by electing a guy that has been called out by his own party as well as the Dems for putting people out of work for personal gain is not what I am willing to do. The GOP sunk over $50 million in Walker's recall election campaign so he could keep his job. Walker himself raise over $30 million but another nearly $20 million came in from outside conservative groups and donors known to be associated with conservative Super-PACs. The Democrats have control of the Wisconsin Senate so more radical GOP damage is not going to happen. So Walker gets to sit in a Wisconsin Governor's chair over a state that is so polarized and divided not much of anything will pass the legislature. Walker grossly overreached his position and now his party lost control of the Senate. Democrats hate this man intensely and nothing he proposes will pass.
Was busting up the public unions worth it? Wisconsin is near the bottom in job creation so save the cock and bull stories about giving tax breaks to the "job creators" will create middle class jobs. Actually, Walker gutted the public school budget so millionaires and corporations could get $2.5 billion in tax cuts over ten years. America needs all the engineers, mathematicians, scientists, teachers, and highly technical skilled workers for the jobs of the 21st century. The U.S. must compete against the BRIC countries. China alone will produce 100 million cars over the next seven years. India will build or buy many tens of millions more vehicles. Walker's right winged agenda is a prescription for the decline of America and the rise of Asia. Only a stupid "flat earth" conservative fails to understand the implication of a global economic system. America needs more green energy, bullet trains, state of the art infrastructure, and more resources for public education. "Flat earth" conservatives, like Walker, are lost in the 1950's when America was the only hegemonic power. Those days are gone forever and we live in a multi-polar world where Asia's decision and industrial growth will soon surpass America. Idiots like Walker do not understand any of this because he is too busy performing the equivalent of political fellatio for his plutocratic campaign donors. Walker does not have the interest of the public in mind but only his corporate donors.

More than two-thirds of Walker's money came from outside of Wisconsin. While about three-fourths of Barret's money came from within Wisconsin. These are not your Main Street Wisconsin conservatives who provided the bulk of Walker's money but large corporate oligarchs and multimillionaires from out of state. The oligarchs who run the Republican party bought this election for Walker. This recall was not an election it was an auction. America is a is a plutocracy and no longer a democracy. This recall election was not an election it was an auction sold to the highest bidders in the American plutocratic structure. A prostitute in the street has more moral character than the corporate donors who gave to Walker's reelection campaign. We are losing our democracy and the plutocrats have gotten $2.5 billion in tax cuts for their measly $50 million dollar investment. Like I say prostitution is a more honest business than the American Super-PAC donors of the GOP. Just ask "Family Values" Senator Vitter, who is very knowledgeable in these matters.
Has the left ever considered that they are a minority as most polls indicate? Is it possible that the results of the election was a repudiation of the policies of the left rather than a scheme hatched by a minority of right wing extremists (who by the way did not initate the recall)? Could it be the voters looked at the numbers and decided that fiscal restraint was necessary for the state to function? Could it be the real nincompoops are not the evil doers they are the people some see in the mirror before they accuse the other side of being nincompoops? Breaking up the public workers unions was not something Governor Walker talked much about during the campaign. Governor Walker also signed legislation that was anti-abortion, anti-women's health, and he also cancelled a much needed bullet train from Chicago to Milwaukee. I saw bullet trains first hand in Europe and they are what we need here in America. The BRIC countries are rising industrial powers. Soon China and India combined will consume nearly as much oil as the United States does. The problem is that there won't be enough oil to go around because most experts believe we have reached peak world oil production long ago. Governor Walker is living in a world that is devoid of facts and information. Walker is the puppets of the corporatist elements who are pushing a radical right winged agenda. Go read about ALEC and how ALEC coordinates right winged policies at the state and local level.
"Flat earth" conservatives like Walker are setting America up to fail. Without substantial investments in green energy, state of the art infrastructure, universal health care, public and higher education we all face impending deterioration of our living standards. America has to compete for every single job and new company start up against the challenge from the BRIC and Pacific rim industrialized countries. Governor Walker is a puppet played by his corporatist masters. The right winged agenda of the conservatives is setting America up to fail its children. Conservatives live in a parallel universe where peak oi, global warming, and the competition from the industrialized BRIC countries and Pacific rim countries does not exist. This imaginary universe is not only the road to nowhere, it is the road of doom and disaster for America's children and their future. God have mercy on America's children because the BRIC countries will show none for us in the global economy of the 21st century. All the jobs and high tech companies will go to Asia and America will turn into a giant cesspool filled with poverty, slums, and angry unemployed people while a few at the top own everything. This vision is Walker's vision for America.

The GOP is suffering from cultural lag. You never hear Romney speak about international economic challenges caused by the BRIC countries and the Asian Paciific rim countries that are industrial powerhouses. The GOP just thinks America is the only hegemonic power in the world just like we were in the 1950's. The problem is that it is now 2012 and GOP policies are much like Herbert Hoover's policies of the 1930's. The results will be the same: the decline of the American middle class.
