By now you've probably heard of Sheldon Adelson, the GOP megadonor who at first backed Newt Gingrich but now may be readying to pony up as much as $100 million to defeat President Obama.
Discussion about Adelson's motivation for backing the Republican Party usually rotates around two things: his support for Israel's government and his opposition to labor unions. But a new investigation finds that there may be a third motivation: saving himself from a Department of Justice investigation.
PBS Frontline and ProPublica have found that Nevada and federal investigators are looking into Adelson's extensive casino business in Macau. Included among the investigation are possible violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, which Adelson may have run afoul of by directing legal fees payments to a Macau legislator.
"[Adelson] is the guy at the heart of this mess in Macau, and the federal investigation into it," mused MSNBC host Rachel Maddow. "If you were that guy...how much would it be worth it to you to get a brand new Justice Department installed in Washington?"

For a "pro-Adelson" Justice Dept., that would be corrupt enough to ignore Adelson's "alleged" corruption - that would be Priceless!
However, just being successful in buying the Presidency for Mitt would not be sufficient. He's have to also buy enough Senate races to get a Super-Majority of the Senate that shares Rand Paul's political philosophy - with a Libertarian anti-government attitude, in order for the appointees for AG and other Justice Dept. positions to get confirmed by the Senate.
I don't think there are enough anti-Obama/pro-Romney votes for Adelson to get his way, especially when most Americans aren't as naive as to accept what the educationally-challenged Limbaugh, or his similarly prejudiced cohorts at Faux News, have to say as if it were the "Gospel Truth." And Romney's arrogant decision not to release any additional tax returns will just induce those who are pro-Obama and those who are undecided about Romney to dig where they can.
This is EXACTLY why we need to vote this time STRAIGHT DEMOCRAT this election. These people need to know we will not allow them to usurp our process because if we do allow it, then it will never end. The choice we make will change our future so we MUST take that more seriously than standing by a party. This country is about to be hijacked by corporate America who has found the recipe to purchasing a company..buying our congress. If we do not want to give up this right to vote, we MUST fight back and bring balance bask to our government. It is a time to fight so we ALL are allow to have our voices heard. Otherwise we will be a dictatorship, and once in office, I suspect the laws will be changed that every effort possible will be repealed and additional laws to prevent losing the majority ever again.
I really think that this current crop of Republicans and their agenda need to get smacked down hard by total Democratic power for awhile. I would not want to have no balance, but they need U.S. civics lessons. They say "Constitution" as if it were total Republican/egalitarian agenda and the lowly worker should be lucky to have any low wage job from the grace of the rich and powerful. The women are to be submissive and follow the men, for they know better than women what's what. That has to be rejected, but the misinformation is flowing and emotions blame Obama.
I just hope that people will see the shaky ground ahead. Truthfully, we have to straighten out this economy, but not by allowing the rich to keep pocketing more and more so they can hide their money from taxes and NOT hire Americans.
The tax rates of Clinton did balance the budget, but that was before global corporations, NAFTA and GATT took the jobs offshore. Business people can blame American employees for only so long, because without jobs we won't buy much. No growth in laying off U.S. employees. They think many many low wage jobs on foreign lands will make up for the loss of wages here? Not even to mention the loss of revenue, which causes deficit and debt to remain.
I cannot stress enough how important it is for voters to act against this agenda of buying our government. Do not reward their behavior, reject it. Then tell the Democratic elected they must also reject the money influences. It is poisoning our democratic process.
That is the sad truth, we must vote in an overwhelming number of Democrats so the voters can discipline the Republicans into abandoning their desire to bring the entire country down so they can profit.
They must see the people reject their buying of government so they can run amok in the U.S.A. That is interesting, one of them, Adelson spending millions to skirt U.S. laws, so he can take Chinese money and send it to Israel.
Well, WW11's Hitler created a huge, huge mess which we still deal with. How can we let this man, who hates unions (workers) destroy our system of government so he can further enrich himself? I cannot understand how the American people can turn a blind eye to this. It does nothing for the general population of America to further enrich the rich.
They must see and hear the voters corrections loud and clear. It's what we have, if we don't have money. Voting these royals out, fight money with votes.
I hope this costs Sheldon Adelson costs every dime he has, and Obama is still elected. Adelson should be in a prison somewhere that does not serve kosher food.
Adelson and the GOP and Wall Street know the Avenging Hounds of Hell are coming and a day of reckoning is in store .... unless the GOP takes control of Washington. Psychopathological predation is the heart of the shark.
Wall Street is a den of sharks, in office towers. The GOP is owned by the sharks. The GOP needs a Congressional and Presidential coup. That's the deal, and Romney is a Wall Street shark, with an aw shucks manner, who may also want to save his own hide. Romney doesn't want to allow the world to see into the heart of the shark. Romney is a predator. He's hunting the Presidency.
You can bet that anything on which Rachel Maddow reports is skewed in a radical Leftist way.
MSNBC even uses Obama's slogan in its heading - "Lean Forward." You can expect unbiased reporting here. Not.
