In a new interview with the Hoover Institute, President Bush talked about how he likes life as a former president.
"Eight years was awesome, and I was famous and I was powerful. But I have no desire for fame and power anymore," he said.
He added that he thinks it's bad for the presidency to have former presidents inserting themselves into the conversation. "I don’t want to undermine our president — whoever’s president — and a former president can do that. … Either you’re in or out of politics... you can’t be halfway.”
We here at Lean Forward thought the quote itself was awesome… and started constructing a little lunch time “match the quote” game for your entertainment.
Can you match the individual to the quote?
1) Cannot people realize how large an income is thrift?
2) It is better to be feared than loved, if you cannot be both.
3) Corporations are people, my friend.
4) Would I rather be feared or loved? Both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me.
5) I have made the tough decisions, always with an eye toward the bottom line. Perhaps it’s time America was run more like a business.
6) With great power comes great responsibility.
7) There’s really no sacrifice in serving the country, particularly if you love the country like I do. But if there is one, it’s loss of anonymity.
8) Oh, people can come up with statistics to prove anything… 14% of people know that.
a) George W. Bush
b) Machiavelli
c) Michael Scott, The Office
d) Ben Parker, Peter Parker's uncle on Spider-Man
e) Cicero
f) Mitt Romney
g) Homer Simpson

What worries me is that this man was elected President twice. Therefore, another GOP candidate with all his money offshore, can be ready to flea the US after he takes this country to its knees once again.
Dubya proves that fame is defined by anyone who has suffered the delusion to see themselves as a legend in their own mind. However, I have most certainly learned how to dodge shoes from the all-time best shoe-dodger and this is where Dubya will always remain an inspiring figure to me. There is nothing more I could, nor should, add about his tenure as president which has not already been said or written.
Probably the last tough president we'll see for a while. Rather Romney or Obama wins we'll still have a sissy in office. Didn't agree with all the Bush policies but I liked the fact that he didn't sway much due to political pressure. We might as well cover the world with egg shells for the next few terms.
