At a surprise press White House press conference on Monday, President Barack Obama called the Romney campaign's claims about his welfare policy "absolutely wrong."
He started on the subject after he was asked about a controversial negative ad by the pro-Obama PAC Priorities USA. The ad blamed Romney for the death of a woman who didn't have access to health care. Obama said he did not approve of the ad or agree with its premise.
“In contrast, we’ve got Governor Romney creating, as a centerpiece of his campaign, the notion that we’re taking the work requirement out of welfare," the President said. Romney recently released his third ad slamming Obama’s welfare policy, quoting a Richmond Times-Dispatch editorial the called Obama’s welfare policy “nuts” for allegedly loosening welfare requirements. The paper later admitted that the facts used in the editorial were false.
“Everyone who has looked at this is saying that Governor Romney is absolutely wrong," Obama said, "And Governor Romney is approving it and saying it on the stump!”
“What is the Romney campaign doing talking about welfare?” MSNBC contributor Richard Wolffe incredulously asked Ed Schultz on The Ed Show Monday. “We’re not talking about the underlying premise that any opponent, any sane opponent would try and dig up, which is an alternate economic policy.”
Romney's campaign “is the 'me too' campaign," he went on. "Every time they get an attack from the other side that works, they’ve got to come up with one of their own.”
Obama also commented on Romney’s refusal to release his tax returns.
“I’m not asking him to disclose every detail of his medical records—though we normally do that as well,” he said. “This isn’t overly personal. This is pretty standard stuff. I don’t think we’re being mean by asking you to do stuff every other presidential candidate has done.”

Obama should have just left the reforms Bill Clinton and the GOP put in instead
of quitely changing them and trying to say it was an improvement. Obama never
like the reforms they put in from the beginning and said so. It's also makes the
jobless numbers less when these people are not counted.
President Obama is not making changes.
He is allowing States, who think they have a better WAY to achieve the SAME goals, to give it a try.
Obama is running a campaign full of lies trying to stay away from his records, because his economic plan is a failure. We had the worst economy after the great depression , but the worst recovery in history. 14 % in real unemployment numbers, almost 6 trillions of dollars more in debt, negative economic growth 1.5 % compare with population growth, it means we have a lower average income. Record number of welfare recipients, record number living below poverty, No confidence. There is no energy policy other than give money away to crony capitalist and Chinese industries to produce batteries for electric cars, Obama is against oil industry, coal industry, nuclear industry but favor the GE wind turbines made in China. Foreign policy is a disaster, helping radicals to take down tyrants , taking down an evil to replace for a worst evil, and throwing under the bus our best ally Israel, demanding to go beck to their 1972 borders. Divide and conquer is the way Obama can win this election, we are more divided than ever in history . Obama call Republican his enemies, attack Congress all the time because they don't do things on his way, attack Supreme courtall the time for the same reason, use the DOJ to pick and choose what laws to support, he prefer an absolutist kind of governmennt rule by Executive powers because he do not believe in Democracy.
Then back in reality none of your post is factual, well you did spell Obama's name correct but thats all you got correct.
Well given the fact that you have the largest number of Americans on some type of Gov't support it is fair to say obama is doing what his planhas been, which is to make all citizens reliant on the government.
You can not blame anybody else, this is his economy and his policies that put us here after 2 years of complete control of the government before the people spoke up and put the Republicans in charge of Congress to stop the madness.
They will speak again shortly in the Presdiential election when they turn his sorry butt out of power and back to community organizing.
Delusion
A delusion is a belief held with strong conviction despite superior evidence to the contrary.[1] Unlikehallucinations, delusions are always pathological (the result of an illness or illness process).[1] As a pathology, it is distinct from a belief based on false or incomplete information, confabulation, dogma, illusion, or other effects of perception.
Delusions typically occur in the context of neurological or mental illness, although they are not tied to any particular disease and have been found to occur in the context of many pathological states (both physical and mental). However, they are of particular diagnostic importance in psychotic disorders including schizophrenia, paraphrenia, manic episodes of bipolar disorder, and psychotic depression.
Ann says.....look what Obama has done for this country.....that makes it really hard for my husband to make it work for the cooperate world.
Here it is ! The most complete list of The 244 Accomplishments of President Barack Obama. This special list was compiled by Robert P. Watson, Ph. D., who is a presidential historian and Professor of American Studies at Lynn University. As some falsely claim " he hasn't done anything "....as you can plainly see by the incredible list, President Obama has OBVIOUSLY accomplished more in just 20 months than most president's have in 8 years. And there's MUCH work still ahead...which is why it is of VITAL importance that we work hard, through Unity...to make sure that EVERYONE we know votes on November 2....to LITERALLY Save America ! So ................. ho-lee-cow ............ what kind of trees do oranges grow on?
Oh great, the fake black man who pretends to be a full-time musician when he isn't pretending to teach calculus and misspelling English, one of the five languages he uses an internet translator to pretend he knows, has reprinted the 4 statements he posts 20 times a day.
How's it going, Rob?
Hook line & sinker.
Next math tutoring is a night gig same with playing live music.
And the facts are over 8% unemployment for over 42 months, over 12 million people out of work, over 41 million people on food stamps.
You liberals just hate the facts & truth.
Never once said I speak 5 languages.
Like shooting fish in a barrel.
Now hurry up.
Holy crap, lets see the teabaggers run on their record number of filibusters obstructing the recovery out of this recession. And where are those jobs boner promised?...Dumbasses
It's interesting to see republicans complain about problems their ideology created and then offer no solutions to solve those problems and expect people to believe or respect. Neo-conservatives hate critical thinking, they shun it. They demonize it. Romney has no plan for the economy.
Supply economics has, will, and can never work. Taking more from those with less to vive to those who do not need it is an unsustainable system.
Your plan has been tried and failed. Zero taxes increases. Not a dollar currently being payed more and don't cite the uncertainty you republicans are creating with gridlock possibly or in the future doesn't matter here. Government worker pay freezes. Loss of hundreds of thousands of puclic sector jobs. Banks still do as they please. That is your plan and that is what we are living under now. Come up with real ideas. I'm still waiting for the romney plan. I can't get a single one of you people to answer that question. Why is that?
Which, everyone of the govenors who asked for those changes are REPUBS !!!
Okay, Mr President, please tell us your specific plan to save medicare and start an economic boom to bring us out of this failing recovery. America is listening with all ears.
To start with we have to replace the repugnantcan obstructionists in congress. Their tactics have slowed the economic recovery. They don't care how much the working class suffers. They just obstruct and blame the president.
Re: #2
Those of us who ARE listening - with open ears and MINDS - have heard the specific plans.
The ACA has extended Medicare, without gutting the benefits. Medicare will be saved long-term when then entire health care system is saved - which the ACA has started.
The President's jobs act is the kind of stimulus that Paul Ryan BEGGED others to support in 2002.
FORHEYLOOKOUT-- sure thing , you said look were losing the working class. Wait until the Obama care kicks in/ POOF no more working class.
Fore
Tell me when President Obama cross party lines , to work with Republicans in Congress when he was Senator. Obama vote party line all the time 100% support from leftists groups. Republicans are his enemies , Republicans will sit in the back of the bus, those are his words. Stop lies about Republicans obstructionist.
President Obama's healthcare plan was a compromise, originally backed by republicans until President Obama proposed it.
Republicans are obstructionists!
Test
fore,
you are CORRECT.
THE INDIVIDUAL MANDATE-a repub idea; thought of and supported by CONSERVATIVES.
mark pauly an originator of the individual mandate under the h.w. (daddy) bush administration is ashamed of the repub party for their failure to support President Obama's health care reform. pauly is embarassed that repubs acted like they never HEARD OF THE INDIVIDUAL MANDATE.
repubs found the individual mandate "constitutional" before they decided it was "unconstitutional".
Obama's Health Care plan start bipartisan until Obama decide to lead the conversation, then it turn in to partisan. Obamacare pass with Democrats votes only, twisting arms, trading concessions like "Louisiana purchase", and threatening with isolation to any Democrat that vote against it ,even without reading the bill.
Then there is reality where the facts show you are lying. But hey you are a republican so lying is like breathing to you.
whom, any one who disagrees with you is lying? Why not open the mind that God gave you and try to see the other side.
Or, get out of the barry kool aid pool and dry off because your reasoning and posts are all wet....
Nope when tea bagged republicans come in here and post GOP lies and fake outrages that is not a disagreement that is done to flame the blog. That you are one of those offenders you try to lie and say you are offering a different opinion, when fact is you have no opinion the Fox news didn't give you. You are not innocent victims you are the cause of your problems.
Well, there you go again, young whomitmay; You do know that MSNBC does not even pretend to show both sides of an argument; They are 100 % on the left, cheerleaders for the left. Do you know what the word objectivity means ? Can you honestly say that MSNBC is honest, and objective ? According to MSNBC, Republicans have never been right about anything, and Democrats have always been right about everything. Can you even see just how ridiculous this is ?
Don't even try to compare Fox news. Fox just isn't on the left, and only the left.
Finally, if you think Obama's economic plan is superrior to Reagan,s well, then you are either lying, uneducated, retarded, or all of the above.
Now this is personal, you call me lier, name calling typical Democrat. Where are your facts, Obamacare was crafted behing doors, no transparency.
Montana Democrat Senator Max Baucus is often called the “author” of the ObamaCare bill. But it says a lot about how Washington, DC works when the “author” of a piece of legislation admits that he never actually read his own bill because, in his words, “we hire experts” for those menial tasks.
One such surprise is found on page 158 of the legislation, which appears to create a carve out for senior staff members in the leadership offices and on congressional committees, essentially exempting those senior Democrat staffers who wrote the bill from being forced to purchase health care plans in the same way as other Americans.
Obama approve waivers for the people that support Obamacare.
Of the 204 new Obamacare waivers President Barack Obama’s administration approved 38 are for fancy eateries, hip nightclubs and decadent hotels in House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s Northern California district.
That’s in addition to the 27 new waivers for health care or drug companies and the 31 new union waivers Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services approved.
Pelosi’s district secured almost 20 percent of the latest issuance of waivers nationwide, and the companies that won them didn’t have much in common with companies throughout the rest of the country that have received Obamacare waivers.
Said by lying tea bagged republicans who never saw a lie they wouldn't repeat.
Ann, says to read the law....it is a lot like mitts....that is not fair, now my husband has to deny he had anything to do with it....."You People"

Title I. Quality, Affordable Health Care for
All Americans
This Act puts individuals, families and small business owners in control of
their health care. It reduces premium costs for millions of working families and
small businesses by providing hundreds of billions of dollars in tax relief –
the largest middle class tax cut for health care in history. It also reduces
what families will have to pay for health care by capping out-of-pocket expenses
and requiring preventive care to be fully covered without any out-of-pocket
expense. For Americans with insurance coverage who like what they have, they can
keep it. Nothing in this act or anywhere in the bill forces anyone to change the
insurance they have, period.
Americans without insurance coverage will be able to choose the insurance
coverage that works best for them in a new open, competitive insurance market –
the same insurance market that every member of Congress will be required to use
for their insurance. The insurance exchange will pool buying power and give
Americans new affordable choices of private insurance plans that have to compete
for their business based on cost and quality. Small business owners will not
only be able to choose insurance coverage through this exchange, but will
receive a new tax credit to help offset the cost of covering their employees.
It keeps insurance companies honest by setting clear rules that rein in the
worst insurance industry abuses. And it bans insurance companies from denying
insurance coverage because of a person’s pre-existing medical conditions while
giving consumers new power to appeal insurance company decisions that deny
doctor ordered treatments covered by insurance.
The Secretary has the authority to implement many of these new provisions to
help families and small business owners have the information they need to make
the choices that work best for them.

Title III. Improving the Quality and
Efficiency of Health Care
The Act will protect and preserve Medicare as a commitment to America’s
seniors. It will save thousands of dollars in drug costs for Medicare
beneficiaries by closing the coverage gap called the “donut hole.” Doctors,
nurses and hospitals will be incentivized to improve care and reduce unnecessary
errors that harm patients. And beneficiaries in rural America will benefit as
the Act enhances access to health care services in underserved areas.
The Act takes important steps to make sure that we can keep the commitment of
Medicare for the next generation of seniors by ending massive overpayments to
insurance companies that cost American taxpayers tens of billions of dollars per
year. As the numbers of Americans without insurance falls, the Act saves
taxpayer dollars by keeping people healthier before they join the program and
reducing Medicare’s need to pay hospitals to care for the uninsured. And to make
sure that the quality of care for seniors drives all of our decisions, a group
of doctors and health care experts, not Members of Congress, will be tasked with
coming up with their best ideas to improve quality and reduce costs for Medicare
beneficiaries.
The Secretary has the authority to take steps to strengthen the Medicare
program and implement reforms to improve the quality and efficiency of health
care.

Title V. Health Care Workforce
The Act funds scholarships and loan repayment programs to increase the number
of primary care physicians, nurses, physician assistants, mental health
providers, and dentists in the areas of the country that need them most. With a
comprehensive approach focusing on retention and enhanced educational
opportunities, the Act combats the critical nursing shortage. And through new
incentives and recruitment, the Act increases the supply of public health
professionals so that the United States is prepared for health emergencies.
The Act provides state and local governments flexibility and resources to
develop health workforce recruitment strategies. And it helps to expand
critical and timely access to care by funding the expansion, construction, and
operation of community health centers throughout the United States.
The Secretary has the authority to take action to strengthen many existing
programs that help support the primary care workforce.

Title VI. Transparency and Program
Integrity
The Act helps patients take more control of their health care decisions by
providing more information to help them make decisions that work for them. And
it strengthens the doctor-patient relationship by providing doctors access to
cutting edge medical research to help them and their patients make the decisions
that work best for them.
It brings greater transparency to nursing homes to help families find the
right place for their loved ones and enhances training for nursing home staff so
that the quality of care continuously improves. The Act promotes nursing home
safety by encouraging self corrections of errors, requiring background checks
for employees who provide direct care and by encouraging innovative programs
that prevent and eliminate elder abuse.
Finally, the Act reins in waste, fraud and abuse by imposing tough new
disclosure requirements to identify high-risk providers who have defrauded the
American taxpayer. It gives states new authority to prevent providers who have
been penalized in one state from setting up in another. And it gives states
flexibility to propose and test tort reforms that address several criteria,
including reducing health care errors, enhancing patient safety, encouraging
efficient resolution of disputes, and improving access to liability
insurance.
The Secretary has new and improved authority to promote transparency and
ensure that every dollar in the Act and in existing programs is spent wisely and
well.

Title VIII. Community Living Assistance
Services and Supports Act (CLASS Act)
The Act provides Americans with a new option to finance long-term services
and care in the event of a disability.
It is a self-funded and voluntary long-term care insurance choice. Workers
will pay in premiums in order to receive a daily cash benefit if they develop a
disability. Need will be based on difficulty in performing basic activities such
as bathing or dressing. The benefit is flexible: it could be used for a range
of community support services, from respite care to home care.
No taxpayer funds will be used to pay benefits under this provision. The
program will actually reduce Medicaid spending, as people are able to continue
working and living in their homes and not enter nursing homes. Safeguards will
be put in place to ensure its premiums are enough to cover its costs.
The Secretary has the authority to establish the CLASS Program.

The Act makes health care more affordable for families and small business
owners by providing the largest middle class tax cuts for health care in
American history. Tens of millions of families will benefit from new tax
credits which will help them reduce their premium costs and purchase insurance.
Families making less than $250,000 will see their taxes cut by hundreds of
billions of dollars.
When enacted, health reform is completely paid for and will reduce the
deficit by more than one hundred billion dollars in the next ten years.
This title will be implemented by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Title X. Reauthorization of the Indian
Health Care Improvement Act
Quit wasting everybody time. You haven't received the BILL yet. WOW
Typical tea bagged republican believes he controls the blog.
Yea so what. Love to breath free air.
We all know that the Lidertarded get angry when one shows them the truths, why they prefer to live in its small world of lies, being flattered some to others without nobody them bothering. Libertarded are the ones that believe they own the truth. Everybody knows how wrong they are. They drink the kool-aid of lies so they can believe what they say is truth. Pathetic.
@daveydog4:
Do you own a copy of "The Audacity of Hope written by B. Obama in 2006?
So ........... Davydog4 ............ would I be better off trying to teach my dog how to do algebra than to debate you?
Obummer scare
sec 1500 as in the number of jobs heading off shore all thank to the tax obummer scare puts on medical mfg's.
Go read about Cook Medical and the 5 locations they now are not going to build sending all 1500 jobs over seas.
Thanks Obummer, way to stand behind American companies and American workers.
Hoax & Chains killing all growth.
You mean all the tax breaks the teabaggers give corporations to sends jobs overseas don't you? You ppl live in a constant state of confusion.
Dems had a bill to stop that just like with corporate welfare for iol companies. Republicans fillibustered.
Repealing Obamacare results in an increase of over 100 billion in federal defecits and removes medicare reforms estimated to save over 700 billion dollars while raising costs on seniors to roughly 12000, 6000 more than under the Obama plan. This produces a medicare bankruptcy under the ryan plan in 4 years as opposed to 12 for Obama.
Well why don't you explain how robme hood is going to do it by using the same polices as GWB used.
@ Metoo999 Are you kidding me? What is it with your stubborn refusal to understand that Pres Obama NEVER made any changes to take away the welfare program's work requirement? Several governors sought permission for a more flexible welfare program. Pres Obama gave permission for more flexibility, but with the stipulation that they must move at least 20% of welfare recipients from the welfare rolls to work rolls. Why is that so hard for you to understand?
And, you know what? This is exactly why Romney/Ryan continues with their various lies. They know that the many lunkheads in their party will happily swallow anything. I wonder if this is also why Republicans are always so eager to cut down on education costs: a stupid electorate is an easily manipulated electorate.
@Diane
You are correct. The governors of Utah and Nevada specifically asked they are both republicans and not their offices have put out carefully worded statements exclaiming that they did not request the service which is an outright lie. The republicans are stooping to unprecidented levels to make Obama look 'unethical' but in reality its they themselves looking 'guilty'.
They spun a web and now they are trapped in it.
I do declair, you people don't know any thing about taxes, so why should you be reading our returns....all we want to do is run your country for you. You don't deserve any rights. That is how Ann puts it.
No good business man ever signs their name to a document if that document says "signed under the pains and Penalties of Perjury." I think Mitt was lying in 2002 and that he knew the his Tax Returns had Utah as his primary residence.
But, even if, in 2002, Romney did not know that the IRS form required his signature under the pains and Penalties of Perjury." He, and Ann Romney sure as hell knew that's what their signatures represented on their filed IRS 1040 as of June 18, 2002 and forward.
So Ann, looks like you lied when you said, strong>"I--I'll be curious to see what's in there too." And that is a big effing lie. The more angry Ann and Mitt lie about their filed IRS Tax Returns, the more I distrust every word they say about their secret Tax Returns.
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/08/16/1120677/-Ann-Romney-is-an-Angry-White-Woman-Caught-Lying-To-NBC
He didn't change any requirements. Try reading it.
How convienate for Obama that he didn't. This is as funny your people's stupid you didn't build that campaign. Oh no how could he say or do that..outrage(fake)!!!! That's because he didn't say or do that LOL!
Requirements were not changed more importantly the fed actually has always had the power to issue waivers that states can apply for to help their specific situations after meeting a list of criteria like having an apporvable plan to increase employment in their state. The waivers are legal and are not given they must be applied for and earned otherwise no waiver. Just that simple. Did I lose there?
Which one is a real legal issue when you're running a presidential campaign? Furthermore whether you think it or not there's nothing to prove he received this alleged scholoarship. If it is federal there are records that one can comb through or of who ever offered it. Next you don't know the criteria thus it is easily possible many people would be elligible who you might not suspect so it is equally if not more likely than your theory.
Finally which set of documents is it traditional to release without whinnig when running for president? Who else was asked to release their transcpripts? If it is fair to ask Obama then shouldn't Romney also have to release his school records too? How is it fair to ask one candidate to release two sets of documents, one which is never traditionally a part of any presidential campaign so other guy can only have to release one?
Of course if Romney would release a real plan for the economy no one would be talking about this in the first place
Problem is it's not illegal nor has it been. They've always had the power to do that and the executive has done it before. The major criticism of the federal welfare reform law was its lack of flexibility thus they included this to give states more powers instead of just throwing an unbeatable blanket over everything.
www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2012/aug/07/mitt-romney/mitt-romney-says-barack-obamas-plan-abandons-tenet
Too bad politifact is non-partisan and is used by conservatie sources as well. It is quite reputable if you believe otherwise you may want to explain why they call democrats liars as well as republicans. You are simply trying to deflect from the article you did not read to float your own lie. You claim it is illegal, fine prove it. Show where the fed has no power over these block grants. Which by the way has been done before.
Not only does the fed have to power to issue waivers they will not issue them to any states that do not submit plans to increase employment. The work requirement has not be substracted. The authority is established and has been use before contrary to your fictional beliefs. In Michigan for example at the height of the down turn the state's economy was so bad before the auto-rescue there were no jobs available to many of the people seeking them. There was no work to be found under the rigorous and rigid authority none of those individuals could have gotten any aid. If you can not see how that is a problem you're more stupid than even I could imagined. You would contend that people who have no oppurtunity to get a job should be denied all aid, they should just starve quietly? Well no story short the state applied for and was granted a waiver and the program worked.
Deny this fact if you wish but utter no ore pathetic foolish until you show where the fed has no waiver authority or how people could be doing nothing and receive aid when the state won't be given any waiver unless they have a reasonalbe plan that does increase employment if they don't the program dies. Nothing. Waived no more.
You don't actually know what the TANF program is. You keep pretending the law has changed when in fact the law has not been you don't just have no idea what it says in the first place.
Keep believing lies and fiction as you so choose. However the preise that you who is making the affirmative claim that Obama is changing the law has not been proven by any evidence. You like to say they didn't say it was legal, although actually they where did they alleged it was illegal to begin? Your logic is akin to the birther ideology that even though no one has given us any reason to think Obama is foreign that this means nothing. Conspiracy. Yours is a half lie half conspiracy, all debunked myth.
You may think you know this law or the constitution well guess what
A block grant is not the property of the states when the money is in fact federal. Thus no conduct is regulate that belongs to the states the money is the fed's thus they have all the right to regulate it. This is why we have section 1115 of the SS Act this gives them the ability to deal with section 402 of TANF. No work requirements are being waived. No state submitting a plan that they believe would end up having people sitting on the couch receiving welfare oney will be granted any waiver to have a more individual management of their program.
As politifact, not left wing unless giving the pants on fire rating to Obama and numerous other democrats is rooting solely for them, which you did not read discusses.
Guess those people should get no assistance because they need to have too any hours of learning english than the law allows since in your world there should and can never be any waiver to federal block grants............
Provide a shred of evidence to support your claim they can not under section 1115 of the Social Security act issue waivers for state plan outlined in section 402 of TANF
One may argue it is bad policy but there is nothing you have or can cite to show that it is illegal. This merely advances the cause of state's rights with the goal of creating a more efficient government. Prove your clai with affirmative proof as is your responsibility in this debate.
Section 1115 in the world we LIV in, well I apparently LIV in as opposed to you, allows them to issue waivers to section 402 of TANF which is what they intend to do
Waivers are not granted by congress this is some you have made up. The state has to apply for a waiver, don't you think that would be a conflict of interest for the reresentatives. This assertion falls flat on face like the rest of your argument as bogus. Section 1115 of the Social Security act grants them this authority to issue waivers to items contained in section 402 of TANF. If you'd read section 1115 of the SSA you'd see that even the word "congress" is virtually absent from the entire section. Section 1115 notes that it is the power of the secretary or cabinaet official not the legislature to review, grant and investigeate maethods to assist in making welfare more effecient. Not congress. You cna continue to deny that but as I have made quite clear with numerous explanations and specifics contained within the law itself. This is the power of the executive.
Each time I slam with reality you invent a new bogus explanation to back up your lack of facts. Cite the portion of section 1115 of the Social Security act that notes that congress alone has waiver authority as you claim. As I asked many many times and each time you fail to do so because you can't it isn't in there.
I'm done wasting my time. It is clear you will reject whatever reality placed before you and substitute your own. You're a fool who isn't calling anything as it is but as you wish it to be in the face of overwhelming logic, fact checked facts to save your ego and appear to less of what you are, a gullible fool.
pubs.aeaweb.org/doi/pdfplus/10.1257/jep.14.4.165
even the conservative National Review blows your bogus claim about the Department of Health and Human Services not having waiver authority and this is congress' power and they're are against Obama on the issue. Not even people on your side of the argument display your mega-bs assertions
www.nationalreview.com/corner/309300/obama-ends-welfare-reform-we-know-it-robert-rector#more
Now we're getting somewhere now the problem with that arguement is that the work requirement can't be waived which is why it isn't the intention is to
As they note
Now if you'd read their proposal you'd know they have no intention of waiving anything but section 402
So you're entire assertion that anyone will be receiving welfare for no work through this is entirely false. This would be akin to declaring SB1070 intentionally designed to create racial profiling, there is nothing within the statute itself to support that thus unless it occurs there's no real basis to declare this is the case.
They haven't changed any of the waiver application requirements. Again you fail. But you actually read it for once. So that counts for something.
Alright dumbass lets makes this clear no law has changed so you've gone back to that unsubstantiated claim. They have no desire nor intention to give anyone a welfare check for not working if you'd read you'd see that these waivers are requested for unique circumstances. If you need too many hours of education you fall into this sort of donut hole where schooling is counted as work but too much schooling isn't. You claim the opposite with no proof.
The HHS can't waive section407 lucky they have no intention to.
It is clear you have made up your mind and so you've declared that they are waiving the work requirement and no one will convince you since you know what the HHS' opinion is more than they do. Again have you ever considered that they don't want to waive 407? No of course then you'd have to make up another bogus claim.
First you say it's changing the law, you got smacked down there.
Then it was they want to change the entire law, got your ass handed to you with facts again
the it's that they can't grant any waivers
then it's only congress can grant waivers
and you had a priceless epic fail with both of those comments as well
Here is what the administration has said
It's a shame you're too dumb to understand the section you quoted disproves your claims on the power of HHS, congress, and the administrations intentions.
The HHS has a legal responsibility to pioneer new approaches and methods of dealing with welfare.
Based on what evidence? Are you a psychic by chance since your entire argument is predicated on the belief which is in direct and blatant contradiction with the memo they released. Perhaps you can read their minds but the rest of us can not and thus in light of zero evidence don't anyone to be convinced.
People post facts neo-cons respond with an ever expanding list of bogus conspiracies and then cliam the other side is being divisive.
You said they were changing the law. That didn't work.
You said they wanted to change the law. That didn't work either.
Then you said no one can issue waivers. That didn't work.
Them you said only congress can issue waivers. That was bull@!$%# too.
Then you went back to saying they want to change the law. Didn't work the first time didn't work this time either.
Now your sauing they want to issue waivers to sections they've said they have no intention of waiving.
Face it you got got your ass handed to you in this debate because you have no evidence. It's clear you worship the ideology of the american taliban(the tea party) and only seek to lie, distort, and the divide the nation in the hopes that one day you'll be able to destroy all governance in the U.S. In my day we called that treason.
Quick question is it the reading or the understanding it part that you have so much trouble with? In case it's the latter of the two "other than" means not including or limited to
P.S. I have never once applied for any welfare assistance ever.
www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/ofa/policy/im-ofa/2012/im201203/im201203.html
Where section and verse
If they are in fact changing any requirements why does the memo say specificaly this:
Tell do you think of these stupid things you claim before you type them? You are a perfect example of the fact you can't fix stupid. You are stupid because it is clear you are a glenn beck worshipper who lives in a world of sinister conspiracies behind every.
We will have this debate and like now you will have your ass handed again with facts.
People post facts neo-cons ignore evidence to support their ideology.
If you'd pull your head out of ass I wouldn't have to keep reminding you what a gullible idiot you are
The phrase "other than" means not included or limited to. Under section 1115 that you tried to cite in your bogus claim gives them tis power to do so. The social security act established the dep. of health and human services as well as several others that are given a legal obligation to explore more effective programs to all welfare. The HHS does and has in the past used this power, in this case it is with TANF whose goals are contained in section 407 not 402 and thus aren't to be waived. Section 402 requires including definitions of work activities and engagement, specified limitations, verification procedures, and the calculation of participation rates
Really because the last sentence in the evidence you tried to muddy with your tea party conspiracy denialism says literally the opposite of what you just claimed. Do you think about these dumb things you type before you post them?
Do you realize that what they just said was that they will not issue any waivers to weaken the work requirement? I'm curious as to how you apparently can read their minds magically because that would be the only way you could claim to know what their position is in a way that directly contradicts their own words?
The power they have is similar to the GOP bogus voter fraud id laws......no matter what happens you have to show id to vote.......just as no matter what here if you want welfare you will do some form of work......the legislation is not specific and thus that allows legal wiggling room and rightly so. HHS and the SSA state that they have a legal duty to explore options so long as they meet the goals laid out in the SSA section 1115
directly from section 1115
They have, can and should use waivers where effective a task which the HHS department has the legal responsibility to do
407 defines work as
You are dead set on the fictional idea that the law is being changed it is not. The waiver authority from the SSA has been with the HHS from its beginning. Thus it is a path already allowed under the law so to explore new programs which will not change the existence of any requirement are quite legal.
Watching you try to dance around reality is most entertaining especially the part where you keep making things up and I keep smacking you down with real facts everytime.......but that's right neo-cons don't believe in fact checkers
Americanvoter 1---Want college transcripts because in oder to enter into Columbia and Harvard University must have a 4.0 PLUS GPA, Obama never had. So acceptance had to be by other means. Smells like fraud to me. You want Romney tax records simply for a distraction due to Obama Chicago Style Community Organized Activist Presidency. Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson style. To make it simple, his record sucks.
hemi - I think you are missing some spark plugs...don't go away mad, just go away.
392 hemi,
If Obama's scholastic achievements were so "unsatisfactory", how did he become head of the Harvard Law Review? Are the heads of Harvard Law School in on some conspiracy? As well as the State of Hawaii?
Obama is to smart for people like 392 hemi. He need to go back to tabloid news.
Na na Gents Prove it, show them. No more BS, prove. Just like Romney about his taxes. Your nothing but losers. After his review with the press yesterday he's basically washed up. He couldn't give one straight answer. POOF Bring out the TRANSCRIPTS. Come on BRAD show them, pull them out. After you can pull that out of your AS-S then lets talk about, about FRANK MARSHALL DAVIS. How Obama was influenced by card-carrying member of the Communist Party U.S.A, and who all accounts indicate was Barack Obama's closest role model and mentor. And always was under surveillance under the FBI. WOW. Think about this BRAD. When you don't own the tool, the tool is less productive. WOW. And thats where Obama socialism begins. Do your really want to go there chump? I can pile it on. The man never made a honest buck in the private sector.
You cronies wrote book staying off topic. Let's talk about Obama transcript to Columbia University. Let's talk about Professor Richard Andrew Cloward a socialist at Columbia University that inspired Obama toward his political views today. How to take down U. S. corps by taxation, which he's trying currently. Unemployment, you haven't seen anything yet. The Government can implement 100% taxation legally as long as it applies to the WELFARE of the people. That means BRAD you'll eat beans if Obama tells you too. Thank God for the Republican house it won't apply.
A non issue followed by an made up assumption then exaggerated, Followed by no substance GOP talking points, yep typical misinformed person with lots of fake outrage from watching Fox news and right wing talk radio.
yea sure thing, Im a fox news lover. I'm a little farther in the game than you are.
How did Bush get into Yale with a C average? Bother you any?
Nope he is just a run of the mill flamer. Who lets his ego get in the way of any sense he might stumble across.
snore......... I'm tired of 392 hemi's rants which are meaningless and wrong...typical of a republican...
TheRealChris- Red Alert Another Obama Crony stunt. Where not talking about Bush, don't care. Were talking about Obama. SHOW YOUR TRANSCRIPTS. AT HARVARD AND COLUMBIA. WHY IS HE EVADING THE QUESTION. ROMNEY SHOWED 2 YEARS OF TAXES. IT WAS LEGAL- GET IT- NOW-- NOW.
ifor1- good now go away.
Romney hasn't shown 2 years of taxes. He's only showed part of 1.
392. Maybe it would be a good idea to LEARN a few things. You haven't believed one word anybody has said, 2 of President Obama's college professors, on video, talked about his college achievments. You don't believe them. You don't seam to care the GWB spent millions to get daddy Bush's Presidential records sealed for life. Why? I think what a President does is much more important the college records, which have NOTHING to do with the job or the country. Whe you grow up and want to get some facts, then maybe, just maybe, you'll start seeing what is important. It damn sure isn't college records.
Romney is not playing it straight on this one.
Obama is working with states to try and innovate around welfare reform, giving the states latitude to customize their programs while operating within the general bounds/metrics of work requirements, benefits, etc. This is exactly the kind of reform that we need, and one of the rare instances where I think Obama is doing something right. It's a shame Mitt can't stick with his core messages around the economy, taxes, etc. and instead feels like he has to go out on a limb with a non-issue like this.
@The Red Dog
Its a 'dog whistle' its a signal to people who are of the mind set that all blacks (including myself) live off their tax dollars... When the actual statistics state that the vast majority of people on welfare are 'caucasian'...
Going straight to race. Why? Why can't this place have a debate on an issue without injecting race, when it's not the issue?
Mitt is trying to make it look like Obama is undermining the very successful welfare reforms of past administrations, when he's not. I don't believe Mitt is doing that because it has anything to do with race. He's doing it because he wants to paint Obama as being "big" on expanding social welfare, big government, big programs. If that's the point that Mitt wants to make, then point at REAL issues, real programs, real spending that Obama has done. Don't make stuff up. This issue is MADE UP. There is plenty of kindling if Mitt wants to make the case that Obama is a big government guy. He doesn't need to lie about this.
But it's not about race. And when you go there as your default position, you make yourself the racist.
Romney should be most proud of "his own success in building Bain Capital from scratch into a successful organization with a great reputation that met a significant payroll and provided a service on which the economy absolutely depends." Over 28 years, the firm has boosted income at the companies it backed by $105 billion, creating thousands upon thousands of jobs. To attack Bain, you have to attack all of private equity.
President Obama's arrogance and hypocrisy revealed itself, yet again, when he chastised Congress on its refusal to cut subsidies for Big Oil.
He seems to forget when he went to Brazil and handed a $2 billion subsidy to develop its oil industry,. It was supposed to bring "cheap" oil to the U.S. and lower the prices of domestic fuel.
It did, in fact, help update and develop Brazil's oil refining and exploration capabilities. And China, not the U.S., is buying all of it. It's another failure added to what is getting to be a very long list of them.
From Solyndra, to Fast and Furious, QE1 and QE2, Cash for Clunkers and Obamacare, one has to ask, The $16 trillion debt limit will be reached Sept. 12 of this year, and Congress will raise it again, and the nation's credit rating will take another hit.
.
The price of crude is projected to reach $150 per barrel, which will put gas prices way over $4 a gallon by November. All three will be hot topics in the upcoming election in November.
And they will be counted as this administration's
LOL robme hood bought Bain with daddies money you were already presented with those facts which you then disregarded because you claim to be a big wig that has inside knowledge of robme hood and Bain.
well you have the FLOOR, prove me wrong.
XEPTDX - Nobody said Romney bought Bain capital. Again are you trying to change the subject because of Obama poor track record. lets talk about how obama exposed classified information of the military for his own politcal favor. Spiking the football JUST WENT FLAT. OFFICERS IN THE MILITARY GET COURT MARSHALED, I WONDER WHAT WE THE PEOPLE SHOULD DO ABOUT THAT. IGUESS THATS OK.
XEPTDX - whomitmay is a douchebag and an idiot. If there was a global "ignore" function here, he would disappear.
I particularly love is claim on "facts". His facts are quite formulaic - a combination of teabagger, some juvenile play on "Mitt" or "Romney", a reference to Reagan perhaps, and "you're a poopy pants" to tie it all together. It's been a while since I've done any coding, but I've given some serious thought to writing my own whomitmaybot. Would be quite simple. Very limited vocabulary and sentence structure you'd need to work with in coding it.
Says the guy who brags about his self importance on a blog.
whomitmay - this is not a blog. This is called a message board. A blog is something different. I have a blog, but I won't point you to it out of fear that it becomes filled with vacuous "you're a poopy pants" comments.
There's a difference between bragging, and citing your specific areas of knowledge/experience to support a point you're attempting to make. I note that in the 1,000,000+ posts you've made here, it is quite impossible to discern a single skill, accomplishment, or pedigree of any form that might inform your opinions. I keep trying to discern some small glimmer of who you are from the stream of "you're a poopy pants" comments, but try as I might.... nothing surfaces.
Redog........whomi is nothing more than a drive-by insult. He drives by and throws out an insult and speeds away. Of course hes getting his orders from Ed,Edd & Eddy!
RED DOG Douch Bag, I'm a Douch Bag, WOW, That Hurt. Obuma has one hell of a track record of success. Say it aint so Joe Biden WOW. For those who only hear about these failing companies one by one, the following is a list of all the clean energy companies supported by President Obama's stimulus that are now failing or have filed for bankruptcy. RED DOG, THIS IS FOR YOU---The liberal media hopes you've forgotten about all of them except Solyndra, but we haven't. Evergreen Solar SpectraWatt Solyndra (received $535 million) Beacon Power (received $43 million) AES' subsidiary Eastern Energy Nevada Geothermal (received $98.5 million) SunPower (received $1.5 billion) First Solar (received $1.46 billion) Babcock & Brown (an Australian company which received $178 million) Ener1 (subsidiary EnerDel received $118.5 million) Amonix (received 5.9 million) The National Renewable Energy Lab Fisker Automotive Abound Solar (received $400 million) Chevy Volt (taxpayers basically own GM) Solar Trust of America A123 Systems (received $279 million) Willard & Kelsey Solar Group (received $6 million) Johnson Controls (received $299 million) Schneider Electric (received $86 million) That's 19 (that we know of so far). We also know that loans went to foreign clean energy companies (Fisker sent money to their overseas plant to develop an electric car), and that 80% of these loans went to President Obama's campaign donors. YOU HAVE ANY COMMENT. PROVE ME WRONG! THIS SOUNDS LIKE THE PLAY BOOK CLARA MCCASKELL WROTE. BY, BY CLARA. WHEN JOHN BRUNNER REPLACES AKMIN.
392 hemi - are you whomitmay? I called whomitmay a douchebag, because he is one. I don't know you from a hole in the ground, and I don't label/generalize like others around here.
The federal government has NO BUSINESS investing in green energy, or ANY energy. It's a stupid policy. It fails to produce value. It distorts markets. It puts government in competition with the private sector. It's a horrible use of taxpayer money.
In any portfolio you'll have winners and losers. The federal government has gone into the private equity business spending YOUR MONEY. They've decided what to bet on, who should win, who should lose. They're deciding what business models have merit, and which don't, based on some changing political winds and the priorities of the party in power. So Obama's private equity fund (otherwise known as OUR MONEY) has some winners, and some losers. Great. Throw darts at the stock page and you'll come up with a mix of winners and losers. All it proves is that you can throw a dart.
Bain Capital on the other hand invested THEIR money, Mitt's own PERSONAL money. He also had winners and losers. If you want to look at an ROI (that's return on investment) for Bain Capital Partners, and compare that to the "Friends of Obama Politically Motivated Slush Fund" (FOOPMSF), constructed using TAXPAYER MONEY, then I would enjoy seeing that comparison. Of course no such ROI calculation will be made for the FOOPMSF, lest we all realize what a purely partisan political cluster f*%$ it is.
How can anyone "PROVE YOU WRONG!" with a list of companies? What are you asking to be "proved wrong"? I'll tell you what is WRONG. The very idea that the federal government should be in the business of making investments in private companies to promote a political policy using YOUR MONEY. THAT is wrong. If 100% of the FOOPMSF investments were winners, it would STILL BE WRONG. Of course they're not. They're largely dogs, politically motivated investments to support Obama's supporters and the "green god" of clean energy. What a bunch of crap.
392 Hemi - I just re-read your post. I mis-read it obviously. I thought you were listing WINNERS and supporting the idea of investing in "green" companies. Obviously I was off. Sorry.
Red Dog: The U.S. is a mixed form of capitalism where government is partnered to big businesses in many industries. The concept of free markets are mental models used in basic economics classes that work good at the local Main Street level where goods of one kind can be easily substituted for other goods readily. When one trader sets a price that is too high the potential buyer can go look for a lowered price good or a substitute good to buy at a lower price. These sorts of free markets worked on the frontier or for local communities where merchants could haggle with local farmers trading livestock or grain for certain goods. The money economy got started for real in the 19th century once infrastructure started changing American society from a bartering, agricultural society into more of a cash based society. Shippers of the steamboats and railroad demanded cash on delivery for goods. Many farmers lived with minimal amounts of cash in their lives because agriculture was largely subsistence based even if the farmer raised some cash crops, he still planted gardens, raised livestock, and grew much of his own food by his family's labor.
The frontier saw lots of bartering before the railroad or steamboat line came in but as the railroad or steamboat line came in the money economy became more important. The reality is however there are not very many examples in modern life where the free market exists anymore. When the steamboat line or the railroad went through the federal government already was in the business of promoting winners and losers. Steamboat companies and the railroads were both heavily subsidized by the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The U.S. Army would protect a community from armed bands of Native Americans. The Army would build forts that later became communities. The next thing is that as soon as territorial government got set up, often run by U.S. Army officers retired or even still on active duty, infrastructure such as canals and ports on the Great Lakes or navigable rivers were built. The Erie Canal was dug because the military had such an awful time moving supplies into the Great Lakes states in the Northwest territory during the War of 1812. The Erie Canal revolutionized the cash economy because transport of grain became cheap and fast. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dredged the river and built up the ports and surveyed the land that settlers could claim for farmland. Railroad companies were virtual appendages of the U.S. government and U.S. military. Abraham Lincoln, a former corporate railroad lawyer, used massive federal subsidies to build the first transcontinental railroad. Railroads received massive amounts of land subsidies, protection from the Indian tribes, and contracts by the Army to haul goods and soldiers from place to place.
So the government was in the business of picking winners and losers because if the community did not get a railroad line through it that community shriveled up while the community that had the railroad line developed a local mercantile economy based more on cash and less and less on subsistence bartering. This economic pattern was replicated along canals and railroads and river cities where the steamboats went through. People moved out to the edge of this government built infrastructure in family and religious groups typically to start new farms but they often settled in or near towns formed by these family and religious groups. These relationships helped form new towns and later mercantile businesses. The point is that the engineers trained at West Point helped shape and mold this development by the infrastructure the government and military built. Capitalism followed the U.S. Army and the Corps of Engineers because without the infrastructure you would have no commerce without commerce all you have is a bartering subsistence society. The reality is that the U.S. Army built the infrastructure and promoted the general welfare and provided the rule of the law that resulted in the modern mercantile economy. Entrepreneurs and business people that relied upon the cash economy could not have even gotten started in the first place without the infrastructure built by the partnership of the government, the military, the Corps of Engineers, and the big railroad and steamship companies that moved people, goods, and commerce across the country at affordable rates. American capitalism is founded on the infrastructure than an Army engineering officer helped build long ago. The railroad lines and the steamboat lines often had little or know competition because it was so hard for anyone to raise enough capital to start their own railroad or steamboat line. Sure there were competing companies for a period of time but over the long run certain companies established deeply entrenched monopolies over the flow of commerce within a region.
We start running into massive problems when talking about "free markets" with things like electrical power or municipal water too. The power company traditionally has a monopoly on the local market. The same goes for municipal water and sewage from a local utility company. Here again a monopoly prevails. There are just no other alternatives if you want electricity, flush toilets, or tap water to drink or bath in you will pay the utility bill that is by law regulated by local and state governments. The idea of a free market does not exist when you have monopoly control over a region.
The federal government has been deeply involved in picking winners and losers in the business world long ago. I can not recite the entire history of the U.S. but let's just say the idea of a totally free market is nothing but a myth, like Santa Claus, that certain political groups wish to perpetuate for their own reality or their own cash flow. The U.S. Corps of Engineers, the Army, and the government developed infrastructure that won the Civil War, caused the development of the transcontinental railroad, the Panama Canal, airports, the federal highway system, and other aspects of modern life. Inventions and the application of those inventions on a commercial scale such as telephones, radar, solid state electronics and much more came from the military-government-industrial complex that formed during both World Wars, the Cold War, the Space Race, and still exists today. Remember, a U.S. soldier, sailor, or airman uses prototype technology that are used years ahead of any entrepreneur or businessman. So that entrepreneur walks where a military member walked long before because the U.S. government always does the heavy lifting of developing infrastructure and new technologies ahead of entrepreneurs who merely develop that same product for a commercial application later on.
Oil was heavily subsidized by the U.S. Navy because battleships could run much more efficiently with oil turbines vice coal. Oil gave the battleships much longer range allowing them to sail from the Atlantic across the Pacific to the Philippines. The U.S. Navy developed the first electric hybrid system for its conversion from coal to oil. An electric generator produced electricity in an oil fired turbine to turn the shafts of the propellers of these battleships. The U.S. Navy electrical engineers produced the first electric hybrid system. Diesel locomotive also are diesel electric hybrids. So Toyota's Prius is copying technology developed by the U.S. Navy over a century ago after Teddy Roosevelt's 1906 Great White Fleet quickly showed the limitations of coal fired battleships.
Again the U.S. Department of Defense is building green energy on a massive scale right now because of casualties in the fuel convoys in Iraq and Afghanistan. The U.S. DOD is working on efforts to greatly reduce its reliance on oil. Solar, wind, electric trucks, electric-hybrid vehicles, and coal to liquid fuels and biomass fuels are being developed for the aviation of the Navy and Air Force. Once again American entrepreneurs will take advantage of a green energy future walking where soldiers, sailors, and airman traveled years before. This pattern is a permanent feature of the American mixed version of capitalism that only shows signs of getting stronger in the future. The truth is that the partnership between the military and the government creates the market in capitalism not the other way around. Entrepreneurs only thrive after the government-military-industrial partnership has done the real heavy lifting first not the other way around.
REDdog -- my mistake
Rex the GOP pretends it has the monopoly on understanding military issues but the intelligent know better. Next time a person says during the "golden age" and the period before were brought about through shared effort of private companies and government.
I wonder how many of these people remember that during WW2 for example the government not having any real manufacturing on its own worked with the names of some now very familiar companies....well at least they should know but I think people these days don't know crap about anything anymore....our schools are failing our kids.......that's how you get the tea party LOL
But back to the point the federal government to win the wars partnered with Boeing, Lockhead and Martin, Rolls Royce, and most of the major car manufacturers of today. That partnership helped win the war and it was great for business. This is something that goes on today, granted not at the same level but none the less true and it is a good thing.
Have a seat young tea partiers and listen government during the world wars and the cold war essentially floated ideas of what they wanted in terms of equipment. They would not develop these on their own, not because they were not smart enough but they do have a manufacturing force on its own that could compete on a global scale. So to advance technologies the department of defense published ideas on what it wanted to all the major industrial companies creating a race between each company's engineers to work as quickly and diligently as possible to beat the other corporations and receive a gigantic government contract. These businesses would jump and even run at the chance for a government contract.
This whole idea that government is incapable of helping business or directing any manner or form of business today in a positive way falls flat on its face as idiotic. I believe it is rooted in their worship of objectivist Rand inspired philosophies that demonize religion, government, family and all other collective groups of any kind
First: Romney, lyin' Ryan & the Republicans are trying to lie & buy their way into the White House. Second: To Ed; please take your "Counting the Lies" board on a national tour!Third: Why is Romney often credited with having disclosed 2 years of tax returns when in fact his 2011 returns is only a vague whimsical promise, and the 2010 returns he submitted was incomplete. He failed to include with it the FBAR; the Foreign Bank & Accounts Report, which is the one form in his returns that would show if there was anything illegal in all of his shenanigans to avoid paying his legitimate share of taxes to the country that he so loves that he wants to be its president.
Yes Ed lets do that. Lets do this lets show all the 21 taxes that obama Care will bring. Including the printing press at full tilt of our currency which is projected to hit 20 trillion by 2016 if this Obama is relected. NOT, you'll see inflation that is unimaginable.
Again you keep Romney Taxes into focus, trying to destacted the real truth.WHY IS OBAMA A FAILER TO THIS COUNTRY.
Get some FACTS. You are an idiot with no facts on anything you've posted.
This isn't even close to English.
Why can't you learn to spell?
Trolls can't spell. It's it nice that a newbie troll come on and tell a regular contributor to leave. He post BS with NO facts, but wants us to "prove" ours.
392. Where are all your facts? Where is all your proof? Where is your head stuck? And What the hell is a "4.0 PLUS?" Having graduated from 2 colleges with a 3.5 or higher, I've never heard of anything higher than a 4.0. But hell, you so smart, you invented a new grade system.
Where are youf facts at larry? oh that's right you don't have any.
Look who's asking for facts.
larry larry larry, what we should do with you. When you fail, you'll ask us to pay, again, again and again.
You're so full of it. When have I failed? When have you posted any facts? When have you provided any sources for those non facts. All you've done is attack others with right wing BS. You are a total failure. You can't even insult well. Maybe try going back to Fox Lies and get some more lessons.
He's a brain dead teabagger larry, therefor a waste of time.
Wow, a liar calling someone else a liar. Why did President Obama monkey with the Welfare Reform Act of 1996......why even go near it, leave it alone.
Ah because robme hood and republican governors wrote and demanded that they should be able to experiment with their state welfare programs to make them work better. That you then lie and say Obama tampered with welfare really you think you could get away with your lies.
I'll answer that. Romney simply saying. Got off you dead AS-S and go to work.
daveydog4 - ignore him, he doesn't make sense.
The chipmunk, is hording, for his bleak future. He has secret information that a space man told him, about how the earth is only safe if republican rule....RULE is the secret code word.....Only we democrats know what that means.
remember 56 panhead?
Tm he gave it away with the new nick.
davey.........I think you know the ans but Ill give mine. Its just one more of many ploys for Obama to cater to immigrants who might be able to vote. Obama will trade our country to hell and back to win the game.
Good point!
While the Republicans will merely sell it to China at a profit. I guess that appeals to you more.
sure thing Chrissy-- Then answer this about your Obama.
1. Obama shuts down oil drilling in Alaska which could destroy the pipe line.
2. Obama sends billions of taxpayer dollars to Brazil so they can produce oil for China.
3. Obama sends weapons contract to foreign company with ties to Iran.
4. Obama sends GE X-ray division to China creating technology and jobs for the Chinese people.
5. Obama and his buddy, Jeffery Immelt, CEO of General Electric and job czar, send sensitive aerospace technology and jobs to China.
6. Obama gives half billion dollars to car company with ties to Al Gore in Finland.
7. Obama shuts down oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, then pays Mexico to drill for oil there.
8. Obama creates jobs and wealth for our adversaries while depriving America of 250,000 jobs by rejecting oil from our friendly neighbor Canada.
9. Democrats realize Obama and his job czar are sending jobs and technology straight to China!
Bush administration 2001-2008. Ever hear of it?
Yes lets go there, And why Bush had a hand full due to Mr. Clinton, Chris Dodd, and the screwball Barney Franks and your truly Obama. Your move. How this country went to crap by those four characters. You have the floor.
Ann says, YOU PEOPLE should stay off topic....and dodge the issues. Pay attention to me now!
Thankful Mom-3182614--- what's you point?
Absolutely hilarious-All you know how to do is print Democrats' names. Ignore the fact that Republicans had complete control for 6 years, and a Republican president that could have vetoed anything he wanted for the last 2.
And you bring Clinton into it, when he wasn't even in office anymore, and all he did was leave Bush a booming economy and a surplus! You are truly an idiot.
Chrissy your so silly --When Bill Clinton killed the Glass-Steagall Act the situation is what reality is! And what happens, is the entire U.S. government operation is beyond reckoning. It is collapsing! And there’s only one thing you can do: The equivalent of Glass-Steagall: You take those accounts, which are accounts which are worthy, which are essential to society, you freeze the currencies, their prices, and no bailout. And you don’t pay anything that does not correspond to a real credit. It’s the only solution. The point has been reached—it’s here! You’re in a bottomless pit, Granted Bush should have stopped it. But Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and your truly Obama took advantage of it, with the Fair Housing Act, Mortgage loans to unqualified buyers!
Went pretty quick over "Granted Bush should have stopped it" didn't you? What with a Republican-controlled Congress and Senate and all.
And, OH MY GOD, who were the politicians who wrote the legislation to repeal it? TWO REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN AND ONE REPUBLICAN SENATOR!
Gee, I wonder which party we could blame for its existence?
They also could have enacted the balanced budget amendment, you know, the one they always bring up during a Democratic presidency, but for some reason, wouldn't even let come up for a vote when they had total control of the government.
But why get into details.
Can't give you a straight answer on that. Remember this Dot Com Bubble burst, that was nobody fault mild recession. That brought on the Bush Tax Bill. And maybe 9/11. Yes republicans had control until 2006. They had there chance, blew it.
And on a lighter note, the Congress now has a 12% approval rating.
Keep going, Congress! You can get it down to 10!
Chris, I saw one that only gave them a 9% rating. OH, that's right, they're on campaign recess, empty chambers get better ratings.
Yeah, when they go away, their numbers go up.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Yea sure thing, just like the Democratic house did in Wisconsin when they took off for Illinois . WOW. Are you being a Hypocrite.
Except you do not know what a hypocrite is, here is a clue someone that claims to be against something then you catch them doing what they claimed they wouldn't do, you know them well they are called republicans.
392-You're so quick to attack, you don't even know what you're attacking. You are a joke.
You bet I will with all your crony crap. Tell the DAMN TRUTH! Whomitmay -- you just need to sit in the corner , go drink some milk or something. Let the Big Dogs Fight.
Ann says.....oooops this wasn't suppose to happen:
This is what happens when we keep up the pressure on vote suppression: it crumbles under scrutiny.
A federal court just ruled that Republican Governor Rick Scott's new restrictions on early voting -- which target minority groups more likely to cast a ballot before election day -- are unfair and illegal.
According to the judges, the Republican law runs afoul of the 1965 Voting Rights Act.
This is an important victory for our side, but we cannot let up. The ruling applies only to 5 Florida counties, and it is still possible that Republicans will be able to shut the door on voters in the state's other 62 counties.
While Republicans claim they are just trying to protect against fraud, their real intent is clear: deny likely Democratic voters the chance to vote so that Mitt Romney can win Florida and win the White House.
We kept up the pressure against Florida vote suppression, and our efforts paid off. Now we need to ensure that every voter in every Florida county or in another battleground state can vote in this year's election.
There are no second chances. Let's use this victory to broaden the fight against those who would restrict the most fundamental right in our democracy
You bet, everybody who votes, a) U.S. Citizen, b)Carry a Federal ID Card. Period. Call it voter supression don't care.
Yea sure thing, but now 2% lower than before according to the most recent Gallup polls, and of course that includes the Senate. But it was the Dems who actually brought it this low to begin with, and what might cause some of this disappointment, is that the Dems in the senate have now broken records for most filibustering! They will not let any Rep's policies even get to the floor without refusing debate, refusing votes, etc. They are doing what the left hammered the Rep's for doing, except the Rep's DID let some Dem policies get to the floor for debate, and even passed a few as well. The Dems HAVE NOT done the same! They have been their usual completely partisan selves. Absolutely BIAS on every issue brought to the floor. Now do we need to discuss that BONE HEAD HARRY REED.
You are a true idiot. The Dems CANNOT filibuster you moron, the MINORITY in the senate is the only one that can filibuster, and that would be your teabaggers. Keep posting, the more you do the more idiotic you and the rest of the teabaggers sound. But your lack of knowledge about how our government works and showing it constantly on here is very entertaining.
If it was not Obama's intention to gut Clinton's Welfare Reform by signing an Executive Order that would allow states to submit waivers for the work requirement, why did he do it? This is yet another example of Obama circumventing the legislative process, resulting in the elemination of the role of Congress in our Government. Obama thinks he is a King or Emperor responsible to no one. He is wrong, hes is not free to enforce laws of his chosing and ignore those he disagrees with. And he is wrong, he will answer to the voters in November.
thank you, exactly right.

White House: Romney’s Welfare Attacks ‘Blatantly Dishonest’
“It seems to be the case these days that — with charges like this, that hypocrisy knows no bounds,” he said. “Governor Romney joined with 28 other Republican governors in support of policies that would have eliminated the time limits in the law and allowed people to stay on welfare forever. So perhaps his argument is with his past self, and I suppose that should not be a surprise.”
Read More About Waivers to the Welfare Law
Carney also underscored that the new waiver policy was requested by two Republican governors, Governor Herbert of Utah and Governor Sandoval of Nevada, both of whom are Romney supporters. “I don’t think, if you ask them — and I suggest you do — that they believe that their interest in these waivers was guided by a desire to undermine work requirements,” he said.
The White House contends the administration changed the regulations last month to give states more flexibility.
“This administration’s policy will strengthen the program by giving states the opportunity to employ more effective ways to help people get off welfare and into a job. Under this policy, governors must commit that their proposals will move at least 20 percent more people from welfare to work. And as we have made very clear under our policy, any request from any state that undercuts the work requirement in welfare reform will be rejected,” Carney said.

Chrissy- Again the tail is leading the dog. Answer this question, how does the government employee welfare when the States HAS NO MONEY? Chris , It's called MONEY. I guess you Print more MONEY CHRIS. THIS IS CALLED SOCIALISM. YOU CAN'T HIDE NOR RUN FROM IT. GIVE ENOUGH TO SURVIVE AND THAT'S IT. TOTAL CONTROL. I GIVE YOU A BONE AND FETCH. THATS THE OBAMA WAY.
The RealChris has this one correct. The Obama administration changed some of the regulations for the "work to welfare" rules because two GOP governors in Utah and Nevada, requested more flexibility in implementation of the program. This type of exemption is simply allowing states to implement a regulation in a manner that better suits their local conditions. These types of executive and administrative actions are taken when governors or other public officials ask for more flexibility to implement a program or put in place changes to an already existing program. Usually after review these requests are granted, perhaps with certain caveats or other conditions applied to them by the federal cabinet agency involved.
These actions are done in accordance with competent governance. Ideologues look at such things as "betrayal" when actually all they demonstrate that the real world is much more complex in a give and take relationship so that resources, time, and people's lives are not squandered away in an inefficient manner. The level of intolerant extremist ideology makes an intellectual conversation about making such changes in a complex relationship between the local, state, and federal cabinet agencies virtually impossible.
The larger point made by political science professors is that to rule the U.S. government you have to do it from the center. Whenever you try and rule from the extreme right or the extreme left everything starts to come to a screeching halt period. The radical right wingers are making the country ungovernable because their intolerant rigid ideology does not allow for flexible discussion of real issues based on facts and information. Good faith negotiation and compromise are essential features of making the American form of democracy function. Radical right winged fever is sweeping certain segments across the country. This fever will peak and then pass on because it is simply unsustainable. Routine business of the country is not getting done, such as the Farm Bill getting passed before August recess due to Tea Party ideologues wanting more cuts in the Food Stamp/SNAP program. The Senate has passed the Farm Bill in July. So its the responsibility of the GOP House to pass the Senate's version of the Farm Bill or else have had their version already passed long ago so the Conference committee can sort out language differences. Right winged Tea party members in the GOP House want more Food Stamp/SNAP cuts than the Senate will allow. They have been repeatedly told this but still insist on these massive cuts to SNAP/Food stamp programs that 47 million poor working families depend upon.
Will the Farm Bill get passed in the eight days that remain in September prior to the election/campaign break in the House? The answer is probably no, in fact the Farm Bill may not get passed this year at all. This is why Congress has an approval rating of 10% or less. The Farm Bill should have already been signed into law because President Obama had talked about it this spring. It sucks to be a rancher or farmer in a drought state wondering what the long term programs for help are going to look like. These businessmen can not stay in business without a long term five year Farm Bill. How many ranchers and farmers will go out of business because the Farm Bill was not passed in time? The House GOP have their heads stuck up their collective rectums. So much for the GOP caring about Main Street small businesses. The business of the country has to wait for right winged radical reactionary ideology that seeks to destroy America rather than build it up.
No, changing the subject when you don't have an answer is the hemi way.
And, really, give the "socialism" nonsense a rest. Not only is it not socialism, you don't actually know what the word means. To a rabid right-winger like you, it simply means "anything I don't like." It also means "I don't really have an argument, so I'll throw this out there and the righty's will applaud."
When a bell rings, do you salivate?
Chris sure it is when the Government feeds you, they control you thats Socialism PERIOD. Welfare will be within any society, There is No way out. Physical and Mental individuals just need help. But when you have an individual in Knoxville, Tennessee having 30 children with eleven different woman and telling me I have to pay, OK but your in prison for life. Better to locking him up, than having another 30. Government is to serve, not to be served. Private sector must grow without large taxation or were going to hell.
Farmers aren't corporations.
Chris, If a state can move 20% of welfare recipeants from Welfare to Work, why does Obama or the Federal Government have to get involved? Why would a wavier be needed to eliminate the work requirement if the end goal was to move 20% from Welfare to work?
Why don't you ask the Republicans that asked for it?
Perhaps you should try reading this again, slowly.

'cuz it's a 100% the federal government's money dumbass
So you see this is like the right's claim about showing ID to vote it's not changing whether you do or don't it's changing the kind. No work requirement is getting taken out the actions that can count as work which are very set in stone and not flexible so that makes it not particular fair in some cases.
Claiming it is taking away the work requirement is akin to declaring SB1070 is intended to create racial profiling. The measure has rules and considerations that are specifically intended to not have that happen so until it does happen there's nothing you can say to declare that it is going to be so.
Section 1115 of the SSA gives the secretary the power to judge and pioneer new more effective welfare assistance programs and grants the secretary the waiver authority to do so. they can waive section 402 of TANF which is what they have said they intend to do.
Obama is selling
hisour country for votes! Obamataxcare is pushed through with bribes despite 70% Americans did not want. Corporations, businesses do not want and will not hire until Obamataxcare is repealed. If corporations will not hire, where are jobs going to come from? Bigger government? Let's all work for the government, and then we can pass entitlements to each other.1st bribe: Cornhusker kickback $100 million
2nd bribe: New England's Special Syrup, $1.2 billion over 10 yrs
3rd bribe: Chris Dodds Christmas Wish, Hospital Helper, $100 million
4th bribe: Ben Nelson and Carl Levin of Mich. reports that nonprofit insurance companies will be exempt from a new, nearly $7 billion tax to pay for Obamataxcare. Democrat Sens. Ben "Blank Check" Nelson and Carl Levin of Michigan pushed hard for the tax exemption, which will exempt insurers in their states.
Here's a couple more: $300 million Louisiana Purchase for Landrieu; $300 million California doctor payments; AARP goodies; abortion and union lobby concessions.
Nice to see the liberals support Obama's dirty politics for their agenda. Where do you think all this money comes from? No wonder this President has never produced a budget.
I would say you have plagiarized this piece of work.....because I found it and the rag that printed....
you gave no sourse......that is plegerizing other writers work....Not good!
Ann says oooops, I didn't say this:
If you have spent any time listening to Hate TV and Hate Radio lately (and given Hate TV/Radio's monopolization of the airwaves, who hasn't?), you have heard Messrs. Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck et al. rant and rave about President Obama's partial implementation of the Dream Act by executive action. Specifically, President Obama has decided that he will not deport law-abiding young men and women who grew up in the United States, who would qualify for a path to citizenship under the Dream Act. Hate TV/Radio can't take issue with the substance of the Dream Act, because Saint Ronald of Reagan once said, "I believe in the idea of amnesty for those who have put down roots and lived here, even though some time back they may have entered illegally" (and then Saint Ronald gave amnesty to three million of "those" and "they"). So what Hate TV/Radio is left with is the argument that by taking executive action, the President supposedly is assuming the power of a dictator, in deciding what law he will enforce or not enforce.
Unfortunately, in response to this right-wing attack, I have heard no rebuttal, no riposte, no rejoinder, no repartee, and no reprisal. And that is unfortunate, because what they're saying just isn't how it works.
It is true that Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution says that the President shall "take care that the laws be faithfully executed." But that doesn't make the President some kind of enforcement-bot. The President, like a prosecutor, has prosecutorial discretion.
Under the principle of prosecutorial discretion, not every case of enforcement that might be brought can be brought, or should be brought. Officials with executive authority can and should establish enforcement priorities, and act on those priorities. Which exactly is what President Obama has done.
When Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson was Attorney General, he explained it this way: "Law enforcement is not automatic. It isn't blind. What every prosecutor is practically required to do is to select the cases for prosecution and to select those in which the offense is the most flagrant, the public harm the greatest, and the proof the most certain."
In the case of Oyler v. Boles, 368 U.S. 448 (1962), the US Supreme Court specifically held that "reasonable selectivity in enforcement" is constitutional. Not dictatorial; constitutional.
What Hate TV/Radio is doing is following the instructions laid down by Newt Gingrich in 1990, in his Orwellian essay "Language: A Key Mechanism of Control." Gingrich told Republicans to vilify Democrats with vituperative words and phrases, one of which was "abuse of power." The Right Wing is accusing President Obama of abuse of power regarding the Dream Act because that term is on Newt's list of magic evil words. (Newt Gingrich is sort of like abolitionist John Brown in reverse; even after defeat, Newt's lies go marching on.) But on this one, Hate TV and Radio are wrong, totally wrong, and the President is right.
Someone should say that. And I just did.
Courage,
Alan Grayson
Hahahaha Alan Grayson was kick out of congress because of his FAR FAR left Progressive views.
Wrong but then you are republican who haven't been able to get anything right since winning the civil war.
99% wrong. I know says ann, it is hard to tell the truth for republicans, but in this case you could have tried? Hang tight!!!!
Grayson was defeated for re-election in 2010 by Republican Daniel Webster.[3] In 2012, he announced his intention to seek election to Florida's 9th congressional district in 2012.[4]
ThankfulMom --Your turn, The Dream Act, lets see, 800,000 illegal children given amnesty to our country. OK 1,100,000 illigal parent. 2011 IRS reports 3 billion dollars, that U.S. dollars by the way sent to Mexico, Illegals filing child tax credit while the child went back to Mexico with a Social Security Number. Nice Job Barack Obama.

1. The Big Lie
The Romney camp's big lie is that Obama “raided” $700 billion from Medicare to pay for his healthcare scheme. There are two big problems with this story. The first is that Obama hasn't taken a single red cent out of Medicare benefits, and the second is that the Ryan plan has the exact same $700 billion in cuts . Even the laziest political reporter can grasp the hypocrisy of attacking your opponent for something you've proposed yourself.
Here's the scoop on Obama's (and Ryan's) “cuts.” They're not really cuts so much as reductions in how fast Medicare costs will increase over the next decade, and they come out of the hides of private insurers, hospitals and other service providers, not seniors. As healthcare analyst John McDonough wrote in the Boston Globe :
The key difference is what Obama and Ryan do with those savings. The Democrats use them to pay for Obamacare, which expands healthcare to millions of uninsured, and, according to the CBO, contains a bunch of provisions that actually make Medicare's long-term finances more sustainable. Here's a chart based on the CBO's numbers, courtesy of the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities :

Also... Christmas was not widely
celebrated by our founding fathers because it was considered an English
tradition based on pagan rituals. In some Colonies/States it was actually
illegal to celebrate Christmas. "In God We Trust" was not
established as the U.S. national motto until 1956 in the midst of the "Red

1950s.
James Madison is not the farther of the Constitution.
There are 40 signatures on the Constitution, and it took many fights some in words some the fists to hammer the thing out to the document we have today.
Well we know person who didn't finish history class, or atleast I hope because otherwise that would have to make one so totally emptied headed you could rent out the space between their ears as storage space.
Mom actually the founding fathers did not have the position you say on Christmas, you suffer from a misunderstanding, a subtle misunderstanding on this point in my opinion. What I mean by that is the founders were fine with this it was the Puritans that outlawed christmas because it was a very wild celebration akin to mardi gras. The Puritans banned it becuase it was too much fun and we know how they felt about that. So remember Washington, Jefferson, Franklin etc were not the Pilgrims. The Puritans came here to live in total isolation where they didn't have to tolerate anyone else's beliefs not for religious freedom as we often say. Their intentions were less noble in reality. So these individuals established colonies governed by theocracy but again they did not found america. The founding fathers are in the group that migrated for economic and general freedom that comes from the wilderness through the land. They came for a fresh start, to hit it big, or just feed a sense of adventure. They founded the country NOT pilgrims, they just got here first.
It is this fundamental misunderstanding that people like fake history proffessor David Barton try to use as some evidence that we were or should become a theocracy. The Barton types don't get the fact that the Puritans didn't make the country, they were not involved with that. When they came over they were an isolated state not subservient to any european power as the colonies were. If the pilgrims had gotten their way their world have been no outsiders moving on their land and the natives would have been wiped off the face of the earth. They didn't want any new people but of course over time as more colonists came from europe the movement pretty much died.

With Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan scrambling to distance themselves from Rep. Todd Akin's comments about "legitimate rape," Democrats have seized on the moment to highlight what they say are Republicans' outdated views on women.
Akin, a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate from Missouri, told a local TV interviewer Sunday that he opposed abortion in all cases, including rape and incest, because victims of "legitimate rape" are unlikely to become pregnant.
"The female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down," Akin told KTVI.
The GOP presidential ticket, Romney and Ryan, swiftly condemned Akin, saying in a joint statement that they "disagree" with Akin's remarks and that their administration "would not oppose abortion in instances of rape."
But Democrats said the presumptive nominee and his running mate have a history of aligning with Akin on "extreme" positions, including legislation that would have redefined rape, banned abortion in all cases and cut off funding for abortion providers, such as Planned Parenthood.
"While Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are working overtime to distance themselves from Rep. Todd Akin's comments on rape, they are contradicting their own records," said Obama campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith.
"Every day, women across America grapple with difficult and intensely personal health decisions — decisions that should ultimately be between a woman and her doctor," she said.
********
I just love to watch the repos try and fliip/flop and dodge and duck......LOL
I'm not paying for Abortion, I don't believe in it. Each and everyone of us will have to answer to our maker in Heaven, and that will be not hanging over my shoulder. That is my personal God given freedom and belief. You choose your own road, you'll live or die by your own decision. If rape is accurd my heart goes to every woman out there and be more than glad to give her immediate medical attention physical and mental treatment. I'll be the first to help with financial assistance.
The Todd Akin candidacy is not just a fiasco for the Missouri Republican party but is a national GOP fiasco called the "War On Women." Claire McCaskill has taken a beating politically for supporting President Obama's mostly centrist policies during a down economy. We do need to consider however, the rights of a woman in the 21st century to control her own body. Women serve as Army officers, Army NCO's and virtually every type of job in the corporate sector or public sector so why all the fuss about abortion or birth control? If women can do all of these jobs everyday why is it that conservatives can not get passed the idea that the same woman is smart enough to make decisions about her own body and private life. Conservatives in America today are like brain washed children living in a world where zealotry and radical ideology wrapped up in the veneer of religious belief are more important than a women's brain.
American society has moved long passed the time when women were the virtual property of their fathers, husbands, or had to have an elder son sign for their property rights as was the case in the 19th century. I must confess I do not understand why the right wing in America hate women so much? No intelligent man who is educated and literate should oppose a women's right to get medical advice about her reproductive health. I am talking about abortion, family planning, birth control, cancer checks which frequently show up in middle aged women's reproductive organs etc. Unless you are a trained doctor or a trained Registered Nurse or a trained licensed social worker who counsels women and girls about these things you are incompetent as a male to tell a woman what to do with her own private life and private parts.
If you are a conservative ask yourself this question: "Do I have a medical degree with a state license to practice medicine or have I graduated from a certified Registered Nursing Program with a four year degree with a license? Am I a trained social worker with a college degree to counsel women who need help with a personal issue like abuse, pregnancy, or a crisis problem such as incest or rape where the life of the woman or girl maybe at risk from an abusive or dangerous male partner? If the answer to these questions are "NO" then you need to understand that you are an incompetent authority to render judgement upon such personal health and medical matters. These issues about a women's reproductive health have to be made by a woman and her doctor, nurse, or case worker or social worker who are competent licensed people to deal with such problems.
I really want Claire McCaskill to get reelected. She has been a good Obama supporter but she is also a brave and strong woman. We need some moderate Senators like her to stay in the Senate for a variety of reasons beyond the Majority Leader vote. We also need Claire McCaskill to vote for at least two more Supreme Court judges that will likely retire after this election.
We need more moderate women on the Supreme Court because I am very uncomfortable with conservative male judges on the court. After working with many women in the Army for 20 years on active duty I have learned greater respect for women including the hard working wives of male soldiers, and I have also learned utter contempt for hard core right winged extremist conservatives. I hope that President Obama puts more moderate women judges on the court because conservative men back corporations rather than American families. We need to remember that women make up at least one-half of the population so at least four or five women jurists need to be on that court in in many other lower courts too. A rape or incest victim or a young pregnant girl needs to be treated with compassion and understanding not condemnation. Conservative male judges seem to lack the intellect to treat women with this kind of understanding. Roe v. Wade was a good decision that must be upheld. Family planning and birth control programs in the ACA need to be upheld because they are good things for American women and their families. Conservatives want to bring America back into the 19th century while America faces unprecedented economic competition from the BRIC and Asian-Pacific rim countries in the 21st century. Its really a question of do we want to move forward as a nation or do we want to see China and India pull ahead of us? This is why Claire McCaskill needs to get reelected because America must move forward not backwards.
McCaskell has to go, being a Missourin John Brunner will replace Akin. No More Obama. We want her out, she two faced, check casher, period.
And we care what you want why????
Larry: Have you ever noted the total lack of policy solutions, ideas, thoughts and sources from the right winged trolls? Could this also mean a dearth of empathy or even intellect among them?
I think you have something there, Rex, I think you have something.
Are you kidding me? Obma calling Romney out on falsehoods. Obama ought to know what a falsehood is....he is the King of Falsehoods. I have never seen a president lie as much as this guy. The only president to be called a liar out loud by a member of Congress during major speech. The only president to be called a liar by a member of the Supreme Court during a speech. What does that tell you? Obama would not know the truth if it smacked him in the face. I cringe every time I watch him speak on TV and spew the crap he does. And Biden? Are you serious? One heartbeat away from being the president himself? Does that not scare all of you libs? He will put us all back in chains.
Come on libbys. Face it. Obama and Biden have to hit the road. Back to Chicago and wherever Biden goes. Right will prevail over wrong every time eventually. I hope November is that time.

Sorry, got distracted and didn't paste.
Once considered liberal and progressive, the Republican Party has been taken
over by right-wing conservative con artists who lie, cheat and steal to gain and
maintain power. From voter fraud and suppression to smear campaigns, personal
attacks and media manipulation, they have been using the same strategies for
more than a hundred years.
While Democratic Dirty Tricks prominently show
up around FDR's first election in '32, Kennedy/Nixon (Chicago) in '60 and Lyndon
Johnson in '64, these lead to The New Deal, Social Security and Civil Rights
while Republican Dirty Tricks give us depressions, poverty and massive national
debt.
Republicans know if most people vote, they would never win so they
try to demoralize the Democratic base and suppress the vote as much as possible,
they buy some people off with tax cuts and scare the rest into voting against
their own interests and that's how they win. It's a divide and conquer strategy
that has worked well and they refine and expand it every election
year.
Republican Strategy:
campaigns.
In the 2004
election there was massive GOP voter fraud and suppression; from black box
voting fraud, vote tabulating fraud, re-registering people into different
precincts, destroying voter registration forms, misinformation in poor
neighborhoods, moving polls close to election day, old ballot machines in poor
and black neighborhoods that spoil votes, ballot checking machines in wealthy
neighborhoods that allow wealthy voters to re-cast spoiled ballots, police
intimidation, caging lists and on and on and on. The result was an 8 million
vote discrepancy between the official results and exit polls. The official
results had Bush winning by 3 million votes but the exit polls had Kerry winning
by 5 million votes.
Republicans have two major factors on their side; a
fanatical base willing to carry out the dirty tricks and the greediest
billionaires to finance them. They deceive good people by raising the red flag
of abortion and gay marriage to divert attention away from their arrogant and
greedy policies which cause the poverty, war and pollution we are facing
today.
The next time a Republican tells you “America, love it or leave
it.” Tell them you love America. You just want right-wing conservatives to stop
molesting her. If they act like they don't know what you're talking about, send
them here.
President Obama Speaks the Truth

Ohammer-head said he would have a open government with a web site so everyone could view and read all bills before he signs them.

Romney and Ryan Dissemble, But RNC Prepares Radical Zygote-as-Person Platform
As of today, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan may find themselves in a wee bit of a bind.
For the past two days, the pair have been running around trying to assure the press and ultimately women voters that they really do believe in "real rape," not just "legitimate rape," that they are not as misogynistic as Missouri Rep. Todd Akin, and that, of course, a Romney-Ryan Administration would never eliminate rape and incest exceptions for abortion.
And, now it appears that, all the while, the people really in charge of the GOP--fundamentalist anti-choicers among them--have been writing a party platform that not only makes all of that a lie, but is in effect a promise to make the personhood of fertilized eggs the law of the land.
The draft official platform strongly supports a "a human life amendment" to the Constitution:
Let's be very, very clear that such an amendment--which Mitt Romney has said unequivocally he would sign--would not only criminalize abortions of any kind for any reason, but also would outlaw many forms of contraception, in-vitro fertilization, and treatment of pregnant women with life-threatening conditions such as cancer. Moreover, it would also criminalize miscarriage.
This amendment is based on the self-same premise that was soundly rejected by voters in Colorado andMississippi. Radical anti-choice advocates figure, it seems, if you can't win it in the states, then beat them over the head with a constitutional amendment.
Romney, who in his quest to win the nomination of a party that is oozing with misogyny has all but promised to lock pregnant women in jail cells until they give birth, is now in a real pickle. Post-Akin, he states unequivocally that he would "oh, of course, no question" allow exceptions in otherwise radical abortion bans for rape and incest, through pre-Akin he was absolutely, positively clear he would not allow such exceptions. Ryan is just Akin without the political Tourettes Syndrome: He was an original co-sponsor of the bill to redefine rape, and to let Catholic hospitals deny women care. He also is a co-sponsor of the Sanctity of Human Life Act.
So now the question arises: Which GOP ticket is being nominated, exactly? Is it the one compromised of two men who have done everything but lick the boots (at least to my knowledge) of radical anti-choicers such as the Americans United for Life, the Family Research Council, and the Susan B. Anthony List? Or is it the kinder, gentler ticket that only wants to imprison women who terminate a pregnancy not conceived in rape?
Will these men now challenge their party platform publicly? If they don't, then they give lie to their post-Akin magical mystery tour. If they do, then they give lie to the innumerable statements they have made (Romney) and actions they have taken (Ryan) to assuage radical anti-choice groups.
The problem isn't Akin. Its the central position of a party controlled by fundamentalists who believe women have no rights.
Stay tuned, folks.
Cut Paste Cut Paste Cut Paste.
And all from leftwingnut web sites.
Geeeee what do you think those web sites have to say about the GOP?
Strange how the most listen most watch radio & TV shows are rightwing.
Rush has over 20 million listeners, the ed radio shoe tv show not even close not even in the same number range, ed's listeners and watchers are counted in the 1000's. LOL
Bill O kills the ed show 4 to 1, Hannity kills ralph madcows show 2 to 1.
Few years back ed was on FOX for an interview and when the FOX gang started to bust his chops over his construction co, big ed walk off LOL.
Next all the ed show Lefty's will tell us how FOX has the most uninformed viewers, well maybe that is why they watch the news in the first place is to get informed.
Instead of the ed show Lefty's that get their info from MSLSD shows like the ed show, and his show is not news it is his opinions.
Too easy.

Paper dolls all over de place.
Thankful Mom-3182614-- And the Dems. NOT? Hell there spitting on old woman at Rally's. Obama is trying to bring up back door racial cards again. The Obama team knew they had the black vote “in the bag.” The problem was keeping the Sharptons and other black leftists in the closet so as not to frighten whites. Put “Oprah” out front to reassure and get enough white votes to win. Today, she has been thrown under the bus and is nowhere to be seen. Has anyone asked her why? Many of those whites who supported Obama are having “buyer’s remorse” over his failed economic and left wing policies. So, they must repeat the 95 percent black turnout. His goose is cooked and rightfully so.
I think we should all thank ED for helping get Romney elected! By waking up all those Wisconsin Republicans with his efforts, it looks like that state may go Republican. Nice Job ED! Now can you do the same with Ohio?
That was funny as all get out, ed and ed show bloggers all had Walker loseing.
Whoooooooooooops dude got more votes the 2nd time LOL.
Liberals love to eat crow.
Eat this ho.
Kevin LOL LOL
Keep up the good work mom.
You don't even live in Florida, so how would you know what is really goin gon in that state?
Oh that's right you get your info from the ed show, drum roll, rim shot, que laugh track.
Thankful Mom-3182614--- Beat you once, beat you again. But I'll tell you this, watch for the financial collapse within the next month. Watch Gold sky rocket, gas at $4,25. Obama, what you going to do, you can't blame Bush no more, no more, no more!
It's called the news dumbass funny when you've got a person who doesn't know how you can know what's going on in another state if you don't live there
Oh no
666999 are you promising More dirty republican politics where they raise the price on everything and make the American public suffer while they play the game of one-up-man-ship, like you Think you are playing here.you have beat me at anything but post your silly post more than any one on the vine and pretending you know something. ROTFFL & LOL
I win every time you post your fake noise.
Hemi seems rather full of himself like most right winged zealots. We never hear any new solutions, ideas, or thoughts on how to improve the country for real people. ThankfulMom reads the newspaper and other news sources that is how she knows the news. The U.S. economy is not going to collapse. Corporate profits reach $2 trillion last year with similar profits coming in for this year. The stock market is at 13,000 up from about 6,000 for the Dow Jones average in 2009. Corporate taxes are the lowest they have been since the 1950's. So President Obama has not been bad for business.
We are going to chug along slowly like we have because President Obama stabilized the Wall Street economy which is actually doing very well. The Main Street economy chugs along slowly creating jobs with over 4 million jobs created for over two solid years. When you consider how very severe this Great Recession was and the problems that remain you begin to realize that President Obama has done about as much as any human being could do.
Let's not forget that 3 million jobs would have been created or saved had the Congress passed the American Jobs Act and the Small Business Tax credit. The GOP House failed to even bring the American Jobs Act up for a vote. The American Jobs Act would have created or saved two million jobs. The GOP Senate filibustered the Small Business Tax Credit bill that would have created at least one million jobs. These three million jobs have been lost to the obstructionism of the GOP in the Congress. The GOP House has even failed to pass the Farm Bill even though the Senate passed the Farm bill in the Senate. The Farm Bill not passing is hurting farmers, ranchers, and other small businessmen on Main Street who rely on the stability that the Farm Bill brings. The severe drought of over 1,000 U.S. agricultural counties means businesses are hurting. So much for the GOP caring about businesses because they are too radical to do their jobs.
Guess what? Oblame-the-other-guy has a below 50% rating, and no incumbent has ever been reelected with a below 50% rating in the month of Aug.
Carter, Bush 1, Hoover, come to mind.
then why isn't Romney winning
Winning what? the election isn't until Nov the 6th.
lol...This coming from the guy that still thinks the uninsured should go to the emergency room for their healthcare...CONservatives, the looney tunes of politics.
Funny most people do get there health care in the ER.
You have a steelers logo and you live in texas LOL.
Guess you are not a native of the long horn state.
All the bitchen you do about the GOP yet your state is GOP and growing to beat the band.
Explain that will you.
Thats a huge part of why we spend so much in healthcare each year Einstien. 30 million ppl will not have to use the emergency room for their healthcare when HCR goes into effect because they'll have insurance....Understand? Or do I need to use a hand puppet to explain it.
Living in Texas is WHY I have a STEELERS logo. Don't want to be associated with the teabagger imbeciles in this state.
Born and raised here..It used to be a great state, till George bush and rick (oops) perry started ruining it by infecting their stupidity to the morons in this state and turning them into 'teabaggers'.
Well I'm not a brain dead gullible moron teabagger that believes anything their 'Bagger leaders tell them no matter how ignorant it is.
You would fit in well here.
Are you familiar with the concept of a poll? It's traditional in American politics to observe and analyze them to gauge which side seems to be winning with voters in an election.
President Barack Obama has not met with his jobs council for six months because he has too much on his plate, White House press secretary Jay Carney said.
"There’s no specific reason, except the president has obviously got a lot on his plate," Carney said during the daily White House briefing. "But he continues to solicit and receive advice from numerous folks outside the administration about the economy about ideas that he can act on with Congress or administratively to help the economy grow and help create jobs."
The 26-member President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness has not officially met since January, according to a Politico report. That article suggested that the group of business executives and CEOs might be reticent to appear with Obama as his reelection campaign heats up.
"In the last six months, he has held 100 fundraisers," Romney said. "And guess how many meetings he's had with his jobs council? None. Zero. Zero, in the last six months. So it makes it very clear where his priorities are. His priority is not creating jobs for you, his priority is trying to keep his own job and that's why he's going to lose it."
