The first day of the Republican National Convention leaned heavily on the party's rebuke to Obama's, "You didn't build that" line. In fact, the official theme of day one was: "We Built It."
On Tuesday, the first official day of the convention, the Republican National Committee unveiled a series of three videos in which small business owners declared Obama's claim that business owners benefit from government help to be, in one of the businessman's words, "complete nonsense."
Metal fabricating company owner Jack Gilchrist also went after the "you didn't build that" line in a speech delivered at the convention. "This Administration is killing us out here," he said, citing the difficulty following the government's "rules and regulations."
Bev Gray, owner of a company called Exhibit Edge, delivered a speech on that theme as well. "The President said that business owners didn't get there on our own," she said. "Well, he's wrong. We risked everything and succeeded because of our hard work and commitment."
Their remarks were echoed by the speeches of major figures in the GOP, including Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell. "Big government didn't build America: You built America!" he said. "Small businesses don't come out of Washington, D.C. pre-made on flatbed trucks.
That coffee shop in Henrico; that florist in Virginia Beach, that bakery in Radford, they were all built by entrepreneurial Americans with big dreams, not a big-spending government with a wide-open wallet full of other people's money!"
In fact, Obama never said that entrepreneurs didn't build their businesses; he said that they built it while taking advantage of government infrastructure such as roads and electricity. And as Rachel Maddow pointed out, the convention itself is taking place at an arena in Tampa whose construction was subsidized in large part by government funds.

IMO at the DNC they need good speakers. I think we need many of those in congress who will make it plain as day that the Tea Party has made it almost impossible to get the country's economy going because of their stonewalling. Also those of who a running for seats like Heidi Heitkamp from ND to help get their word out about how the Super Pacs have invaded their corporate interest to gain control and silents the peoples voices just like they did in the Republican primary. Rick Berg is running a close race with Heitkamp and Berg has not accepted a single debate yet! Much like Willard won't answer any questions we need to shine a strong light on this and how they are trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the voters by just relying a smear campaign with overwhelming money from the billionaires who only serve themselves.

MSNBC wants you to think the Republican Party hates minorities. So much so that the liberal news network cut minority speeches from it’s convention coverage.
When popular Tea Party candidate Ted Cruz, the GOP nominee for Senate, took the stage, MSNBC cut away from the Republican National Convention and the Hispanic Republican from Texas’ speech.
MSNBC stayed on commercial through former Democratic Rep. Artur Davis’ speech, as well. Davis, who recently became a Republican, is black.
Then, when Puerto Rican Governor Luis Fortuno’s wife Luce’ Vela Fortuño took the stage minutes later, MSNBC hosts Rachel Maddow and Chris Matthews opted to talk over the First Lady’s speech.
And Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval? Noticeably missing from MSNBC, too.
Mia Love, a black candidate for Congress in Utah, was also ignored by MSNBC.

while watching the RNC, I had to pop over to MSNBC to see how they were responding. MSNBC is a FRICKIN' JOKE. I have never seen a more biased and moronic display in decades. If there was anyone in management with one ounce of intelligence or integrity, they would fire Matthews, Maddow and the other jerk off's on the spot. The sad part is there will be 20 percent of the viewing audience that will be watching and cheering them on. SAD SO SAD.....
Well, I wonder if tonight convinced any one to Vote Mitt in as The Commander In Chief for the next four years. I myself tried to look at the speakers to see if they had any ideas on hoe to move our country Forward, but I really didn't see any. Foreign Policy Experience is a major Part of this Job. No One is even bought this subject up. Then I tried to understand their Policies, but there were none of those either..
I tried to listen to them without forming an opinion, about them, but that's all i seemed to get out of all the speeches, was the history, and high points of each speaker. Still nothing on Romney/Ryan. I would have to say that after watching the first night of this Convention, I wouldn't elect either of these guys to hold office over any one. They are running an empty Campaign.
The Rain and wind are really, really, strong now, but Louisiana is getting the worst of Issac by far. I Hope every one is safe, and cared for.. I'm trying to stay up and wait for this storm to blow over, But I do consider myself blessed to be in my own home. And, as always, My Prayers are for those who are less fortunate than myself.
