After a campaign that essentially lasted half a decade, Mitt Romney will accept the Republican nomination for president Thursday night in Tampa. And MSNBC will be live-blogging the action right here!
Join Alex Wagner, the host of MSNBC's Now with Alex Wagner, and MSNBC political analyst Richard Wolffe as they keep Mitt honest (or try to, anyway!) and break down his performance. They'll be joined by Steve Schmidt, who'll share his insights as the man who ran John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign. And you never know who else might drop by...
We also want to hear from you! Send us your own take on what you're hearing, and we'll post a selection of reader comments. The blog goes live at 10pm, a little before Mitt takes the stage. See you then!

It was reported today that the Janesville Plant built Isuzus as well. It has become my belief that Paul Ryan has modeled his political career after his mentor, Joe Isuzu.
Ryan the liar. This behavior must be stop by the American people. Romney/Ryan needs to know that the American people will not put with their lies.
This is my clear picture of Romney:
Romney shames the presidency of the United States, the highest position on American soil. He should be ashamed of himself. Romney/Ryan intentionally and continuously lies to the American people and this is the wrong way to engage in politics. The political actions of Romney/Ryan could have possible effect on people’s economical and financial future. There should be a boundary and obviously Romney has no boundaries.
I have never in my life seen anything like Romney/Ryan in my life. Two peas in a pot that lies.
Why dont they just call romney what he is, a liar that isnt wanting to work for the country, but for his own wealth and those in his party.
Romney/Ryan are both liars on every front. Romney flip flops everytime he open his mouth. Everyone knows when you start being a liar it's hard to keep up with the first one you ever told, after that you forget or try to mislead with another until you have no idea what you said. That's were Romney and Ryan are at this moment. Ryan acts like he had nothing to do with the 5 trillion hugh debt from the Bush 8 years and voted no on everything to do with a job bill or debt reduction plan in Congress for the last 31/2 years. Ryan did voted on many woman bills/policies he with Akin put up. Other then that No Deals with Dem/Obama. Mitch McCollum said it best, 1 term for Obama, regardless who get hurt. (WE THE PEOPLE)
The convention is of course an opportunity to sort out the GOP platform. This convention is also an opportunity to sort out the media. Honesty and truthfuless is the North Star. We're not just seeing the course steered by the GOP but also the course steered by the corporate media entities, and their orientations toward the North Star. Gobama 2012!
Will someone please ask the republicaian party tonight; why they would not sign the jobs bill proposed by President Obama? And why did the GOP declared at the begining of the Presidents office; that they will stop at nothing to destroy the President?
**************
Mr. Eastwood, when people have an agenda to destroy someone they stop at nothing to do that. The lie, twist a lie, turn a lie and even put the American people at risk........
Mr Eastwood's performance was an abomination......Our president is never rude or crude as portrayed by Mr Eastwood......What can we expect from Mitt Romney
Colin Powell reflects on endorsing Obama in 2008
Published May 22, 2012 |
Hannity | Sean Hannity
"Please take a moment to read this excerpt"
revisit this interview you won't regret it.!!!!!
POWELL: Well, that's a term that's being used rather
freely. I don't think it's that divisive of an issue. I think we have right now,
we have dueling points of view strongly held by both sides. And the president
is starting to go to the mattresses, just as the Republicans are going to go to the mattresses to try to win the
election.
What could have been more divisive than when President Obama was inaugurated for a number of Republicans, friends of mine and a number of commentators to say, we are going to destroy him. We are going to destroy him.
HANNITY: Who said that?
POWELL: A lot of people saying, I can get you a list, but I don't want to just take it off --
HANNITY: I was one of the harshest critics. I wasn't out
to destroy him.
POWELL: I don't ever remember you saying it.

Hannity exhibits a rather convenient lapse of memory. Senator Mitch McConnell said this at the end of 1210 during a speech at the Heritage Foundation.
"Our top priority over the next two years should be to deny President Obama a second term."
And they've worked very diligently towards that, no matter who was hurt in the process, including killing a jobs bill that would have pumped $447 billion into the economy. Several economic analysts said that the bill would add approximately two million jobs and would be a defense against a double-dip recession. The Congressional Budget Office also scored it as a net deficit reducer over ten years, and the American public supported the bill.
But Republican would not allow it to pass. Why? Because anything that helped the American people would also have helped President Obama?
Remember when they took the debt ceiling hostage for the first time in history?
That's just two examples of how they've actively worked against growing the economy, cost us jobs and added to the deficit.
And now we're supposed to believe that the Republicans give a damn about us?
Their record says clearly enough that they don't value us in the least, merely their own power.
So, Marco Rubio said I was not an American because I believe in some of the same things the Democrats do. Well, thank you Mr. Rubio, if I was undecided before your speech, I am no longer. I AM an American, and I choose someone other than your new radical Republican Party. I was a registered Republican, will change to Independent ASAP, the party I joined decades ago has been lost and replaced by radicals too afraid they will lose their power to a better, more peaceful world. Romney is talking about the nastalgic days of old, get out of the past and join the future.
The people that attacked us 11 years ago weren't concerned about the *size of our army.
Romney will have us go back to the "good ole days", go to war, and ruin our planet so that our children has no future.
This Romney/Ryan package is the biggest line of BS we've gotten from the GOP since the WMD package from Iraq. They can't lie the way they do and delay the jobs act passage etc. and expect us to believe them now. If you see a republican with his mouth open, he's lying!!
NONE of tonite's speakers know anything about acting.....Twitt's "tepid" attempts were as flat as my doormat.....
Did he say the first priority was jobs? That can't be right. The 2010 congress's first priority was jobs, jobs, jobs, but I seem to recall they have been more worried about my uterus.
- - - sent on my business computer with safety standareds, via the internet I didn't build, sitting at my comfortable (thanks to OSHA) work station, taking a break from work on a project that uses a product I didn't create (the government & the World Health Organization did & my industry has used each version for free for decades). I have my own business & mostly work from home. Sometimes I fly, driving on the DOT-constructed freeway to the FAA-approved airport, flying on FAA-certified jets after going through TSA-security. At my destination I rent a NHTSA-approved car that runs on safe fuel. I pick up FDA safe food and water at a grocery, listen to radio on free public airwaves. I audit at hospitals & clinics that are supported with Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans, & military money. Did I build my business? yes, but couldn't have done it without all of you! so, thanks!
I can not wait until the DNC Convention so we can show them how it's done!
Concerning all of the lies that have been told by the Ryan/Romney (not a misprint) camp, isn't it fair to say that political advertising, whether on television, radio, print, or in person, podium style, is basically someone trying to sell something to someone else? The GOP is the salesman, Romney is the product. They are trying to sell worthless goods to the American public.
Ok, Having said that, there are very strict and straightforward laws and regulations concerning Truth in Advertising. The Federal Trade Commission claims to have the power to regulate ALL forms of advertising. Here is a link that explains the point of my post: ""
You'll have to cut and paste without the quotes because I can't figure out how to put an active link in these posts yet.
Here is an excerpt from that web page: According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), “advertising must be truthful and non-deceptive… advertisers must have evidence to back up their claims… and advertisements cannot be unfair.”
That being said, I believe, whole hardily that after President Obama is elected for his second term, that there should be a MASSIVE class action law suit against Romney, Ryan, and the rest of the GOP and TeaBaggers for violating the Truth in Advertising laws, and blatantly, obviously, intentionally, trying everything they can to dupe and deceive the American public.
Just sayin'
Jeez. here's the link again, www .myprofessionaladvertising .com /Legal%20Issues%20in%20Advertising1 .htm
cut and paste, and remove the extra space before each .
And if anyone knows how, can you tell me how to insert live links into these posts please.
You mean like Obama's people running the untruthful ad where they claim Romney caused a women to die. Of course you're not interested in seeing justice for that, because it doesn't help your crazy leftist views. At least be honest about your bias views instead of pretending to be " a concerned citizen ".
Re: Richard Wolffe
"I never knew the essential qualification for the presidency was running a business. I wonder if Lincoln ran one."
This is the sort of 'knowledgeable' person who is a commentator on MSNBC?
Please, everyone knows Lincoln had a Law office in Springfield, Illinois. He also had this:
"In 1832, at age 23, Lincoln and a partner bought a small general store on credit in New Salem, Illinois. Although the economy was booming in the region, the business struggled and Lincoln eventually sold his share."
But of course you wouldn't know that...
You guys are as big a nut jobs as the crazies on MSNBC. You guys wouldn't know a lie if it slap you in the face, because every word on that channel is a lie...and you clowns eat it up. It's going to be funny to watch all your heads explode when Mittens( whom I'm not a fan of ) wins. Even though they have like 10 viewers...I hope they never take any of them off the air. They make me laugh.
Women are angry over Obama hiding behind Hillary Clinton and
tossing her under the bus. Hillary was our great hope to have a women president
and now that hope is gone. He has destroyed her career and there is no way I
believe that he wasn’t micro managing that situation, but she is loyal to a
fault to a party that wasn’t loyal to her. I was shocked when they tossed their
support behind Obama even when she still stood a chance. They had all of these “special
votes” and they gave them to Obama when they saw her getting close – it was
unreal. Additionally, I haven’t forgotten how they talked about her clothing –
they only man’s clothing that has ever been an issue was the guy this time around
with the sweater vest, but Hillary and Palin’s clothing was an issue – I felt
like screaming are you kidding me. Our hope is gone for a woman in the White
House and he took it. Women will not soon forget how Hillary was treated, but if
the party had stood behind her, none of this would be going on right now, she
would have close to 100% of the women’s vote along with the minority groups.
