The man who handled budget issues for President Reagan has something to say about the Romney-Ryan plan. And it's not a compliment.
"They have a secret plan to cut the budget," David Stockman, who ran the Office of Management and Budget under Reagan, told Ed Schultz on Monday night's The Ed Show, adding: "They won't close any loopholes" in order to protect the highest earners.
"The top 2 percent are so damn lucky from the boom we've had over the past 20, 30 years," Stockman said. "They ought to stop whining about paying a little more in taxes, because we are in trouble fiscally."
Stockman, who in recent years has emerged as a frequent critic of the modern-day GOP, wrote an op-ed in The New York Times last month in which he slammed Paul Ryan's "fairy-tale budget plan."
"Mr. Ryan’s sonorous campaign rhetoric about shrinking Big Government and giving tax cuts to “job creators” (read: the top 2 percent) will do nothing to reverse the nation’s economic decline and arrest its fiscal collapse," he wrote.
But Stockman had harsh words for President Obama, too.
"After four years, President Obama hasn't cut a dime out of defense," Stockman told Schultz. "He should be taking on the generals, the military-industrial complex ... [he should] cut back this huge defense establishment we don't need."

This is a good video if ya have the time watch it..You might be surprised.
That is the way r-money operates.....Vague!
Then he ask us to "Believe" and "Trust ME"......like I'd put my trust in the devil?
Romney's budget is such a secret he doesn't know what it is.
And just where is the budget now??? it has been over 1100 days of no budget.
Or did you forget that fact.
Did you?

I didn't print the whole thing, but read it at your leisure.
Whiners where is mitts flag pin in this picture.....Next time ho complains about you don't paste facts and sourses ....well just copy and paste this on him.
Stockman is right!
David Stockman was absolutely right. In addition, we need to remember and think about the fact that GW Bush gave the very wealthy these tax breaks shortly after he started the Iraq war.
Throughout history, taxes have been raised to pay for wars and to ask every American to share in that sacrifice. The Democrats need to bring this out into the open, instead of letting the GOP define these tax cuts as SOCIALISM or class warfare.Taxes have always been raised to fund a war, always. Never CUT.
I noticed romey saying he was not going eliminate cap gains loopholes on investors with income of under 200k sneaky way to justify lie he wont raise taxes on middle class im sure percentage of 200k taxpayers that are investors is a low percentage
compared to 250 k and up i dont think he even acknowledges tax laws for other than
investment income. So other side of card he will eliminate mortgage interest deduction or other deductions currently in place since hes not taxing there
investment gains so a bunch of people would wake up late 2012 finding out they got screwed and the small groups of investors would almost break even . Is it just me or did anybody else thinks his wording on that was tricky word twist?
http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/news_columnists_ezorn/2012/09/flat-desperate-romney-flip-flops-on-health-care-in-one-day.html
So, what's the secret plan? Since it is not a secret anymore.
Which is why you will always be the GOP's shoeshine boy.
This little mouse is really a bore, but he is after the cheese. he brings his own whine. Doesn't he know that cheese makes you fart?
Daveydog represents the republiteas I saw on TRMS when she was asking supporters of a republican candidate Joe Miller what they know about the issues he is running on.....I don't have all the facts but it must be true.....yes keep repeating and repeating and eventually they will believe it....and we know what political figure said that and we also know his fate
I would like to see Romney adopt a Tax Code that requires every one to pay their Fair Share. Three Income Tax Rates 5%, 10% and 15%. Every one that benefits from Government Spending would actually be paying for it. What an unusual concept. Of course one of two other things would have to happen to make ends meet. 1) The government would have to significantly reduce spending or 2) More people would have to go to work. Either works for me.
That is the most common sense plan I have heard in quite sometime on this site.
However the libs here would never go for that because it makes sense.
As for Stockman, he has been proven to be a liberal lackey for many years so his words here hold as much weight as wet toilet paper.
I'd like to see r-money establish one firm statement and stick to it. Not going to happen. The republicans don't need for any thing to make real sense. They like the flip/flop, mumbo, jumbo, etch-a-sketch moments. Lackeys?.....republican lackeys is all I see.
Thankful, You have undying support for Obama. You completely dismiss Obama's responsibility for the Unemployment Rate, continuing Housing Crisis, Higher Cost of Living, the continuing War in Afganistan, the increasing cost of energy, the increased number of people in Poverty and on Food Stamps, etc.... Romney couldn't say or do any thing that would cause you to vote for him.
Romney can't say or do anything to make anyone vote for him.
Oh, and, Thankful didn't mention Obama. And, oddly enough, you didn't mention Romney.
The liberals all hate Reagan, well until it suits their needs.
Notice the Obummer economic plan just is not working out so well?
When will the specail ed show talk about that?
The over 8% unemployment for the past 3 1/2 years.
The over 40 million people on food stamps.
The over 20 million people out of work.
Notice the special ed show never talks about those issues.
It's much easier to play the blame game.
Sure we talk about the disasters that the GOP have spent 40 years creating the problem is moocow you tea bagged republicans refuse to listen, admit or even accept that it was GOP policies that created the mess to begin with. In tea bagged republican land these problems didn't start until 2009. Reagan gets most of that blame for his trickle down/supply side rewrite of the Hoover policies. Sure the 1920's saw a booming economy until the credit dried up and the economy crashed in 29, but then you seem to blame FDR for that even though he didn't take office until 4 years after the crash. Funny how you won't even admit how Reagan took the US off the industrial economy and put the US on a service economy, Which made the US the #1 lender nation to the worlds #1 borrowing nation, or the fact that the Reagan tax cuts for the 1% he tried making up for the loss of tax dollars by raising taxes 11 times on the working man, as well as industrial jobs were out sourced and replaced with service jobs. In tea bagged republican land non of those historic events happened, nope everything fell apart because a black man was elected president. That is the whole tea bagged republican argument in a nut shell. And it is robme hoods platform, you can't fix stupid when stupid denies they are at fault.
Explain the "New Deal" if you can.
The fact is, it was bad policy from Hoover and FDR that put the country into the depression.
Furthermore the depression did not effect the whole country.
I mean you can't even due simple 8th grade math, yet you are an expert when it comes to the economy.
I wish you knew what you were talking about for once. Are you even of voting age? Are are you just that immature? BRING SOME FACTS HERE, FOR GOD'S SAKE!
Explain quantum mechanics, if you can.
And post it in Korean, since that's one of the languages you pretend to speak.
I thought moocow only speaks cow cause when he posts its all moo moo moo moo translated it says me whine me whine.
Fact over 8% unempoyment for the past 3 years.
Fact over 40 million people on food stamps.
FACT: SPAM.
Those are the facts and real numbers.

Go there read for your self.
And Republicans, like Romney, caused them.
And who is in the white house now? and who controls the senate?
And who controls the Congress? And who said their only job was to make Obama a one-term president, and obstructing everything he does is their path to power?
Robert Draper Book: GOP's Anti-Obama Campaign Started Night Of Inauguration
Posted: 04/25/2012 2:53 pm Updated: 04/26/2012 10:09 am
WASHINGTON -- As President Barack Obama was celebrating his inauguration at various balls, top Republican lawmakers and strategists were conjuring up ways to submarine his presidency at a private dinner in Washington.
The event -- which provides a telling revelation for how quickly the post-election climate soured -- serves as the prologue of Robert Draper's much-discussed and heavily-reported new book, "Do Not Ask What Good We Do: Inside the U.S. House of Representatives."
According to Draper, the guest list that night (which was just over 15 people in total) included Republican Reps. Eric Cantor (Va.), Kevin McCarthy (Calif.), Paul Ryan (Wis.), Pete Sessions (Texas), Jeb Hensarling (Texas), Pete Hoekstra (Mich.) and Dan Lungren (Calif.), along with Republican Sens. Jim DeMint (S.C.), Jon Kyl (Ariz.), Tom Coburn (Okla.), John Ensign (Nev.) and Bob Corker (Tenn.). The non-lawmakers present included Newt Gingrich, several years removed from his presidential campaign, and Frank Luntz, the long-time Republican wordsmith. Notably absent were Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) -- who, Draper writes, had an acrimonious relationship with Luntz.
For several hours in the Caucus Room (a high-end D.C. establishment), the book says they plotted out ways to not just win back political power, but to also put the brakes on Obama's legislative platform.
"If you act like you're the minority, you're going to stay in the minority," Draper quotes McCarthy as saying. "We've gotta challenge them on every single bill and challenge them on every single campaign."
The conversation got only more specific from there, Draper reports. Kyl suggested going after incoming Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner for failing to pay Social Security and Medicare taxes while at the International Monetary Fund. Gingrich noted that House Ways and Means Chairman Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) had a similar tax problem. McCarthy chimed in to declare "there's a web" before arguing that Republicans could put pressure on any Democrat who accepted campaign money from Rangel to give it back.
"You will remember this day," Draper reports Newt Gingrich as saying on the way out. "You’ll remember this as the day the seeds of 2012 were sown."
Draper's timeline is correct. On Jan. 21, 2009, Kyl aggressively questioned Geithner during his confirmation hearings. On Jan. 28, 2009, House GOP leadership held the line against the stimulus package (Senate GOP leadership would prove less successful in stopping defections).
The votes, of course, can be attributed to legitimate philosophical objection to the idea of stimulus spending as well as sincere concern that the secretary of the Treasury should personally have a clean tax-paying record. But what Draper's book makes clear is that blunt electoral-minded ambitions were the animating force.
Whether or not that's shocking depends on the degree to which one's view of politics has been jaded. What's certainly noteworthy is the timing. When Mitch McConnell said in October 2010 that his party's primary goal in the next Congress was to make Obama a one-term president, it was treated as remarkably candid and deeply cynical. Had he said it publicly in January 2009, it would likely have caused an uproar.
By extension, however, the Draper anecdote also negatively reflects on the Obama administration for failing to appreciate how quickly congressional Republicans would oppose the president's agenda.

flat taxes don't work period..they sound great but they don't work....they only way they m might work is if you eliminate all deductions which of course the republicans will never allow to happen...
What do you think the republicans want? a flat tax with no loop holes or deductions.
Try hearing what the GOP stands for and says, instead of what the special ed show tells you to believe.
lfor1, Do you think they think about the times and the future, are do they just keep dragging out these neanderthal, antique ideas.
Romney will say anything to please whoever he's talking to at the moment. That's why he contradicts himself so much.
He can't say what his plans are, because he has no intention of doing anything for anyone but the rich and the corporations. He can't say that, because then no one will vote for him. Everything is a delaying tactic until the elections.
Thankful Mom - the republicans only think of themselves. As un-American as I have ever seen this new breed they have turned themselves into. Hate and lies is all they think about.
The unions only think of them self's, and their dues.
Notice they want more money.
Notice the kids are left hanging.
And of coarse the blame the mayor.
And you only think of yourself. And not much at that. Ever tried thinking for once of others for once? Or just your hate of Democrats, unions, President Obama and the people of this country.
I have never once posted any of what you claim. I tutor math to kids all the time.
Next I teach music as well.
I'm 65 and doing just fine.
You special ed show liberals are the ones full of hate and name calling.
I disagree with Obama, that does not mean I hate him, in fact I think he would be a great guy to hang out with.
Next I'm a black man that voted for Obama in 2008.
So try to open your mind for once.
Pretty damn funny.
Ifor1, #7, Especially not the ones which affect THEM! They won't touch those loopholes!
Somehow, we 99% will end up holding the bag. Count on that with the GOP. They won't take away one penny from themselves.
http://thinkprogress.org/election/2012/09/07/812831/gop-congressman-tells-voters-that-comparing-immigrants-to-dogs-was-really-a-compliment/?mobile=nc
Congressman Steve King (R-IA) participated in a radio debate with Democratic challenger Christie Vilsack last night, and was given a chance to explain a comment he made in May comparing immigrants to dogs.
But instead of apologizing, or even explaining how he simply misspoke, King told the audience that the comment was really meant as a compliment, and that anyone who interpreted it as an insult — namely, everyone — was simply motivated by partisanship and incapable of cooperation:
Doesn't that mean he wants it to be legal for immigrants to fight?
Explain quantum mechanics, if you can.
Is a branch of physics dealing with physical phenomena at microscopic scales, where the action is on the order of the Planck constant. Quantum mechanics departs from classical mechanics primarily at the quantum realm of atomic and subatomiclength scales. QM provides a mathematical description of much of the dual particle-like and wave-like behavior and interactions of energy and matter.
Finally decided to cut and paste what you don't know, eh, Rob? Why not post it in Korean?
Liberals always asking questions they do not know the answer to.
Ho, You say you are a 65 year old Black man, cow?
OK........
Is it OK if I ask why you are trolling for Romney, when he will hurt you economically, being on SS and Medicare?
Or is this another one of your tall tales? If it is, did I mention that I am actually Angelina Jolie?
Wholly Crap is a guy named Rob who got banned more than anybody else. He used to pretend he was a white guy married to a black woman with a half black, half white child, so nobody could tell him about Obama.
Now, he's pretending he's a black musician that teaches calculus and speaks 5 languages.
Completely full of @!$%#. You'll notice he's on this blog day and night, so he obviously doesn't have the time to do anything else.
The progressive tax code can, and has worked great for the US. "Loopholes" and deductions are good for all of us. Someone either pays the tax, or uses a deduction--which means they go out and spend money on supplies, employees, or a home for the interest deduction.
The revenue problem is that the top tier has been too low for too long.
Romney equals draft dodger equals tax dodger equals truth dodger equals question dodger
Poetry.
Obama's economic and foreign policy is abject failure. He must step down and refuse to seek a second term.
Those who agree, please forward your thoughts.
OMG: Obama Must Go!
