Attorney General Eric Holder is off the hook.
The U.S. Justice Department's inspector general released a report Wednesday following a 19-month investigation into the Operation Fast and Furious scandal. It found no evidence that the department's top leaders, including Holder, knew of the botched effort to trace the flow of thousands of guns to Mexico's drug cartel before it was made public in January 2011.
One of those weapons was implicated in the death of border patrol agent Brian Terry in 2010. Republicans have repeatedly said Holder was to blame.
In the much-anticipated, 471-page report on the program started by President George W. Bush, 14 current federal employees were singled out and could face disciplinary action.
MSNBC host Al Sharpton ripped Republicans who voted to hold the Attorney General in contempt of Congress over documents relating to the Fast and Furious.
"This is too serious to play setups. Let's have evidence and facts guide our judicial system," said Sharpton.

I think the more important fact is that he will be remembered in history as the Attorney General who was held in Contempt of Congress. Just a Bill Clinton will be remembered for being impeached by Congress and disbarred by the Supreme Court for being a sexual pervert and a perjurer. I watched the Congressional hearings on CSPAN and he was a disgrace of a law enforcement officer. Nobody watches MSNBC and Al Sharpton only has credibility with people who are willfully ignorant.

The crooked Att Generals in recent history have been Republicans. And Clinton's affair with Monica hardly make him a pervert. In actuality, the Fast and Furious program was started in October 2009, nine months into the Obama presidency.
Previous programs involving ATF agents allowing guns to “walk” across the border so as to trace them were run during the Bush presidency, but not this particular “field-initiated program.”
White House officials did not respond to a request for comment after the falsehood was pointed out to them.
As for President Obama’s discussion about the Justice Department Inspector General’s report on Fast and Furious, it’s true the Inspector General “concluded that although Attorney General Holder was notified immediately of (Border Patrol) Agent (Brian) Terry’s shooting and death, he was not told about the connection between the firearms found at the scene of the shooting and Operation Fast and Furious.
