Ann Romney wants the fellow Republicans who have become more sharply critical of her husband's campaign to back off.
In an interview Thursday with Radio Iowa, the candidate's wife was asked what she'd like to say to these naysayers, and she responded firmly that they should knock it off.
Stop it. This is hard. You want to try it? Get in the ring. This is hard. And you know it’s an important thing that we’re doing right now and it’s an important election and it is time for all Americans to realize how significant this election is and how lucky we are to have someone with Mitt’s qualifications and experience and know–how to be able to have the opportunity to run this country.
Conservatives from Bill Kristol of The Weekly Standard, Peggy Noonan of The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times' David Brooks, and MSNBC's own Joe Scarborough have called into question the direction of Romney's campaign, particularly after a secretly recorded video emerged earlier this week of Romney speaking critically of nearly half the nation's electorate.
Ann Romney dismissed the criticism as "nonsense and the chattering class," according to a Radio Iowa transcript.
"Of course being president is also hard, which is why we like to see someone who’s going to be our president run an effective campaign," noted MSNBC's Krystal Ball on The Last Word Thursday. "With Mitt Romney…people had high expectations—he’s the businessman, he knows how to run things—but his campaign has been a complete disaster."

well.........i must be part of the 47% because i don't have millions or billions. i have paid taxes ever since i was 16 and at times have had to work 2 jobs to make it but i strongly resent being told i am a slacker....and by the way i pay the wages of the government people who make much more than me. and i am a registered voter. i have voted in every election since i have been 18 and could vote.
If the 47 percent comment is correct then I guess all those veterans, people with Down syndrome, Mental Retardation, developmental disabilities, Autism Specturm Disorders, elderly in nursing homes, working poor earning tax credit are all guilty of not helping to pay taxes so that the wealthy can continue using their loophoop holes to avoid contributing their fair share to the country they use to make their fortunes. Mrs Romney said what you would expect the spouse of a politician running for office to say. Having said that I'm beginning to wonder about Mrs Romney. She said it's really hard running for President. Wow, who knew? Doesn't she see that she is whining while once again showing her sense of entitlement? Did she think that the American public was going to treat her husband as if he was Caesar? All Mitt had to do was show up and it was over? Her whining is consistent with a previous statement she made to a question about why Romney was running. She answered in part because it was their turn. She obviously forgot that others were in the ring and were driven out by her husband's multimillion dollar campaign to trash their reputations and policies. Mrs Romney would do well to be the dutiful spouse and leave criticism to her husband, less she risk getting the moniker of modern day, Marie Antoinette.

This move came in response to an unconstitutional measure, HB 2281, which was specifically created to dismantle the highly successful MAS-TUSD department.
Amid a massive backlash, TUSD officials have backpedaled, claiming that the confiscation of the books that took place after the 10 January MAS suspension does not constitute a banned books list. While TUSD claims that only seven book titles were ordered boxed and carried off, the fact is that the confiscation – in some cases, in front of the students – involved more than the seven titles.
