The Tea Party’s crusade against voter fraud by way of suppression and intimidation was flipped on its head earlier this week as election officials in six Florida counties launched an investigation into potentially hundreds of cases of suspected voter fraud by a GOP consulting firm that was paid almost $3 million by the RNC to register Republican voters in swing states.
There’s been lots of talk from GOPers about cracking down on voter fraud, and now Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., wants to make sure equal attention is paid to the crime of voter intimidation. Boxer stopped by The Ed Show on Friday to discuss a letter she recently wrote to the State Department inquiring about their handling of voter intimidation. She told Ed Schultz:
“I know everyone’s paying attention, I know the Obama campaign is ready to act on this. But I realized that there are two important federal laws, the Voting Rights Act, passed in the 60s, and Voter Registration Act passed in the 90s, that have criminal and civil penalties for people who try to intimidate a voter. And I wanted to make sure that the Justice Department is moving on these cases. So I did hear from them today, and although they can’t confirm or deny any particular case because I wrote about Ohio, they did say that they had opened up 42 investigations this year, which is good to know.
They are pursuing, enforcing these laws, and they said I could say that anyone within the sound of my voice, anyone in this country who feels they’re being intimidated can call their nearest FBI office because it is a federal offense to harass someone, to intimidate someone. Think about all the people that worked so hard and struggled and went to prison and put their life on the line for the right to vote.”
Schultz asked Boxer to comment on a video that surfaced on Wednesday of a young girl in Colorado registering people to vote – but only if they were voting for Mitt Romney. The girl said she was being paid by the County Clerk’s office.
Boxer said it’s very simple, black and white: “That’s against the law.”

There is no voter fraud Ed. That's the reason for blocking all the voter ID laws, right? BTW, are you still beating your dying wife?
You are one of the worst forms of human and and it is quite obvious you have no chance in Hell to get to heaven if you even know what that means. You are Hatred -self loathing and despicable and obviously care about nothing-you are a waste of breath and I hope you like the heat! Ed-Keep on pissing idiots like this one off! God be with you and your family as you deal with life like every other real human being in difficult times.
you are brain dead, now take the rest of you with it and lie down.
Pay no attention to him, he's a teabagger, and we all know what they do for a hobby.
Even I think that comment is over the top....there is no place for that...
just saying...
BDL......Way over the top...No need for that.
Wow- I've never read such a hate filled response discussing hate filled responses in my whole life.
Patricia, Rhonda- learn to not fill yourselves with hate. Read the above.
I think that was the wife before this one. She had to get a restraining order on him.
And that has what to do with teabagger voter fraud? Losers backing losers, gotta love it!
Bill's only experience is with whores, so he thinks that's the way you treat a woman.
Now come on the blog and ask us why we don't treat you with respect.
When they have no defense, attack with BS that has nothing to do with the topic. Violation of the vine rules also.
Ah no TRC that would be him hiding in the closet with his Palin in a bikini holding an AK-47 because contact with others is impossible when your hiding under your bed because there be 3 black panthers running lose in Philly.
Why get mad at me, it is a fact.
It's nothing new. IF it were true, it's at least 15 years old. OH, that's right billy can't figure out what year it is. And he cares nothing about the rules.
The leopard can't change its stripes. Oh wait, Ed can, he didn't make it as a conservative commentator so he changed sides. So much easier to convince lemmings and the unions are so profitable.
Wrong again Billy Boy, he just changed sides when he found out what a giant POS party the republicants turned into.
Republithugs trying to get in the face of those they think will vote Democratic - that is non-white - richly deserve a beat down, just like the psychotics that scream 'murderer' and intimidate women seeking a legal safe abortion.
For good reason Romney has the support of 0% of African-Americans in an August poll.
That's because no gimme dat
Mac, could you post proof of your statement. I think you are telling stories that aren't based upon fact.
First, what the hell would you know about facts Rusty. Second, google voter intimidation 2008 and you'll have all the facts you need.
And there has already been cases of voter intimidation reported. All be damned. It was done by the GOP. Surprise.
Larry74: Are you saying the GOP would cheat to try and win an election? Say it ain't so?
They already have. And they're trying to do it again.
Sorry Rex. It's so.
@MacGruber, RE: Comment #4
What some of those people deserve would be a revocation of their US Citizenship along with a one-way ticket to North Korea or other like-governed nation so they'll have first-hand experience of what it's like to live in a country with dictatorial government, so they'll have that bitter taste of what it's like living under a government they don't like.
Perhaps such an experience would broaden their consciences sufficiently, such that they'll realize that it's worth having the risk of living in a free country where there is a risk that they won't like the style of government they live under, yet realize there is a purpose to having free and fair elections.
The attempt by any group of people with a particular political philosophy, to impose the style of government they prefer on those who disagree with their political philosophy, completely ignores the impetus that led to the establishment of the USA as a country free of British Imperial Rule, from a desire to be free of Taxation without Representation to a firm disbelief in the Divine Right of Kings, and the rights of Free People to those rights delineated by the First Amendment, most definitely including Freedom of Religion, which inherently includes freedom from all religion, the freedom to be an agnostic or an atheist.
At least as important as individual freedom is for individuals to realize and accept the fact that individual freedom cannot be so vast that it imposes on the individual freedoms of others - which is exactly what ALEC's agenda is - to interfere with the freedom of all who disagree with establishment of a Corporatocratic form of government, completely subverting the US Constitution, to remake our government from Being Of, By, and For the People to Being Of, By, and For Corporate America, which is the whole point of the massive voter suppression drives engineered by ALEC, so that the next President would be a Gordon Gecko clone.
Well said CosmicChuck..
Well, I guess I have to assume that Mac was indeed telling stories. Lots of responses about other things, but none that back up his goofy statement that polling shows zero.zero support from African-Americans.
That's because blacks vote black in lockstep because they have been brainwashed and have no thoughts of their own. As an example, howard stern interviewed numerous blacks in new york and asked then if they agreed with the policies of obama. They all agreed that they supported these policies. The only problem is that they were george bush's policies. It was hilarious, but highlighted the "lockstep" mentality of blacks. Oh yeah, blacks thought oj was innocent too.
You will never get it rusty just go back to hiding under your bed like a good little tea bagged republican where you can feel safe and secure, you are not ready to handle reality.
The only people marching lock step is tea bagged republicans, Why just last May they were saying Robme hood was unelectable yet when their corporate masters whistled they came jumping on the robme hood wagon.
So lou, you find that humiliating the miss informed to be a funny joke. Shame on you. Who would go to this extreme is imoral.
Nope- whom, you are as goofy as ever. Up above, your liberal buddy, Mac, is claiming that the Black people are in lockstep, single minded style. Not me making the accusation. I happen to believe that AfricanAmericans have as much diversity of thought as any other demographic group. As do women.
Funny. A right-winger talking about voting in lockstep and not understanding issues.
Now that's entertainment.
You say, "funny," I say, "emblematic."
Trc- no, this right winger is only responding to a silly response from a liberal that suggested women and minorities were in lock step. And, I find it funny that it could be over your head and you would misinterpret it as such. Not surprising... Only funny...
If you’re planning to vote for Mitt Romney in November, I can only assume the
following:
You’re relieved that his campaign isn’t dictated to by fact-checkers –
because facts totally confuse you.
You’re not bothered that he amassed a fortune by outsourcing US jobs –
because yours wasn’t one of them.
You’re duly impressed by the fact that he’s not afraid to look you straight
in the eye when he lies to you.
You’ve traditionally voted for the candidate who owns a car elevator.
You lost a bet – big time.
You like a candidate who is willing to change his position from one minute to
the next – because eventually he’ll say something you actually agree with.
You’re not a fan of the truth – never have been, never will be.
You did so well during the last economic crisis, you can’t wait to live
through another one.
You hate dogs.
You’re impressed with being offered a clear choice: (a) he was lying about
Bain then, or (b) he’s lying about Bain now.
You can’t help but admire someone who’s never met a man he didn’t like to
fire.
You’re also a fan of America’s Favorite Pastime – dancing horse
competitions.
You want to vote for a guy who can’t be attacked on his ethics – because he
doesn’t have any.
You loathe big crowds, so his campaign rallies appeal to you – especially all
of those empty parking spaces still available, even if you arrive an hour
late.
You’re absolutely dazzled by non-specifics and vagueries.
You admire his consistency in being as equally insulting to Americans as he
is to our foreign allies.
You think being called “you people” is a term of endearment.
You’ve noticed that he is white – very white.
You believe sound foreign policy starts with stashing one’s money in foreign
bank accounts.
You like the notion that he can keep a secret – like the ones buried in his
tax returns.
You figure that McCain declaring him to be a less viable candidate than Sarah
Palin is somehow a plus.
You think there’s nothing more patriotic than a draft-dodger who didn’t
acknowledge the troops in his convention speech.
You were told by a talking head on Fox News to vote for him – and can
mindlessly do what you’re told as well as the next guy.
You’re currently penning a goodbye, cruel world suicide note – and
voting for Romney will serve as your final “@!$%# everyone!” act before you
die.
You are a good Christian who doesn’t want their tax dollars wasted on caring
for the sick, the poor, the hungry, the homeless, et cetera.
You dream every night about how great things would be if someone as stupid as
you was running the country.
You’re sexually turned-on by the very notion of Magic Underwear.
You don’t pay attention to what’s going on in politics – and are determined
to prove it with your vote.
You believe that being intelligent is highly overrated, and being
well-informed is for sissies.
You agree with Santorum’s comment that “smart people will never be on our
side” and will proudly stand with the other stupid people on the Republican
side.
You can really get behind a president who has written off 47% of your fellow
citizens as moochers – and that includes parasites like veterans, the elderly,
children, and those too poor to pay their fair share.
You believe that multi-millionaires deserve a tax break – along with
multi-billion-dollar corporations.
You think starting another war or two is a great idea!
You earn $16,500 a year – and you think you’re one of the wealthy class that
Mitt will be giving tax breaks to.
You’ve always believed that women and minorities should not have the same
rights as old white men.
You were completely won over by Ann Romney’s sob story about eating off an
ironing board.
You believe that arrogance and stupidity are a winning combination when it
comes to the presidency.
Your “bucket list” includes doing something totally insane – and voting for
Mitt fills the bill.
You want this non-opening windows on airplanes issue to be fully
investigated and rectified.
You honestly believe that sending people without health insurance to the ER
means their treatment is absolutely free! Hey, problem solved!
You crave being on the losing side of a presidential race – because bitchin’
about it for the next four years is what you live for, and what you do best
http://www.democratsforprogress.com/2012/09/24/planning-to-vote-for-romney/
Thankful Mom,
You are really funny. I had to giggle reading your list. Inspired me to come up with a few of my on if your voting for Obama:
You must need a cell phone
You like the flavor of dog with other tropical fruits
The man got your money
You honestly beleive that flooding our medical system with millions of new claims is going to provide better medical service
That Biden is smart...
That Obama earned his Nobel prize
You don't want to spend your money on others, but don't mind stealing your neighbors to give to the needy
That all a business needs to be sucessful is to be next to a road
That Obama is going to close Gitmo
That trying terrioist in downtown New York is a good idea
That people that built this country should be eliminated.
Free money is free...
You are good with your children and grandchildren living in a third world country
If mom is worried about fact checker, it would seem she needs to go down ballot to find someone to vote for. I had assumed she was for Obama, but I really don't think she is a hypocrite, so she must not be.
Didn't Ann Coulter say, just yesterday, on The View that their voter suppression tactics are an effort to combat voter fraud? They are the worst creeps on earth.
Ann Coulter has it all.
She's a Republican, she's rich and she's hot!!!!!
Surprised Ann had time in her busy schedule to go on View. Oh, yeah, plenty of time for people on View. Maybe not for foreign leaders, though.
I also saw where Obama is encouraging Chinese investment in USA. Just not wind farms. Be a shame if they created electricity for our grid...
Wasn't it Mann Coulter that said if romneys our candidate, we will lose? Thats probably the the most correct she's ever been in her entire life.
Ente. If you think shes "hot" i've got a gopher you'll really like. and she's anything but intelligent.
Did Mitt Romney Commit Voter Fraud In Massachusetts in 2010?
Michael Kelley|April 20, 2012|
This question has been asked before, but it takes on new significance now that Romney has all but clinched the Republican presidential nomination and Stratfor emails accuse Barack Obama's 2008 campaign of stuffing ballot boxes.
The issue arises from the ballot Romney cast for Republican Scott Brown in January 2010 in the special election to replace the late Sen. Ted Kennedy.
The former Massachusetts governor did not own property in the state in 2010 and registered to vote from an address in the unfinished basement of an 8,000 square-foot Belmont mansion owned by his son Tagg.
Last June GOP political consultant Fred Karger filed a complaint with Massachusetts state election officials alleging that Romney voted in several elections without residing in the state.
Karger spoke with members of the Mormon Temple and Meetinghouse in Belmont — where the Romney's attended weekly church services when they lived there — and one told Karger that she "hadn’t seen the Romneys since 2008."
The Romneys' former realtor told Krugar that they moved to California and allegedly Ann Romney told him the same when he saw her at a conference in Las Vegas where Romney was speaking.
The Romneys bought a $12.5 million home in La Jolla, Calif., in May 2008 and sold their home in Belmont in April 2009 (for $3.5 million). In May 2009 the Romneys began describing their $10 million estate in New Hampshire as their primary residence (presumably to prepare for the 2012 election).
President Obama has disclosed his 2012 state tax return (from Illinois) whereas Romney has not (from ?).
From Mother Jones:
Residency issues have plagued Mitt Romney in the past. When he campaigned for governor of Massachusetts in 2002, he ran into trouble because he had switched his residency to Utah three years earlier when he moved to Park City to take over the struggling Salt Lake Olympic operation. The move technically made him ineligible to run for office in Massachusetts, which requires seven years of continuous state residency before a candidate is eligible to run. After a lot of legal wrangling and paying back taxes, he was finally allowed on the ballot.
According to Massachusetts law, a residence for voter registration purposes as “where a person dwells and which is the center of his domestic, social, and civil life” and anyone found guilty of committing voter fraud faces up to five years in jail and a $10,000 fine.

Ente: You forgot Ann also has a flying broom and a psychopathic personality. I guess that is the perfect Republican woman. Ha Ha Ha!
Well, never having had a job and thinking you're a working woman is also part of it.
Ente - Hot? Ah, wow you must like ugly women...
Too bad that neither of the Anns have room in their head for brains, ente. You notice no men are attach to coulter.....hmmmmmm?
TRC...and you accuse the Republicans of having a war on women after you make an idiotic sexist statement like that?
just saying...
storm--------------you are one sick person <<>>one of the sickly i seen come from the fox noise net but if you stay here on MSNBC blogging site you might learn something-------i did said (might) because you seen like you have a very hard head
Gjelly...
and exactly what did I say that indicates that I am a "sick person"?
Was it that I dared to call out TRC for telling a woman who has raised children that she is not a working woman?
just saying
Trc- you do appear to be sexist in our views. Are you male Chris or female Chris?
Also, you need to understand that Dems have been claiming there has been no voter fraud. That's why they fight any reforms. Do you liberals think about the bigger picture at all when you post, or is it just goofiness like the above. Claiming fraud doesn't exist while claiming fraud exists? Can't wait to hear this justification...
The GOP/Tea party has almost zero evidence of voter fraud in any of these states that have enacted Voter ID laws. All of these laws are an attempt to suppress the votes of those who would vote Democratic such as minorities, Seniors, college students, and those without driver's licenses. Those who challenge voters and intimidate them at the polls are committing a federal offense. You can not violate someone's right to vote.
http: //www.brennancenter.org/content/resource/policy_brief_on_voter_identification/
Also most states in the registration process require new voters to show proof of residence with a utility bill with an address or some form of picture identification. Also county and state election officials go through the lists of citizens who are deceased, moved out of the county or city or to a new address to update their voting lists. So here is the deal, the GOP/Tea Party is violating the 1965 Voters Rights Act. Obviously, after this round of elections, we will need to fight old battles all again because the GOP is on the wrong end of history and demographics and they know it.
http: //www.justice.gov/crt/about/vot/intro/intro_b.php
We just are not producing enough old angry white guys to replace the ones who are dying off. The extreme right winged GOP is a party ready for the political cemetery and this November's election will help this process along. If the GOP is going to survive they will have to get rid of the Tea Party and appeal to a whole cross section of real people again which they are failing to do with Hispanics, blacks, and independent women. This hurts the GOP badly in swing states like Virginia, Ohio, and North Carolina with growing Hispanic populations. Here is a quote from Senator Lindsay Graham:
'“The demographics race we’re losing badly,” said Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (S.C.). “We’re not generating enough angry white guys to stay in business for the long term.”'
http: //dailyitem.com/elect2012/x277244235/GOP-faces-hurdles-in-attempts-to-expand-demographic-base
You can not violate someone's right to vote.
Yes you can. The Black Panthers have been doing it for years with the blessing of Obama and Holter.......I wonder why!!
Ever heard of google?
Ente: You go interfere with someone's right to vote at the polls and see what happens to you. Go harass people standing in a voting line or try to deny them their right to vote. I just bet you that federal authorities will be hauling you off if a complaint gets made to the FBI. The Black Panthers silliness is an old propaganda line from the GOP filled with conservative hubris. The worst offenders are the states that passed GOP Voter ID laws that are in clear violation of the 1965 Voter's Rights act.
John. Don't confuse the little people. We know they have no desire for truth. They haven't heard the "Black Panthers" haven't been around for years. OH, they mean that new group that want to call themselves that. That's been debunked more times than mitt has flip flopped.
Ente trying to earn those Rove bucks.
While hiding under his bed because 3 black panthers are living in Philly, never mind that Fox news pays the 3 black panthers to scare people that give up their rights because brown people scare them.
Ente: You go interfere with someone's right to vote at the polls and see what happens to you
I can't do that. I'd end up in jail. I don't have that 1 special qualification that exempts me from being held responsible for my actions
you have been here long enough to use the tools....
There is no one here that is not responsible for their actrions. If they say something iresponsible they are taking chances. Please don't generalize about us. We are not all the same people. Nor do we agree with all people.
"While hiding under his bed because 3 black panthers are living in Philly, never mind that Fox news pays the 3 black panthers to scare people that give up their rights because brown people scare them."...
Whom It May..you really have a thing against White People dont you..or is your brain just that pickled by Liberalism?
Ha Ha Ha! Bill, the guy constantly attacking Ed Schultz, Chris Matthews and anyone else he can for race baiting is criticizing someone else AGAIN for having a thing against what he perceives to be other peoples bigoted views? Ha Ha Ha! That's rich!
What were you just saying about Sam Jackson Billy Boy? You didn't agree with his right to free speech or something like that? Ha Ha Ha!
One surefire way to uncover the corruption in the Republican Party is to simply listen to what they are accusing others of doing.
Americans, please join your fellow Americans on a FB page I created called Americans Storm the Streets Nov 7,2012 (if Romney steals this election)!!! Please share with your friends and family... we need folks to be ready to go the morning after the election if Romney tries to steal this like they did in 2000... Please join us!!!
Americans, please join your fellow Americans on a FB page I created called Americans Storm the Streets Nov 7, 2012 (if Romney steals this election). Please join us... we need to be ready to go the morning after the election if we see an attempt to rig this vote like in Florida in 2000... Mr. Ed is correct... We are on to that and we will not stand by and allow that to happen again... join us and share!
Trey
If the election is stolen it will be on Nov 6th, not the 7th.
Oh I get it, you'll be a day late and a dollar short....again!!!!!
LOL
btw How will you know the election has been stolen? Will Obama declare the election stolen and refuse to leave? Just what do you plan to do? Have a million man Cry-in??
Keep your words short and sweet. You may have to eat them.
It will be hate mongers like you that give it away. That's all you've posted from day 1. Hate, lies, racist remarks and good old right wing talking points. You mam, are a disgrace to the human race. And you prove it with every post.
Why are conservatives so afraid of everyone's right to vote? You would think in the 21st century we would be happy to have all eligible Americans vote with minimum hassle and inconvenience. Our country is strongest when all Americans vote. We need public financing of all federal elections and an amendment to the Constitution that overturns the "Citizen's United" decision. Robert Reich said that if a corporation was a person, Mississippi and Texas would be executing corporations. Nancy Pelosi has this right, public financing for all federal elections.
That's why the Republicans are against it. They don't want a strong country; they want a weak country they can manipulate for their own profit.
It's interesting that the same party that's trying to suppress voting is also trying to eliminate the department of education.
Do you think the Federal Department of Education is doing a good job?....Let me guess...they just need more funding.....
In your case, they failed completely.
TRC....sorry that I'm not in your category of intelligence oh Omnipotent One...
You have nothing to add to the discussion....so make yourself useful and get me and tc a beer.
Get up off the sidewalk and get yourself one. You must have panhandled enough to buy one.
You got something against panhandlers Chris???
Don't worry, patsy. If I see you, I'll give you a handout. Never saw a rightie to turn down a nickel.
Chris...again you are here hanging out on a Saturday Night....If your the big young buck that you claim to be....why are you hanging out with us "old farts".....you should be out zooming the girls.....what gives? and you call me Patsy???
You've definitely run out of things to say. You aren't even calling me a socialist.
And apparently, you believe in the Groucho Marx quote, "I'd never want to be in a club that would have me as a member."

Just lie on the sidewalk and shut up, patsy.
Your best day and my worst......my money is still on me....don't act like your something special....because if your a young single man and you are blogging on here on a Saturday night.........that tells me your just tired of rejection and you have given up....my advice to you is put down the ho ho's and pull up your boot straps and get out there.....
A song for you Chris.....maybe you and John should find a way to get together....

I've been hearing for 3 months now that there is virtually no voter fraud. This was the argument against the Republican push for Voter I.D. laws. Now there is and it's suddenly enough to swing an election because it's done by Republican? Additionally; Ed sure jumps around a lot to try to relate things. Alleged voter registration fraud in Florida=Young Colorado woman "getting out the vote" but saying she is registering voters for Romeny (which I'm pretty sure is legal)=voter intimidation in California according to Barbara Boxer?
Damn near incoherent. But you spelled most of the words right. Kudos.
RE:
Isn't it against the law for any government office to pay anyone to register people to vote, even when it's totally nonpartisan? I can understand the County Clerk's Office asking for people to volunteer, as a matter of civic pride, to help with a completely nonpartisan voter registration drive.
But, to have any exchange of money involved, on the part of the County Clerk's Office, even if it isn't taxpayers money, certainly provides at least the possibility of a conflict of interest. For a non-governmental organization to pay (by the signature or whatever criteria) for getting people registered to vote, so long as the voter registration drive is completely unconditional with regard to party affiliation and candidate.
I am just waiting for the day when it is said Mitt Romney did something criminal.
The fact that he is allowed to run for the Presidency is criminal. His dog has more qualification than he does.
It already has been. See post #5.5.
And, of course, we don't know about years 2001 to 2009 tax returns, if he may have committed felony tax evasion in those years either. The IRS isn't saying anything, due to the privacy laws, but it will be interesting if, after the election, that we hear of an audit for all those years. There is plenty of smoke. Now, lets see if there is a fire.
If you look at the hand of the Young girl committing election fraud for Mitt Romney, she is wearing a LDS Mormon ring on her hand! She is breaking the law! She should have been arrested to be taught a lesson.
Notice how the republicon operative uses the term allegation to refer to republicon election fraud, and throws in that it comes from both sides. There is nothing to speak of on the left. The republicon/facist party however has big money, big machine, right-wing think tanks and ALEC driving voter suppression. Not only that, but they have actually been found guilty of vote caging and all kinds of vile dirty tricks. Rush with his operation chaos. ..Books can be written on republicon efforts to thwart democracy.
my daughter was a die hard republican. was because her son a 14 year old now has developed a long standing health issue that will last him his life time. now she can relate to the pre-existing health issue of Obamacare and is seriously thinking about her votes ahead.
why I mention this here is I was a large part of her being republican along with my family. raised repub and a die hard one myself until Bush got done....never again will I put party ahead of beliefs.
the young girl reminded me of my daughter. out doin what she believes in I hope and probably relating her upbringing.
I'm all for that....but....never.....never did I teach my daughter to knowingly try to cheat the American people of their rights as citizens.
this girls parents and mentors should take a long look at themselves if they have to use the young ones for their own selfish gains.........
Kids are easier to manipulate than adults. That's why they go for them.
Chris - not only are kids easier to manipulate but the elderly can be misdirected very easily. I had to explain the facts to my father many, many times as he got older( he died at 94). He eventually let me mange his finances, etc. and I kept him solvent until he had to go into a long term care facility. Fortunately that was only for one month.
this girl should go to prison.
I agree with Vera, it is high time that these cases are investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law....
What about the last election when the black panthers dressed in uniform and stood at the polls to intimidate voters?
That one doesnt count because they were liberals...
just saying...
You mean this malarky?

No Proof in New Black Panther Case: Official
By
A Bush appointee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights denounced allegations by some pundits that the Justice Department is refusing to pursue a voting rights case against members of the New Black Panther Party because of race, and suggested that the charges being made by right-wing figures are politically motivated.
Conservative broadcasters and websites have claimed that the Obama administration is dropping prosecution of New Black Panther activists who were videotaped outside a Philadelphia polling station on Election Day 2008, making intimidating remarks; one man was carrying a nightstick.
Earlier this month former Justice Department lawyer and Republican activist J. Christian Adams testified to the commission that senior officials in the department are not applying voting rights laws in a race-neutral way, by refusing to press charges against African Americans on these issues.
A recent Media Matters investigation has debunked charges that the Obama administration withdrew criminal charges against the Panthers (in fact, the Bush administration decided not to pursue criminal charges, with Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez testifying that the Bush Justice Department "determined that the facts did not constitute a prosecutable violation of the criminal statutes"; a civil lawsuit was filed in the last days of the Bush administration, and a judgment won by the Obama Justice Department in May 2009).
Media Matters also found no evidence that any voters in the predominantly-black voting district had been prevented from voting.
Appearing on CBS' "Face the Nation" Sunday, the commission's vice chair, Abigail Thernstrom, said, "We have no direct evidence that [the NBP activists] actually intimidated anybody, stopped them from voting."
Thernstrom even characterized the case, in a recent column published by the National Review, as "small potatoes."
Of Adams' charges that DOJ is discriminatory in prosecution, Thernstrom said, "We certainly have no direct evidence that anybody in the Justice Department said 'We're not going to prosecute this case because we have racial double standards: We protect blacks, we don't protect whites.'
"I think the evidence is extremely weak," Thernstrom told anchor Bob Schieffer. "If the Justice Department chooses - and I would be delighted if it did so - to send to us, for instance, somebody who is at that alleged brown bag meeting in which [Deputy Assistant Attorney General] Julie Fernandez said, 'We don't prosecute cases [against] blacks …' fine. I'm an evidence girl, really. I want evidence."
Wall Street Journal columnist John Fund, also appearing on "Face the Nation," argued that not all the facts are known, "because the Justice Department is stonewalling subpoenas issued by the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
"Two African-American poll watchers testified they were intimidated," said Fund. "We saw testimony that the voters said they turned around and said they would came back; we don't know if they ever came back."
Fund said there was a pattern of "consistent politicization" in the Justice Department, listing examples of Voting Rights Act decisions in the South.
"North Carolina is predominantly African-American," Fund said, "and voted to have non-partisan elections. The Justice Department said you can't do that. You have to continue to give black voters the cue of Democrat versus Republican so they'll know who to vote for.
"Georgia wanted to take Social Security data and verify the U.S. citizenship of people who were registering to vote; the Justice Department said you couldn't do that.
"I think the Justice Department is clearly stonewalling these subpoenas because they have something to hide. Do I know exactly what they're hiding? I don't."
Washington Post columnist Michael Gerson said this and another racially tinged case, the media flap about Shirley Sherrod and Andrew Breitbart, are indicative of a deeper societal problem:
"I think we're in a moment where you have people on the left and on the right that want to take political polarization and turn it into racial polarization for their own purposes, to get Internet hits or to get supporters or other things," Gerson said. "That's a very, very disturbing trend. So you have it with the New Black Panther case, in my view, where you take an incident and try to turn it into a narrative when it really doesn't justify that."
He called the misuse of racial issues in the media is damaging in a lot of ways: "These wounds are very close to the surface in America. When people take these issues and attempt to use them for political reasons, when they feed rage, they're doing something very, very dangerous. I think, you know, historically it's a real problem."
Thernstrom went further: In a recent interview with Politico, she said that conservative members of the commission had a political aim - to use the New Black Panthers issue to "topple" the Obama administration.
"My fellow conservatives on the commission had this wild notion they could bring [Attorney General] Eric Holder down and really damage the president," Thernstrom told Politico.

More fake noise.....even when it is proved to be not true they still repeat the lie. They just shut up and crawl away and bring it back to the next blog as if it were true, and they love to spread this stuff and lies. Yet, they never correct th lie or stop spreading it. They love to believe such things because guess what.......?
Two points that cause me to have doubts about this article above...
1) I dont know exactly what he is referring to, but North Carolina is not "predominantly" African-American as far as our population is concerned.
2) Intimidation does not have to mean that someone was denied the right to vote, it simply means that the presence of a person(s) could influence any person who goes to a particular polling place. And yes...if I saw two goons standing outside a polling place with 2 foot long batons in their hands, I would be intimidated...regardless of whether the goons were black, white, hispanic or asian.
just saying...
More 'I reject your reality and only accept my own', 'eh stormtrooper? Thats what you ppl are famous for.
Just say'in
which reality are you referring to JIT...the reality is that NC is not predominantly African American...the reality is that intimidation can take many forms....
just saying...
No, because you 'think' two points you don't agree with makes you doubt the whole article. I don't know what you teabaggers are more full of, yourselves, or sh**
yea...I would hate for the need for inconvenient things like facts and accuracy to cloud my judgement...
just saying...
John-What's the difference?
Good point Chris.
what wrong being african american or any thing else<>mr storm---------i told you in an early blog that your are a sick person== its fox brain people like you why this country is at a stand still
Gjelly...
if you are going to try an challenge me on my statements, at least make an accurate accusation which has merit. I never said anything about there being anything wrong with being african american or anything else...I simply made a factual statement...North Carolina is not predominantly African American....in 2011, 22% of the population in NC was African American...that does not qualify as predominantly. Plain and simple fact, whether you like it or not.
And I will ask you again...in what way am I sick?
just saying...
Will everyone WAKE THE ____— UP?
This election is way to important to rely on slanted media opinion to decide for us who will lead Our Nation!
Right now, at this moment, we must ALL commit to stop paying attention to every single one of them, and knuckle-down and think on our own before voting.
This one is gonna be over before is over...With early voting it will soon become apparent that Woolard has lost...Now its just the seats that need to be contested. And it seems that Clint will have plenty of empty Republican ones to address....The Tea Party did what to you? No John I don't have a tissue! I don't think Nancy can do that with your gavel!
I guess not everybody believes in one set of rules.
it seems we have someone who believes in the golden rule....you know that he who has the gold makes the rules....hey Robme....welcome to democracy.........
It looks as if he's got a fly in his anointment!
Buzzard off Woolard!
Rules are for those they want to control.

Rules were made to be broken, gutted, twisted,
changed, altered, hijacked
Posted
Sunday, 26 August 2012. If you care about the rules that will govern the
Republican Party nationally both this week at the convention in Tampa, Florida,
and for the next four years and beyond, then a lot is going on right now that
you are going to need to come up to speed on. And it's not easy to keep up,
because most media outlets don't consider rules to matter much, hence the very
spotty reporting on the same.
But rules matter a great deal. And never
in my lifetime have the rules that are supposed to matter at a Republican
national convention been violated so flagrantly by forces loyal to the
presumptive nominee as we have seen in the last several days, weeks, and
months.
Here's one you might have missed.
According to the
Huffington Post:
Morton Blackwell has done more to keep the
Republican National Committee's rules fair over the last several decades, than
any other person alive. Any national delegates or RNC members attending the
convention in Tampa who stands for fair process and grassroots control of the
party must do everything possible to inform themselves of the fights that Mr.
Blackwell is waging on behalf of Republican voters everywhere and in opposition
to those who would turn this and future conventions into a playground for
well-heeled candidates and their insider consultants. Said Mr.
Blackwell:
Blackwell is exactly correct.
According to the Huffington Post, Mr. Ryder
pulled his proposal and instead secured the adoption of a bizarre change that
requires that state delegations that wish to place a candidate's name in
nomination notify the convention one hour in advance of their plan to do so.
I'm still trying to figure out what possible motivation could be behind such a
strange rule.
Mr. Ryder is violating a fundamental maxim with regard to
free and fair elections.
In the United States, we call it moving the
goal posts.
Anyone who understands that expression should be inherently
offended that operatives for Mitt Romney would be trying to undertake such last
minute changes to the rules that govern the convention. Such rules changes
should be prohibited at this stage of the process and any rules change adopted
at this point should not take effect until the 2016 cycle. This should go
without saying. But in the world of ramrodded Romney elections, these kinds of
inviolable principles have next to no place.
"Anything for a win. Lie.
Cheat. Steal. Arrest. Assault. Because in the end, it's not how you pulled it
off, it's just that you did." Isn't that what we have learned from Mitt
Romney's minions, like John Ryder this year?
yep Dem fly's bite sometimes..........
have a good one xxx ooo.......gotta go and man are ribs hurtin..........
you got that right TM....have a good one........gotta go........
MEee tooo later.....
Seems being neck deep isn't deep enough huh? The next time we see the Teapublican party will be when a archeologist finds them.
hahaha....no I was a moderate....I mean a rino....come on vote for me again....hahahaha....promise to be a good little rino........hahahaha
Oh so long!!!! The Woolard Mammoth fell victim to the Tar Sands Pits!
Finding them really isn't that hard, just follow the fly's!
Eric Holder's job is secure...He's gonna be busy! HELP WANTED!
GOMER!
Use to be they would say "Leroy was here".
Does anyone think these tactics by the Republican party are surprising? The whole country watched the Republicans put party over country for the last four years bringing congress to a halt with blatant obstruction, in order to win this election. There is nothing they will not do to keep our president from serving a second term. WE have a front row seat of Good vs Evil.
Republicans put party over country
The Republicans put country over Obama, party over Obama....taking a dump over Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No one is surprised at all.
What have they been doing for most of my memory.
They just can't hid it anymore.
You would think they would have some shame?
Republican first and to hell with everything else that is decent and good.....they will make it eviel.
Hey Karen...who was bringing our country to a halt when Obama and the dems had control of everything for 2 solid years? Come on, answer that. Stop repeating what you hear on the Ed farce show.
You had better believe we cannot afford another 4 years of this guy in the white house. He is the worst president this country has ever had. And it has nothing to do with his skin color.
Have you been listening to the news lately. He still thinks the turmoil in the middle east is because of a video. Is this who you want protecting us? Wake up!
He had control for 2 solid years...no opposition at all. And did nothing but push through a bogus health care law that he has been granting waivers to all of his friends on it because it is so bad. Wake up!
China? He has spent more of YOUR money in China since he has been president than anyone ever. Wake up!
He has to go.
Ha Ha Ha! Jenny loves to make the false right wing argument that Obama and the Dems had control of Congress for two full years. The problems is they are what we call "low information voters." They get all their "news," from propagandists like Fox and Limbaugh. They probably don't know and will never accept the facts that in reality because of Senator Kennedy's passing and the month's it took to replace him, in addition to the month upon month the Republicans kept Senator Al Frankin in court challenging his election results, the fact that Alan Spector switched sides, and that Sen Byrd went to the hospital, means that the Dems controlled the senate for less than two months.
Guys like Jenny poke their heads up out of Limbaugh's rabbit hole every few days to spout out nonsense. It's best just to ignore them. Here's some actual facts complete with a spreadsheet....

You would think they would have some shame?
When your pest control company gets rid of the cockroaches in your home do you thing the technician should be ashamed?
LOL
It was actually 24 days.
