New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie speaks at a town hall meeting Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, in Lacey Township, N.J.
Chris Christie has some bad news for Republicans who say the polls are biased against Mitt Romney: "I don't buy that"
The tough-talking New Jersey governor and Romney surrogate appeared on ABC's This Week, and said, "You look at every different poll and look at its methodology and you can say whether it's a good or bad poll. But do I think there's a concerted effort to skew the polls against Governor Romney? No."
Several prominent Republics argued last week that the polls are misleading because the people conducting them are interviewing too few Republicans, among other methodological problems. Christie, who also made appearances on NBC's Meet the Press and CBS' Face the Nation on Sunday, acknowledged that Romney has had a hit a rough patch on the campaign trail.
"I'm not going to sit here and come on this morning and sugar coat the last couple of weeks," he said on CBS.
But instead of trying to tamp down expectations ahead of Wednesday's presidential debate, Christie insisted that "the whole race is going to turn upside-down come Thursday morning."
"[Romney is] going to lay out his vision for America," Christie said, adding that Romney will use the opportunity to draw sharp contrasts between his plan and the president's.
"And [for] the first time a majority of the people who are going to vote in this race will have an opportunity to make that direct comparison," he said.

IF -- and that's a BIG IF -- voters ARE able to draw that direct comparison, it'll be because Romney has FINALLY committed himself to a plan; never mind the last eight months of teasers and spur-of-the-moment sound-bites, this would be a FIRST, learning where the Mendacious One actually STANDS.
I'm reminded of the biblical "creature" of Revelation, with twenty-four faces; Mitt has shown us AT LEAST that many.
I too suspect he may pull a surprise unveiling at the Debates to try to throw Obama off his game.. It may not be able to be refuted until someone has time to analyze it.
He is famous with flip-flopping, or telling partial truths (like at the Latino interview saying "We will not deport you." but leaving off the squeezing Latinos out until they are so miserable the self-deport.. Or when trying to say he is empathic, stating "Don't forget, I created Romneycare in MA.. Cant be more compassionate then that".. Did not add, I will remove Obama care, can't be anymore hard hearted and uncaring as that..
I think he has already lost all credibility. People have already made up their mind that whatever he says now is not what he will actually do in office.. What he will do in office to sell out the country to wallstreet, big oil and coal companies and his 1 percenter buddies and pals.
Whatever he unveils it will be just looked at with skeptism. “What part isn’t he telling
us?” , “This will never add up”, or “Yeah right, he has no intention to carry it through”.
Specifics and Romney are oxymorons. Lets see if all his debate training will further serve to insult the intelligence of the American people this time by getting "specific". Mortage Intrest? Earned income credit? Child care credit? Health Care cost dediction? Sate and local taxes? Repeal Obama care, then do what? or as Paul Ryan told FAUX news about the 20% tac cuts " the math is too complicated for me to go into it" Wow Middle Class, you will surely reap the rewards!
I do not think anyone other than republicans believe that Mitt has some secret plan in his safe deposit box. He himself has said he does not have a list of the loopholes he would close. In fact Paul Ryan has said that "when it comes to closing tax loopholes that should be done through congress in front of the people". First off congress is so partisan right now very little is getting done.
Heck even bi-partsan bills are being blocked ( In the senate a bill that would have established a $1 billion jobs program putting veterans back to work tending to the country's federal lands and bolstering local police and fire departments is being stalled. Another bill in the senate that deals with a cost-of-living adjustment in veterans' compensation is being stalled. The postponed bill would provide almost 4 million veterans and survivors the same Dec. 1 percentage increase going to Social Security and retired pay for the military and federal civilians. The increase is expected to be at least 1.3 percent. This was after 4 republicans who helped write the bill voted against it! Both are being held up by republicans who seem to offer no reason why they are voting against it.
These are just a few of the things they could not get done yet Ryan thinks they will be able to do his job for him by finding those loopholes. As a member of this do nothing congress it seems like he would like to shift the blame so he would not take all the heat if things did not work out. We need both parties to understand that what they do and say does have an effect on real lives!! We are not just numbers on a budget line Mr. Ryan, and Chris Christie. We have hopes, dreams, families, and need real solutions to fix the issues this country faces. The time to get specific has long passed us by!! This is the real issue we face in this election because right now all we have is one side of the story here. The republican answer is to change the subject, refuse to answer the question, and say at least I am not the other guy. Little kids say this to their parents when thy do not want to get into trouble. If you have real solutions then state them and stick with it. This whole campaign relaunch then relaunch then relaunch crap makes you look like a run down mexican food restaurant no one eats at so they paint the wall, change the name and reopen. Do you want to run the country or nor?! We can not afford to wait for you to make up your minds. Either take this serious or get out of the way!!
MANY in the republican party are trying to LOWER expectations about Romney in the debates...many EXCEPT Chris Christie.
I still think Chris Christie is setting things up so he will be able to run for president in 2016. If Romney is NOT elected, this will be easier for him because he wont be running against Romney's second term.
I don't think anyone, especially Chris Christie, benefits from a Romney win in 2012.
Romney is just like Colonel Jessup in that movie A Few Good Men. He has this unpopular belief system that motivates him, and he WANTS to talk about it. He WANTS to broadcast it. He WANTS to yell it from the rooftops. That message is that he doesn't give a damn about 47% of the lazy ass half of the country that will never take responsibility for themselves. All Obama has to do is-- just like Tom Cruise in A Few Good Men.--get him rattled and lead him right to where he already wants to go. With any luck Romney will be yelling "YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH" and then it will all come out in front of everyone.
Unfortunately Romney is too good of a liar, and he is going to be trying to say exactly the opposite. So I am very curious about how all that will go.
Maybe instead of a McCain "That one" moment, Willard will just get all wacky and drop the N-word....
Never in a million and one years...but then again I never thought I'd see a presidential candidate that felt the need to cheerlead for himself on a tarmac---"ROMNEY/RYAN...ROMNEY/RYAN...there you go...."
