In a low-key and often wonkish presidential debate on Wednesday, Mitt Romney distanced himself from his own plans, but received only intermittent push-back from a subdued President Obama.
Obama started out strong at the Denver debate, nipping at Mitt Romney for the Republican's tax plan, which would reportedly cut $5 trillion in tax revenue and add $2 trillion in military spending. Obama insisted the move would pulverize middle-class families or balloon the deficit.
"How we pay for that, reduce the deficit and make the investments that we need to make without dumping those costs on to middle-class Americans, I think is one of the central questions of the campaign," the president said.
Romney, however, insisted that he doesn't have a $5 trillion tax cut in his plan, and that he won't reduce the taxes paid by the wealthiest Americans. On the stump, Romney has pushed to lower everyone's tax rates by 20%, an amount independent groups say will reduce federal revenue by $5 trillion over the next decade.
Obama charged that for the past year-and-half, his opponent has been running on such a tax plan and now his "big, bold idea is 'never mind.'"
On Medicare, Obama noted that although Romney's plan to turn Medicare into a voucher system might not affect current seniors, it would affect those who'll soon be eligible for the program. "If you're 54 or 55, you might want to listen because this might affect you," he said.
Obama argued that Romney has yet to lay out concrete plans on taxes, healthcare and Wall Street reform. "And at some point I think the American people have to ask themselves is the reason that Governor Romney is keeping all these plans to replace secret because they're too good?"
While there was no knockout moment, the tables seemed to turn in the GOPer's favor when Romney insisted the president's policies have stunted job growth and a second term in the White House for Obama would kill more jobs. He ripped Obama's plan to repeal tax cuts for small businesses and referenced Vice President Joe Biden's gaffe this week, saying "Under the president's policies, middle-income Americans have been buried."
Romney, appearing poised and confident, argued that health insurance costs have gone up, gas prices have doubled, costs of food have skyrocketed and the middle class has been crushed under Obama.
"You raised taxes and you killed jobs," Romney declared.
Throughout most of the evening, Romney was the clear aggressor, seizing control of the debate at several moments and interrupting moderator Jim Lehrer, while the president often seemed somewhat listless as he looked down at his podium.
Richard Wolffe, executive editor of MSNBC.com, said the cards fell in Romney's favor, but that in the end, Romney may not have achieved everything he needed to.
"I think the GOP is going to be delighted with Romney because it's all small bore. They want him to rough up the President and he did. Sadly for the GOP, he missed the real target: telling voters what he really stands for. Especially about jobs," Wolffe wrote on MSNBC.com.
Romney's big push comes as polls show him behind in several battleground states.

I believe that President Obama was distracted in thought...being the President he certainly has far more on his mind than just the debate...He is 24/7 the Commander-in-Chief !
Yes 24 hour Commander in Chief???
Appearing on the View?
Appearing on David Letterman?
Appearing on Pimp with a Limp?
Hanging out with Jay Z and Beyonce?
Yes, like Turkey and Syria.
Me and a few colleagues watched that debate again...Romney was well versed as if he knew the questions before hand...hmm interesting. Especially the exchange using the declaration of Independence. Look @ the smirk on Romney's face throughout the questioning. LOL It was like "I know the answers nanana and you don't Mr. President". If Obama attacked him the right wing would be screaming "Obama is attacking because he has no economic plan"!
I have one a response to Obama haters ....electoral votes is all the matters.
Don't get to happy folks. Get ready for Mittsy to have to defend the 47% comments, Bain, outsourcing, all those promises in the primaries, and all those lies...lol
Obama didn't bring those up because Mitt had responses to everything. Yeah, it looked like Mitt had questions because he knew the answers, BO clearly didn't. It's what has been said all along, BO can't defend his record, he would have done better not showing up.
what
What we saw was the Bain Capital Romney. Pushy, bossy, overbearing smug guy who likes to fire people. Can you really see this obnoxious self absorbed man doing your bidding with world leaders? Can you really see any of your allies wanting to follow this condesending guy into any conflict? One of your biggest allies already thinks he is a 'TWIT'. One thing all these talking heads critquing his performance is overlooking, is this man is a bold faced compulsive liar. His real agenda and attitude towards the middle class and their problems was revealed in the hidden video.
POTUS came across Presidential calm and collective and Romey will say want you want to hear at the moment no real plan just fluff no plan no substance. I do not trust a man that moves too much.
You can't debate a LIAR. I am disappointed in MSNBC for giving so much praise to Jello-man. President Obama was busy running the country and probably was thinking, "You got to be kidding me" "I gave up my anniversary night for THIS??"
Well, after that performance, you can forget Anniversary sex too. All the different excuses, Mitt lied, moderator's fault, air too thin (I think Gore floated that one, HA!), sun was in his eyes, shoes too tight, dog ate his homework (then ate dog). Obama lost, no use in getting dizzy spinning it.
How is it that not one news program called out Romney for saying that a 20% tax cut for the rich won't do one of these two things?
And why do people think Romney won simply because he beat up the moderator when he asked Romney the equivalent of "are you serious" when Romney denied that is part of his plan?
Do people think the money is going to come from the tooth fairy?
Has the whole country become stupid?
Obama won in my eyes...
He spoke more words.
He spoke truth.
He kept his cool.
He didn't interrupt.
He was respectful.
He acted Presidential.
He kept on topic.
He was original.
What kind of debate gives the Lying, obnoxious, rude, disrespectful, loud mouth phonie wanna be the win?
@2012,
So you think Romney won simply because he beat up an old man and threatened to fire big-bird when that old man asked Romney the equivalent of "are you serious" when Romney denied that a 20% tax cut on the wealthy would not:
Pick one.
Some people still think money in a bank vault will buy more products that creates more consumer demand we need to make more jobs after that has been debunked as a lie by a century of proof that unemployment goes up under every republican president except Reagan who increased taxes on the wealthy and education spending (like a democrat)?
Mitt Romney showed up last night to act
Like all he said last year isn't fact...
His polite obfusction
Astounded the nation,
All his policy he claimed to retract...
Mitt Romney has now declared war
On positions that he held before...
To political allies,
His political sallies
Held a "Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more..."
Mitt Romney has put out the word,
He's planning to fire Big Bird...
PBS education
Has enlightened the nation -
For a pittance, he's being absurd...
the president got beat bad. he needs to step it up. if he loses again he will be in great trouble. i was very disappointed.
Willard was pandering to undecided voters.
Pandering and flat out lying promising everything under the sun with NO CONCRETE PLAN, what a piece of work!!!!!!!!!!!!
Obama did not get beat-up, he was studying his opponent. Watch the next debate he will make Little Robbie look like an amateur eventhough Little Robbie gave the illusion of authority.
Studying? Really? BO didn't study for this debate. He will do better next time for sure (he can't do much worse), BO was the amateur last night, and that was his "A" game.
Obama looked like boxer who thought he had scored enough punches in the first few rounds of a fight to be leading in the scoring, and decided to simply be defensive for the rest of the fight. 5 weeks and 2 more Presidential debates, and one one foreign affairs which for the President is no longer appearing as his strong suit.
It's going to get interesting folks!
Did Obama forget about the 47%, the outsourcing, the Caymen Island accounts, the lack of tax returns, Bain, the choice of Ryan and everything he represents? You're right, it's very interesting that Obama didn't mention any of it.....yet.
The big O didn't forget about the 47% he just knows its irrelevant, he did try to bring up outsourcing and got slapped down by 25 years of business experience. He didn't bring up the Caymen Islands because the Clintons have more money invested their then Mitt does. He released as much taxes as Ronald Reagan did. Bain created jobs( which was the main focus of the debate), and Ryan won't even have to show up to win the VP debate. Game on.
Romney did what he does well. He fired the moderator and Big Bird. I'm sure you're privy to the Clinton's investments, not that they have the slightest relevance. And Ronald Reagan is quite the role model considering 138 in his administration were convicted and/or indicted for breaking the law. Funny that Romney refuses to talk about Bain, the job creating machine. lol. And Ryan inspired a bus full of nuns to tour the U.S. calling the snake out on all his lies. As for the 47%, in all likelihood that includes you, especially if you're a veteran...irrelevant according to Romney. But, you sound eager to pick up the tab for him and his cronies. Hope you have money saved up for them.
It was clear tonight was
Romney's Etch-A-Sketch moment. Will his dance toward the center alienate his base?
pandering
Elle- you're right, little Robbie played his etch-a-sketch to the tee. It is hard for him to change stripes or maybe he painted some stripes to look like he is for the all Americans. What a grand flip-flopper.
For those who aren't familiar with the facts. Romney may have looked good. Like crazy Louie Gomert says " Whether you are liberal or conservative, Mitt Romney is an excellant choice becasue at one time or another he as been on you side" and here he is suddenly on the side of the middle class? Complete lie! We need fact checkers at the debates!!!
Fact checkers would beat the lame performance of Lehrer! Personally, I think it's time to put an end to these dog and pony shows and stick with face to face campaigning. I was one of the few that only listened, and felt Rmoney was all over the map with his promises without any details. These debates only serve to lower the bar and give 'talking heads' a reason to talk. I agree, the questions clearly were not a surprise to one of the participants, now why would that be? One party thought he was the one to set the rules, and the moderator never did anything to correct him.
So your guy Obama is lost without a freindly cheering crowd and his 5 mimute stump speech before he gets on to his next fund raising event? You saw last night why this President hasn't held a news conference since April of this year...unheard of in an incumbent running for reelection. Take away the adoring youthful non discerning rally goers, and the wind just comes out of this guy's sails as we saw last night. CNN Flash poll of registered voters who actually watched the debate had Romney winning by 67%, Obama only 25%. Without a teleprompter and a carefully crafted speech, Obama flounders. Last night was no contest for the ability to stand on your own two feet and make a case for yourself and against the opponent.
Im not sure but I do believe its a fact that Obama has spent 90 billion on energy failurers which is like 50 years worth of oil subsides. Also I do beleive that there is going to be a unelected panel for health care decisions. Obama did put health care above jobs the first two years. It is a fact that Obamacare has taken 716 billion out of medicare. The problem for Obama is he has a record to run on. Mitt can call bs on Obama saying he is going to cut 5 trillion because he is not President yet. When Bill Clinton was in Obamas shoes he moved to the center Obama says its his way or the highway. Thats why Obama is no Bill Clinton.
What a surprise....all this time, Romney has been championing the 47%! Who knew? He really loves "you people." Romney brings new meaning to the word chameleon. Obama needs to recognize that Romney is shameless and address him in the only language he understands....cold and heartless.
we the people are not dumb,we heard the flip flopping that we are used to hearing from mitt romney.
Yes, Romney lied over and over again. In fact, I felt President Obama was thrown off speed a little because he was amazed Romney could stand there and blatantly lie over and over again. I think he maintained his cool because he didn't want to appear the "angry man." POTUS did call him on a couple of things, but I wish he could have slammed like Romney deserved.
when he does 'slam' he is criticized for being that 'angry black man'.
Obama certainly looked the part of an angry black man scowling at the moderator and his challanger most of the evening. And perhaps that is because he is an angry black man?
I read Obama's expression as disgust. It is disgusting to watch how shameless the "lying for the lord" group will go to win.
Well, with Keith, if you aren't smiing, you're looking angry and scowling. I would call it more discust. My guess is, he was wondering whan the hell was the moderator going to do his job. And "factcheckers have already brought up 27 lies Romney spewed last night.
I agree we do need fact checkers at the debates. Romney came strong, but he is flip flopping on substance. He had to come strong. How he has set the stage for the President to come back.
I wish they had fact checkers with buzzers they could push every time they caught someone in a lie. Buzzers with an electrical charge that would shoot up the liar's leg. Old Mitt would have all the hair singed off his body!
I agree Marjorie, They should get the wooden paddle on the behind when they lie. Romney wouldn't be able to sit for a year or more......He revels in his lies...
I agree Marjorie. What a service it'd be to the voters to have fact checkers on site. We have the technology and the debaters should be called out on their lies. Informed voters could decide based on substance instead of the theatre performance.
You know that old saying, if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with BS! LOL
Gov Romney performed much better than expected; given his propensity to stumble and bumble. He was not as well prepared as President Obama and his body language was problematic. His facts will not check out --- and where is the substance of his plan? Romney conveniently dumped or duped the extreme right of the party in giving responses with mass appeal but no basis in Romney's campaign speech/platform reality; the man lied repeatedly. The content and context of his parroted responses is a classic lying tactic. His eyes darted back and forth as he lacked control; his smirch was arrogant. He used sarcasm and humor to disguise the lack of substance in his own position. He lost credibility in his personal attacks. Lastly, Romney was real downer in his closing remarks--- depressing. There was a romantic moment at 9:52, President mouthed to Michelle "I love you".... President Obama will be re-elected.
I think his facts on Obamas rercord is facts they will check out. We know that Obamas energy picks have almost all gone bankrupt and the 90 billion number is correct are real close . We know that Obamacare has takern 716 billion out of medicare these are facts. We all watched as Obama put health care above jobs the first 2 years. I didnt see any things that werent facts about Obamas record.
You know nothing of the sort. Learn where that $716billion came from. And then take your Obama hate elsewhere. That's all you've spewed for over 3 months. That and lies.
It came from medicare and this is actualy law under Obamacare. Larry it is 100% true Obama gutted medicare to help fund Obamacare. This is fact Im sorry if believe that doctors will keep taking new medicare patients when it will take 4 to equal 1. If you believe that # 1 your a damn retarded fool #2 I got some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.
@Highrolla, Since you apparently don't know, let me tell you where the $716 billion comes from. It comes from a medicare program (Medicare Advantage) that charges more for their services. A study proved that the higher costs did not result in better outcomes, so that money will instead be used to help with the high cost of seniors' prescriptions. See? The money is going right back into Medicare. Would you like to know what Romney's plans to do with this money? He plans to give it right back to the programs that were already found to be charging too much with no improved results.

Obama is playing rope-a-dope, just like Muhamand Ali did. Let Romney take his shots for 2 rounds, burn himself out, and then Obama will put him away in the third debate. Romney had to come in with his A-game, and for the most part I think he did. He's not going to be any better than this in the next two debates. The President was just feeling him out and holding his own while learning Romney's weaknesses and formulating his plan for ultimate victory. You don't win a game in the first quarter or an election in the first debate. It's better to finish strong than to be seen as diminishing over the duration. It wasn't the end-all be-all that some of us were looking for, but there is still a lot of time left on the clock! If Obama crushed him tonight it would be seen as unsportsmanlike to continue the match, and likely unbearable to watch the next two debates.
Romney advisers are already walking back things he said. tinyurl.com/92qtlug
No one has mentioned how blatantly Romney disregarded the format or time limits of the debate. Be careful American public, Richard Nixon thought the laws and rules didn't apply to him either.
Oh...you mean like how Obama ending up speaking for 4 more minutes than Romney? About how when Obama knew he had 5 seconds left, he took almost 45 second?
just saying...
I think the comparison to Nixon is an apt one, very astute.
you are right...Obama does have a similar cocky attitude about him...thank goodness he got smacked down last night...
just saying...
Last nights debate was definitely interesting , willard was tossing out so many counter-diction's on himself and what he has been flip-flopping on for the past year that President Obama was chuckling under his breath and taking full notes as he shook his head and smiled at each and every Lie . in actuality willard was loading up President Obama's political guns for him ! Just you wait and see !
Robbinme gave the illusion of knowledge but in reality he still remained publicly silent on the real plans/solutions to the American people. He might have said alot but in the end he said nothing to instill hope. His debating left me questioning his trust-worthiness. Still remains a flip-flopper.
No one mentioned how blatantly Romney disregarded the format and time limits of the debate. Be careful American public Richard Nixon didn't think the laws and rules were for him either.
Yes, and I felt he was very disrespectful of Jim Lehrer. His dismissive attitude toward others certainly came across.
Romney was indeed offensive.... His claims were an insult to those of us familiar with the issues... His rudeness may fly with men, but that's all.
His followers will be waving their Etch-a-Sketches after the fact checkers are done with him... Obama ads for the next month will have contrasting sound bites between what he said tonight and what he said elsewhere on the campaign.
It looked like Obama underestimated Romney's capacity to lie. Romney won because he made a spectacle of himself. In theatre, and that's what these debates are, spectacle trumps the status quo.
I agree that Governor Romney did what he needed to do tonight. The President seemed "flat." It seems to me, however, that there's a bigger issue that is being missed. I've yet to see Governor Romney give specifics on his economic plans, or any issue for that matter, but even more troubling is the number of times he has said he thinks that the states should be allowed to deal with things such as health care and education, to name just two. These are and should continue to be federal issues, in my opinion. What I'm hearing though, is that his answer to federal programs he feels aren't working is to throw up his hands, say "Hey, not the federal governments problem" and relegate those issues to the states. Well Governor, allow me ask one question. Where, exactly, do you envision the states will get the money from to support all the programs you're giving up on? I'll tell you where. HIGHER STATE TAXES and REDUCED STATE SERVICES. That's not leadership Governor, that's passing the buck. I think we've all had enough of that. I know I have.

This may sound weird, but I believe Obama planned this. I heard in a previous Obama speech where he said "Romney is great at debating, well me, I'm just Ok" I believe he set the stage so that by the time they reach the second debate, Romney would be overly confident and lose his ground. Mohammed Ali ropa dope (sp?) style. Romney's campaign had been a debacle for weeks. The entire country knows all know about it. There was no need for Obama to run it into the ground. Just focus on the issues! Plus he allowed Romney to just talk and talk, and say things that not only fact checkers can validate as lies, but the media had been covering it for weeks. From the $5 Trillion dollar tax plan, the middle class and taxes , medicare and cutting programs. All of it were lies tonight. Ryan may change his stance also but videos don't lie and he's been on interview after interview discussing these evasive plans. All of this is bound to come up at the VP debate. Also if Obama was more aggressive as everyone thought he should have been, it would have looked as if he was out of control and not presidential. Romney knew that Obama would take this approach. He studied him. Romney was very loud, aggressive, talkative, pushy and was cutting the moderator off. Two people expressing themselves in that manner would call for a very interesting debate that could look more like arguing. It was too risky for the Obama to take that approach although I'm sure he was capable. My belief is that things will turn around, with the added commercials validating the lies, the fact checkers releasing more info, and the subsequent debates. Obama's job was to lower everyone's expectation of him and he succeeded. I couldn't agree with him more, because even I was becoming overwhelmed by the media's predictions on how he was expected to do. I trust that he knows what he's doing. Tonight was no mistake.
Actually , you could see Obama biting his lip(a slight scowl)I know my die hard Bems ...we all wanted Obama to squash him like a bug in this debate. No one more than I. But i watched the debate again and I notice something in hindsight I didn;'t before. Many times the President went into specifics of his plan. Romney did not. And when he did the math doesn't add up! But why the president didn't go for the 47% kill shot? Why? because the game plan was to let Romney toss out his economic plan, his stance on the economy and his very transparent tax plan. It 's not how you start it's how you finish. Point in case...Mitt said 4 things tonight that are in direct contrast to his campaign slogan. Now you better believe the gloves will come off in the second and third debate. If you really understand Obama the man...he view thinks in long term...he plan things for the long term. He has incredible vision to see the future and implement plans and strategies to achieve them. If you ever played poker, you never show your hand first. (I bet Obama does in his spare time...he looks like a chess player to me personally)
He had to weather that full brunt of Romney's assault to see his angle...the only thing that caught me by surprise was how bold Romney flip and lied in the same breath. From Neo-con to moderate, back to far right then to moderate liberal. My God! tonight he pitch himself as a liberal Republican! This guy is a real sociopath and republicans know this( their philosophy is for Mitt to do whatever it takes to get in the oval office..whatever it takes! Say whatever it takes!) The president really have to understand this and i hope his senior advisers don't sit back and take Romney lightly. This is what my biggest fear is...we are not dealing with a run of the mill conservative Republican...no this is something far worse and sinister. We are dealing with a chameleon..someone who will morph into whatever the power structure wants him to be. He has no real economic agenda, only one of adding the highest office to his resume and help his rich cohorts achieve their hidden agendas.
#1 Push us into war with Iran (Karl Rove, Dick Cheney and the rest of the old Bush gang will profit from this, as well as the Military war machine
#2 Everything and I mean everything will become privatized...this is Romney's true agenda.
#3 He will gut all so called entitlement programs especially welfare to keep his far right wing racist core group happy.
But Romney will become over confident he has no Idea what Obama has already faced in the White house...no my fellow Dems ...get your popcorn ready. This next debate will be a doozy!
You know what, Obama to me was shocked that that man would stand there on the stage and tell bold face lies and not break a sweat. The President was so taken a back that he lost focus there for a while. Romney kept rambling about all these things he would do just throwing out stuff to make a score to night. You all see how wiry he was, he probably had too much caffeine or something. At any rate, I'm still supporting Obama.
I think the facts of Obams picking the losers in energy is true. Also it is a fact that Obamacare has took 716 billion from medicare. Folks these were not lies they are 100% true. We all know that Obams spent the first 2 years on Obamacare and not jobs. Obama has a record and all these are facts. Mitt dont have a record as Presicent so he can call bs on stuff that is being said about what he going to do.
Romney consistently lied, contradicted himself and he adopted the President's policies. He was arrogant and rude. He lost his demeanor on several occasions. Debates or no Debates won't change my mind. "Give a fool enough rope and he will hang himself." Jim Lehrer your hayday as a Good Moderator have passed. You were "partial" to Mitt and it showed. Mitt told you in your face that he would "cut" your job at PBS, and you calmly agreed with him. The Mitt's Black Magic was worked for him tonight. Round two will be a different story. Obama 2012!
What is wrong with you people? Does the president have pictures of you? You worship this guy who is the worst thing to ever happen to America...and you cannot even see it.
What you saw last night was a professional, presidential looking, businessman who is very smart and knows what he is talking about ....debating an arrogant, narccisist..who thinks is is a god for some reason...I know why...because people like you worship him.
Well, what you saw last night was the real Obama, lost, confused, without a teleprompter to tell his lies for him...starting to agree with Govenor Romney. Then today Obama does nothing but damage control on his pitiful performance.
This country is has been on a downward spiral the past 4 years with Obama at the controls...and complete control the first 2 years.
Its time for him to go....
You say Romney constantly lied. How in the heck to you know that...because Al Sharpton tells you? Al Sharpton, the next Walter Cronkite. Is he a news person? Are you serious. You people wake up!
Mitt Romney for President of the United States of America
The lies Romney told last night will catch up with him in subsequent debates and additional Obama commercials. I agree, if Obama used Romney's strategy he would have appeared angry, defensive and flustered. Believe it or not I believe that Obama planned to debate this way. I heard in a prevous speech where he said "Romney is a great debater, well me, I'm just ok" Seriously, have we ever seen the president passive? Never. But the other debates he's had in the past were with people who respected each other's designated time, respected the moderator, and so on. Romney didn't care. He disrespectfully charged through the debate as if there was no moderator. So Obama had to decide how to handle it. I believe he made the right decision to stay calm and stick to the issues. The problem is that he was on the defensive so much, that he didn't have the chance to hit back, and there was so much to hit back with. Fortunately this stuff had been published by the media for weeks. The question is, will the country forget. Obama's entire debate was defensive. No time to hit back and defend his position at the same time. If he spent his 90 minutes hitting back, he would not have been able to stick to the issues. The issues we truly needed to hear. So he made the right decision.
I hate to break this to you but he spoke facts. Obama has taken 716 billion out of medicare for Obamacare. He has given 90 billion to energy companies which is 50 years worth of oil subsides. He did spend 2 years on Obamacare instead of jobs. Another fact is Obama had 4 more minutes of talking time than Mitt so you just lied about the disrespect of time. Fact is Obama has a record and we all can look and see that these were actualy facts about Obama.
Is that why factchecker has already pointed out 27 lies Romney spewed? And again, learn where that $716billion came from. But I know you won't, being the Obama hater you are. Probably don't know that the Feds filed charges against 91 people for Medicare fraud. Wow. Wonder if that's some of the $716billion?
Larry you are a retarded fool if you are to stupid to know that doctors will not take new patients when they can get the same price for 1 that they would get for 4. God damn Larry you are the dumbest rertarded person in the entire world if your that damn stupid. Fact is Mitt will put that money back in medicare and if Obamcare is not repealed that 716 billion is gone gone gone and your dumb ass will be standing in line with your hand out wondering why no doctors will take your medicare card. Larry you need to aquire some common sense because your are the dumbest person I have ever heard on hear.
I think Obama needed to explain to Romney that we're not at the beach, and tell him to put some shoes on!
Hey guys i have another entire view on the debate and if im correct, the President is brilliant ! I believe we are witnessing a classic game of tourtise and the hare. The hare shot out from the starting line and it as his over confidence that was his downfall. What if part of the plan was to have it appear that Gov Romney won just to get him over confident, to have the media saying Romney won , Romney gets over confident and assumes the next debate will be a piece of cake and the President delivers several TKO's , Mitt is caught off guard and every time Mitt tries to recover the President knocks him out again . Had the President won tonight as expected , Mitt would have less to look forward to for the next debate. Now thanks to the presumption of a loss Mitt will enter the ring at the next debate a champion and the President can mop the floor with his ass . No one can call the Pres a bully because Mitt won the first round. Its Totally Briilliant !!
I look at it as Obama being the hair and being over confident just like hes been with killing Obl. He thought that just because Obl was dead we didnt have to worry about terroist attacks. Its clear by Obamas schedule of tv shows that he was over confident.
It's clear you know nothing about being President. It's also clear you hate this President. Where was you "outrage" when GWB took all those vacations, golf trips, TV appearances? Not one word from you righties. He also spent us into major debt and deficit and started to unfunded conflict, one on nothing but lies. Not one word from you righties. Wonder why.
Larry it is clear you are retarded so please no need for you to respond anymore.
KEEPING IT THOUGHTFULLY HONEST: Romney was slick and smoother in
tonight’s debate! He was assertive and forceful to keep interrupting as well as
to the point of dominating the conversations in the debate. His slick style was
more confident and out spoken on topics! This was a surprise! THE INCONVENIENT
TRUTH: However, if you listened carefully to his statements, Romney just went
on that debate stage and lied to us, the American people, again! When he expressed his views on taxes ("I'm
not looking for a $5 trillion tax cut." ), he lied.
By avoiding to state it, he is going to continue his and Ryan’s tax cuts for
Billionaires and Millionaires that have not created NO new jobs in the last 8
year as well as No plan to pay for the deficits except to tax Middle class! On
Medicare, he tried to flip flopped from the Ryan plan –so if you are 55 and
over he said you are safe, but if you are 54 or less, got luck with the voucher
and pre-existing conditions! On Wall
Street Bankers where he gets his pay-off in millions in campaign funds and to
avoid reform laws, he did some “back pedaling.” He flip flopped on this
previously stated position that regulation was not necessary! On Obamacare, he
is flip flopped on his and Ryan’s previous position, again because he is for it
but at the State level but no plan to pay for mandate! Really? On Education, he
is for its importance, but plan to provide support! Hum.. The bottom line for
intelligent thinking middle Class Americans, it is clear that with Romney’s flip
flopping and vague slick presentation gets a B, but he gets a D with lies where
necessary with little new substance!, Therefore, he is dangerous and cannot be
trusted!
We cant call him a lie on that plain and simply because its in the future. However Obama has a record and we know that Obama only picks losers when it comes to energy companies. We know that Obama raided medicare of 716 billion. Its impossible to call Mitt a lie on future events however Obama has a record. We also know that Obama is against the keystone pipeline that is a fact on record.
The "zinger" Romneys new tax plan. I'm shuked!
