Mitt Romney's debate one-liners weren't exactly zingers, but the RNC is out to make them sing.
The Republican National Committee released a highlight reel of Romney's performance at the presidential debate on Wednesday, showing the GOP candidate lancing the president. The video's split screen matches the candidates' head-to-head, keying in on how President Obama's facial expressions and mannerisms slowly sink—at points casting the president as smug. The video is entitled "Smirk."
The president's smirk lingers in the early editing of the RNC's video while giving animated reactions to Romney's description of toils for the middle class.
"My view is we've got to provide tax relief to people in the middle class," Romney says in the ad to a split screen of the president nodding. "The people who are having a hard time right now are middle income Americans."
The RNC goes on to seize the wide consensus that Romney won the style competition of the night against a president known for his oratory skills. In the video, as Romney continues to harp on his newfound populist message by harping on high gas prices and lowered incomes, the screen pans to Obama's reaction. The smirk is gone and he's now looking down at the endless notes he's taking.
Obama's smirk reemerges only for the reference of the "death panel," a GOP talking point that Romney dredged up and wouldn't let die down during the debate. As the crescendo builds, Romney is left saying simply, "It's time for a new path."

Civility is apparently not in Mitts bag of tricks. Very sad.
DEBATE #1: What Did You Think?"
What debate? A debate has a structure, a moderator and adherence to directions.
The next debate, in a different format, with a different moderator, will send Mittens to the recycling bin for out of touch has-been-want-to-be politicians.
Two poignant messages to remember:
Obama wants to raise taxes on the Rich, rebuild America, from the middle out, and make responsible cuts for reducing the debt.
Mittens: wants to kill Big Bird, drill on Federal lands, he likes coal, and vouchers for seniors and students!
Typical from a robot Romney, he has no lungs.
Really , after a performance like that and the presidents record over the past 4 years and you still want to drink the kool aid. or is the free entitlements your afraid of losing. american first , your last.
while Obama was OK last night I felt he should have been more aggresive on Romney, he could have gone for te jugular on a number of topics but he ddn't Granted this was the first debate, the president has to be far more aggresive other wise we may see heckle and jeckle for 4 years now that is scary
My President was off last night, i was very disappointed. He should stop referring to his family life and happenings when addressing serious challenges. Last night no one cared about his anniversary to "Sweetie." Also his reference to Abraham Lincoln's thoughts about "All Americans" and the creed of this country did not resonate with me and many (I think) African Americans. Abraham Lincoln's thoughts were not necessarily about the freed slaves his concern was to bring the Republic together for the dominate race to enjoy. My President's ancestors were not slaves of this country so I did not get the drift of that rhetoric. I thought Romney was rude, arrogant and pushy but I guess that's what it takes to win a debate. The moderator looked like and acted like "death warmed over." What a joke. I watch your show every night and just love you.
It ain't about winning debates! It's about winning 270 electoral college votes in 5 weeks! RNC can thump their chest, pump their fists, high five and take a victory lap, but it won't mean a thing if Mitt does not have 270 electoral votes on the evening of November 6. Lot's can happen in 5 weeks, but when it is all said and done, the American people will have the last say! To Be Continued!
Clearly Obama was beaten last evening, not only by Romney, but by himself - his normally stellar oratory skills were poor and he seemed unfocused. Why he did not bring up the 47% leaves a lot of people confused. Despite having 4 more minutes of speaking time, he failed to convince many people that he had plans for moving our economy forward, he failed to convince many people that Obamacare will be as good as it sounded when it was passed into law - his attempt to claim Romney's ideas were lacking details came across as whiney after a while - I was immediately reminded of the statement made by then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi that Congress would have to pass the Healthcare Law to see what it was about and expected that to come back and hurt the President also. The dabate format gave both candidates the opportunity to speak their message and counter-punch what their opponents said - fair to both.
Can't blame Obama for refusing to throw aggression at a soulless devil. Let the devil speak his mind and stump around like rumplestiltskin on meth, and let the fact finders point out what a sinister creep he is. Use Romney's remarks in tv ads for the whole month. Liar Liar.
Last night - Obama gave America a genuine look into the REAL Obama - confused, lost , peeved & inable to pursue a coherent argument in reply. The president of the Harvard Law Review and the Nobel Peace Prize winner has ALWAYS been the recipient of equal opportunity in massive doses and has never honestly deserved his honors and accolades. The problem with this type of equal opportunity booster-ism ...is that some day you embarrass yourself when you can't have your teleprompter or your handlers standing by your side. That's why Obama was such an abject failure. That's why you cannot find a school record or a record of grades or aptitude tests or Any educational history on Obama and why he has put that all under lock and key like no other president in history.
Update - obama now says his pathetic performance in the debate ...was NOT his Fault ! It was Mitt Romney's FAULT ! :). Romney done confab-u-latted Obama and came in some kind of disguise, the 'new Romney' disguise ... which so discomboob-a-lated Obama that obama didn't know what was happening ..or what to say ...and was made to look like a freaking moron instead of the president of the U.S.... so ...it was Romneys fault !
