The co-chairman of Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, John Sununu, has once again called the president “lazy” and “incompetent.”
Sununu, also the former chief of staff for former President George W. Bush and a former governor of New Hampshire, used these words to sum up his review of President Obama’s performance at the first presidential debate Wednesday night.
“What people saw last night I think was a president that revealed his incompetence, how lazy and detached he is,” Sununu said on Andrea Mitchell Reports Thursday. “And how he has absolutely no idea how serious the economic problems of the country are and how he has failed to even begin to address them.”
Host Andrea Mitchell offered Sununu the chance to walk back the remark, but he adamantly declined.
“He didn’t want to prepare for this debate,” Sununu said. “He’s lazy and disengaged.”
Given this is a charge Sununu leveled at the president just last week during an appearance on Fox News and these were the first lines he spoke on Andrea Mitchell Reports, it seems clear this is a well-rehearsed, thought-out line by the ex-governor.

Well, this is enlightening - explains a great deal for me - I was wondering why the Romney campaign was so poorly run - and why Romney continually appears like a deer in headlights during this entire campaign! He's getting advice form this guy right here who is mouthing off like a pre-teen on a school bus. What an embarrassment to this country to have a bully involved in a national election. The republicans whole task since the midterms of 2010 were to block everything Obama put forth. Forget the fact that it was going to be the best thing for the country in terms of jobs... but no.. just do whatever to get Obama out. Then you have the right wing idiots like Limbaugh and Hannity that complain about unemployment numbers but fail to call out their party for blocking the jobs bills that have come along. Let's not forget that one of those bills was written by republicans with bipartisan support and then those republicans that helped to craft the bill voted it down. Rush, Hannity, Sununu... why the silence on that? Why not speak up for those jobs? Because all you care about is the white house and having someone there that's looking out for the 1%... not the country as a whole!

John Sununu, the perfect example of a politician being childish in more ways than one, lambasting someone with childish names and personal abuses reminds me of children arguing. This torrent of hostility, divisiveness and arrogance is sweeping away our government's effectiveness but of course he can't see that it is hurting the health of the nation. A leadership crisis is the last thing that America needs. The nation is facing a a mounting tally of internal and external crises and in order to face these things, the government needs to be more united, stable and efficient than ever. Instead, political dissent is only intensifying.
