COMMENTARY
I hesitate to weigh in on such foolishness—I’m a strong advocate of not shooting everything that moves—but this seems to have some legs: I was on the Thomas Roberts show this morning, where they showed a tweet of Jack Welch, the former CEO of G.E. and a Mitt Romney backer, suggesting that the Bureau of Labor Statistics was cooking the books on the employment report to help the President.
As I said on air, Jack Welch should be ashamed of himself. The BLS is an institution with tremendous integrity, and with very deep procedures and methods to ensure the most accurate, unbiased, and and confidential collection, analysis, and reporting of data known to this or any other country.
You want proof? Go to their website and find me one document among the hundreds of thousands up there that show any political leanings one way or the other—it’s all “just the facts, ma’am.” Then—and I’m talking to you, Jack—look at their survey methods and explain to me how they’re cooking the books, and at what stage the fix is going in.
To be clear, I'm not saying the employment numbers don’t have some error in them. These are statistical estimates, and in fact, the BLS is very careful to provide error margins for their data. I am very much saying that any errors are random, as with all sample data, and absolutely politically unbiased.
My man Larry Mishel at the Economic Policy Institute says as much here, as does his colleague Heidi Shierholz here. And here's some details as to why Welch’s claims are so implausible based on the many layers of protections BLS builds into their data, analysis, and reporting systems. Interestingly—I didn’t know this—the BLS does not currently have one political appointee working in the entire agency.
A March report from The Washington Post also details how the jobs reports are made, describing the analysis process as "an eight-day security lockdown" during which confidentiality agreements are signed each morning and computers are encrypted and data locked into a safe every time one of the analysts goes even to the bathroom (itals mine).
Confidentiality agreements…data in a safe every time you go to the bathroom...layers of data security…decades of a perfect track record on data integrity.
Welch is way out of his depth and if he or anyone else who’s alleging conspiracy doesn’t have any evidence beyond a set of economic results they find politically unhelpful, they should really be quiet ... very very quiet.

Dems are way too polite. We saw it Wednesday night and we see it here. Sometimes people just need to be told to STFU! Reps & Indy's don't seems to have a problem calling people out.
The so called debate, was Romney, changing it to a camp. speech! That was the first time he said anything about his stupid plan. He even put down big bird. NOW THAT IS LOW! His plan on education just shows you how he wants to make america stupid country! His health plan is no plan at all. Just more lies. His rude antics showed me, how, for a smart man, how dumb he really is!
Well, if you aren't on Romney's campaign materials mailing list due to your party registration, not opening and reading his website, and not paying attention to his stump speeches, not watching CDNBC, bloomberg Business News, Fox Business News, and reading the Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and the Op-Ed page of the NY Times, then I suppose that Wedensday is the first time you heard anything about Romney's Tax Reform and Economic Recovery Plan, other than the negative spin put on it in one liners from the Demnocrats and their echo chamber, the liberal media, Melvin.
Strange that suddenly the Republicans now questions these results obtained from methodology that resulted in statistics they have gloated over the past three years! They only distrust what does not go their way. Of course, they do have a tendency to push their own behaviors on to others, like suggestions of voter fraud etc. This is a psychological affliction called projection.
Thay did't think America had any smart people. NOW THAY KNOW
Mr. Welch and his confreres are either living in a fantasy world or, more cynically, taking advantage of people not smart enough, or perhaps too busy, to understand how data is actually gathered. He should be ashamed. And I never liked his eyebrows.
I bet you if the numbers were 9.0, they (GOP) would not be complaining. They would be on every network, stating that Obama has failed the American people again. Get a life and a accept what it is...some people have integrity...
For sure! With all their filler busting, its proved to be hurting them. SO now thay are crying in their missed deeds!
9%? Now you are getting close. For it you take into concideration those that have just dropped out of looking for work (and therefore aren't counted), the unemployment rate is more like 11%. And if you add in the individuals stuck in low paying part time jobs that would really like full time work (who aren't counted), then the unemployment rate is more like 14%, Tonya.
This is the stupidest thing I have read! Why would anyone think that someone who is unemployed would stop looking for work.
I had been unemployed and NEVER stoped looking for work. I did everything I could possibly do to find work. I am now gainfully employed and have been for over a year now.
So please...STOP...and just enjoy the fact that the number has dropped and that people are finding work.
Believe in America and the American people!
I work ,when I can as a carpenter. I have worked as a union carpenter for 30 years. I see no improvement in the jobs. It is the worst I have ever seen. I have all but give up looking for the job I should be doing. I voted for B.O. the first time and I can't see anything moving forward. The numbers they throw out mean nothing. This is reality. Wake up. Not everyone can have a govt job or live on welfare. Somebody has to pay the bills. Business people are afraid to invest in the economy with a socialist over reaching govt in power.
That tweet from crybaby jack was on the Morning Joe show. Joe needs to go the the BLS sight. He kept saying that he was confused about the jobs numbers.
Joe is, part of the Republican communist Party, what more do you exspect out of his axx. Praise?
This is the socio-political version of a temper tantrum. It just goes along with the "He isn't a legitmate president" line of reasoning
it followes a train of thought that looks a little like this...
"He's a socialist!"
"He's a marxist!!"
"He's a communist trotskyite Arab sleeper agent sent to ravash your daughter...."
"Can't you people UNDERSTAND how Dangerous he is? HE's BLACK!!!
And so are you. Black as a moonless night! Just because he, is, what he is, and your BS black comment, should rate you, out of gods concerns. Its people like you who should be tared and feathered, then run out of this country!
I think you misunderstood the point I was making. I was using hyperbole to illistrate the way I believe the thought process of many of the Presidents detractors works.
I don't believe any of those things and I don't think any rational person could but as I was trying to point out many of these people arent rational.
I apologize for any misunderstanding
Dragon==Showing the problems with using irony on the web. You knew your statement was not intended seriously, but others had to guess. I suggest the tag <irony> to introduce ironic statements.
Anyone seen Grandpa Fuzz (I'll get my colleagues to check the bars)? He's been hollering for months that Welch was part of the "media/corporate conspiracy" that is persecuting the right wing crowd.
Welch is long retired from GE, and I never claimed he was part of any Corporate- liberal media anti Republican conspiracy knowing his conservatism, Cab Drive. But you just go on making up your nonsense if it makes you feel good!
The GOP is fried, over cooked and done for! I haven't a clue when they will ever get their credibility back. Forget Congress, they only want to filibuster, and take time off on tax payers time. Shameful! I truly can't stand to look at any of them. I hate dishonesty..
And dishonest!!!!!!!!!
It's kind of sad to see how old Jack Welch has gotten. It reminds me of the Pat Buchanan meltdowns just before he was retired.
As we say in Nashville, you gotta know when to hold em, know when to fold em. Jack's bluffing, but he's really lost his old edge. He needs to get up from the table.
Jack's real complaint, of course, is that the good job numbers have effectively peed in the Romney folks' post-debate party punchbowl.
The problem with GE's CEO, is that GE is no longer an American co. Their products are made in Mexico and China. But now he wants to comment. who is to becomes President. GE has lost its voice, in this election, and should remain out of it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look, you ignorant fool, Melvin. You are obviously playing with a short deck. GE and its CEO is behind your man, Barrack Obama. It's present CEO Jeff Imeltd heads up Barrack Obama's Jobs Counsel, and is a leading sucker up of the Obama administration tax deductions and credits for "green energy" initiatives that makes up a good part of the $90 billion in special interest tax treatment "giveaways" of this Obama Administration for Green Energy. And, they are the parent of NBC-MSNBC whose blog you are posting you bullcrap statements running down Republicans and boosting Obama.
Get educated, or get off this blog, Melvin.. Your ignorant comments are a waste of everybody's time.
Wasn't it you recently who made such a big stink trying to chastise other posters for what you considered to be a "breach of the rules" for social blogs? Why YES...it was. Must be that "really big pot" thing of yours rearing it's little top again.
Pretty ironic statement, grammatical issues aside, all things considered. As somebody mentioned to you before recently, we'd explain it to you but there aren't any crayons available to make it exceedingly clear for you at the moment.
Not your blog, soprano-boy...not your rules either.
But yet we still tolerate yours, Keith...and a clue for you: you don't speak for "everybody"....haven't you learned that simple lesson by now?
That's a good lad...now off to your basement with you...I'm sure tomorrow there will be another whiney-butt Republican with yet another conspiracy theory to promote.
Why...it might even be you.
When the waters run deep in the sewer line, the crap floats to the top: now we have this out of touch participant Eyes Wide Shut joining the ignorant Melvin Perrels. LOL!
Don't like it when you get called out for your stupidity, do you Keith?
I know you Republican cons like to think of yourselves as masters of the universe, but you aren't...a far cry from it, actually. And they aren't your rules to make, but I do understand how you clowns like to try and enact suppression where you think you can get away with it...voter, blogger, etc. Unfortunately for you, there are much smarter people in the world around to block it.
From your history (that's out on the web), it's evident you've been a whiney-butt pretty much most of your adult years. How'd that "I was pushed off the curb" argument go for you? Oh...that's right...you lost that one too, didn't you?
Sewer leak in your basement, Keith? You should be used to those all-too-frequent occurrences by now...
Haven't got a clue wht this post topic is about, and how to answer my arugments, so its all the same usual nonsense of insuults from you fool, right? If you think your buddy Melvin who seems to think Joe Scarbough is a communist, and that GE-NBC-MSNBC are oppostional to Obama, and can't recognize an ironical comment to save his soul is someone to defend, why have at it. Birds of a feather if you ask me! LOL!
That's the prevalent rumor about you Keith. Thanks for confirming it.
Actually, Joe Scarborough, a Republican, seems better educated than the majority of them. He's made comments noting some of the more stupid things the Romney/Ryan campaign has done. I especially liked the one where he reacts to a really awkward clip of Mitt Romney by covering his face and muttering "Sweet Jesus". That was the one where Mitt introduces Ryan as the "next President of the United States", and upon realizing his gaffe, then has to try and reverse the crowd chant. Priceless...
I've never thought of Joe as a "communist", but it's refreshing to note that he's not afraid to call out the idiocy of his party. With so much of it going around, it's not hard to miss.
.
Probably more a case for Joe of recognizing the editorial policies of MSNBC-NBC and needing to toe the line from time to time.
Like I said and you continually prove...the prevalent rumor.
It's all-too-clear that you can't back up your rant about the BLS economists cooking the unemployment books in Obama's favor or challenge any of the lies Romney spit out last week.
What a surprise...not.
I went to the BLS Civilian Labor Force. Between January 2002 and January 2009 the Civilian Labor Force grew 10.353 million. Between January 2009 and September 2012 the Civilian Labor Force Grew 0.827 million. The growth rates respectively were 1.479 million more workers per year and 0.225 million workers workers per year. The difference 1.254 times 3.67 years means that 4.602 million workers did not enter the labor force between January 2009 and September 2012. Therefore a more accurate way of counting the number of people not working who want to work would be 16.757 million rather than 12.155 million. And the unemployment rate would be 10.5% instead of 7.8% And finally depending on how the rate is calculated determines whether the rate is too high. Citizens who cannot discern the difference in the intellectual integrity of Jared Bernstein and Jack Welch would do America a favor by not voting.
But those are the figures we have been using to track this recovery. Changing the methodology at this point would leave us no way to compare the current economy with the past. Your methodology may work, although I suspect you need to account for those who have retired or left the labor force voluntarily. The survey counts those who are actively looking for work as unemployed. To change methods now would be cooking the books to suit your politics.
Try this one out: According to the Burea of Labor Statistics from January, 2009 to the end of September, 2012 we have had only 397,000 new jobs added nation wide, or not quite enough to provide for jobs for the averge of 150,000 to 160,000 new members of the Civilian Labor Force that should be added each month, by demographics.
Suddenly after months and months of declining public sector employment since the Recovey Act stimulus portion of several hundred billion went in direct transfers to the states and localities in 2009, for August as revised, and September we toled 600,000 new public sector employees. And for September alone, the highly inaccurate and highly variable Household Survey from a base of just over 1,2 million households that has as a sampling base 60,000 (or 5% of the households) a self report on members of the household working that month, we came up in September with 873,000 more people employed in September that weren't employed in August, and this in a Quarter that saw a drop in our GDP to an anemic 1.3%, a drop in durable goods orders of over 13% in that quarter to its worst level in several years, a three month negative nominal manufacturing jobs sector reported, and large corporations in the pulse of the economy transportation sector and heavy industrial equipment manufacturers reporting greatly lessened earnings and earnings guideline presently, and going forward.
A drop fro July's 8.3% to 7.8% Unemployment Rate at the end of September is impossible in that kind of real economy, it would take a 5% GDP rate in the quarter to accomplish that. And that 873,000 new individuals reported as employed by the figures created from the Household Survey that is used to determine the Unemployment Rate for September, was last obtained at the height of the Reagan Recovery (after his cutting taxes in a tax reform plan very similar to Romney's btw), in June, 1983. Not even in the "miracle" years of the Clinton economy was there a month that saw that kind of nominal increase extrapolated. Suddenly, overnight, this is the best economic boost in a two month period in over 30 years.
The only way the Obama economists ( and two who are prominant in the production of this report at the Bureau of Labor Statistics are listed as sizeable donators to the Obama campaign) can account for that anomaly or the reported statistics of the real economy and this mythic economy of "over 5 million jobs added in steady growth of 30 months-NOT!" culminating in a miracle drop of 0.5% in the past two months in the Employment rate is to claim that the extrapolating integer of the factor used to adjust for seasonal variations sudenly reversed course, and went in their favor this time, one month out from the election. How's that smell to you, folks?
You asked... Like your usual turd-tossing tactics...
Ooooh, I love this one Ezra Klein just put up on the special Friday edition of The Last Word...
"I don't think the BLS cooked up the statistics. I think a bunch of Democrats lied about getting jobs."
First we had "Birthers," and now we have "Jobbers." BTW, the figures for the last few months were revised upwards as well, as often happens.
The previous months employment figures are often revised upward or downward as the case may be, Cab Driver. But by 50%?. If they were going to be that far off, why report them in the first place?
Wow...you'd think that with such "bombshell" information as this, Keith would be tripping all over his tongue in his rush to actually tack on some viable sources to support his assertion...but he hasn't, and it's highly doubtful he has any.
Getting desperate aren't you Keith? Lying...AGAIN???
How's that smell, you ask? I imagine your neighbors are getting pretty tired of the odor of that continual sewer leak in your basement.
Instead of bickering about if the numbers have been cooked or not, we all as Americans should be happy the numbers are lower. A lower number means our country's economy is getting better, and there is hope for a better economy. God Bless the United States of America!
Excuse me,fool, but the actual numbers of newly formed full time jobs added in September (an anemic 114,000 only) was lower than Augusts revised number, which in itself was lower than the revised number ofr July. The actual numbers as reported by employers of new employment is clearly on a trend downward, which is nothing to crow about, or celebrate. When 6 people leave the labor force in disappointment due to lack of employment opportunities for everyone new job created, that is reflected in the Unemployment rate, for if one is not looking for work, and/or only working part time when one wants to be working full time (millions of Americans are included in both those catagories), they do not show up in the factoring of the Unemployment rate. So behind that 7.8% figure, is hidden the real slide in full-time employment opportunities under this failed administrations policies.
JSU1987...
Keith can't stand it when there's anything positive to note about his opponents...that's why he always tries to down-play news that's good for the country, like any news that his idol Mitt is behind in polls. But he was noticeably lacking a response to the recent Fox poll that put Mitt down by significant points. I bet he felt utterly betrayed by them.
You'd think that even a die-hard con like Keith could actually be happy that at least 114K people have found work, but as it puts a dent in some Romney's claims, he has to go and get all grumpy about it.
Notice that he never supports his rants with anything factual...you're just supposed to take his word as gospel, but you'd be foolish to do that. He makes up things to suit his momentary whims and tries to pass that off as an undeniable "truism".
But he called you a "fool", like he does with everybody who doesn't agree with him, so that makes you one of the good guys. Next thing you know, he'll try and cower you enough to quit making comments on the Last Word blogs.
Stay tuned...
I know you weren't watching, but each week in September there were 365,00 average new Unemployment Insurance Claims, hardly anything to be thankful for, fool. We have only a grand total of 397,000 individuals employed at the end of September then were employed in Jan 2009 under this Administration, and that only covers about 3 months of new individuals joining the labor forces by demographics. No incumbent since FDR has been reelected with an Unemployment Rate over 7.2%...and this one isn't about to be either. Those polls you speak of were taken before the debate, fool, where your candidate looked to be all of the one in the empty chair debating Clint Eastwood at the Republican National Convention, only this one wasn't supposed to be a satirical comedy skit. Even The New Yorker magazine had its cover up as Romney debating another empty chair, but this one behind a Podium on a stage in Denver. So relish the polls of the prior week, for you won't be seeing any more like those in the month ahead.
This nonsense that the "loyal opposition" is asserting about cooking the numbers reminds me of the "spiking the ball" accusations leveled at the President after OBL was taken out and the cheering about Rio getting the 2016 Olympic Games instead of Chicago. Some idiots are willing to cheer against the USA if that's what it takes to tarnish the successes of the current administration.
The blatantly unprofessional idolatry of the media contributed to Obama’s poor performance. The Times, MSNBC, Huff Post and hundreds of others have lied so much they began believing their own lies. Most important, Obama and close Obama advisors believed them. The lies floated to the surface during the first debate.
And the bigest lie just came out in the miracle "October Surprise" of a drop to 7.8% in the Unenmployment Rate for September, and the highest number of increase in those extrapolated from the erratic Houshold Survey (60,000 households telephoned) of 873,000 new individuals reported as employed this month than prior, the best single month gain since June of 1983 under the solid and honest Reagan Recovery that was actually felt by our populace and businesses as a real recovery.
For detailed argument, see my comment #11.2 and john warner's comment #11 above. You will find those two postings both an eye and a nose opener, I assure you.
Hey Grandpa,
I think I'll take the advice of the first poster...
STFU...
Better help yourself to some Nyquil because you're going to be subjected to a bit of fact-checking on that Jack Welch claim by a couple of us...
And I promise you're going to look like the same sort of head-up-your hiney liar as your Presidential candidate.
I'm up early to go get my Wall Street Journal NY Times Weekend edition and Baron's, Cab Driver. Will have to wait until Monday to see what treatment the boys and girls at the Wall Street Journal give these numbers.
As to Jack Welch, his argument is that if this adminsitration is so "transparent", then sit done and show us how they found 873,000 more people reported newly employed in September out of a telephone survey of 5% of 1.2 million houeholds only that weren't employed in August and July. Until they do, their numbers are subject to criticism. and if they don't or can't, the hype on the 7.8% Unenployment rate is simply that, worthless hype, and should continue to be exposed as such.
Baron's? Do you mean the frozen pizza guy? I like them in a pinch; way better than Herman Cain's crap....
Jack Welch doesn't believe in global warming, and neither do you. 'Nuff said... Your thinkers are broke and your grasp on reality is non-existent.
Record cold wave hitting the country now for this time of year, but I'm sure you global warming nuts and fruit cakes types will ignore that, just as you ignore the poor fortunes for the fundamentals of our economy under this President's policies, Cab Driver.
He needs to take a brisk swim in the Hudson.
Jack at your age you should smoke a little more POT, because people like you and your friends would like nothing better than to see the Country fail.SHAME ON YOU.
Spoken by a true out in la la land pot smoker no doubt, Butch! LOL!
Conservatives dismayed by the misleadingly bullish headline unemployment number should focus less on the probability that the numbers were cooked, which is quite low, and more on the probability of mean reversion in the November number, which is high.
And they should really avoid associating their own credibility with that of Jack Welch, who in his own memoir offered evidence that GE routinely engaged in what in boardrooms is called "earnings management," and out of boardrooms is called "fraud."

On the subject of the recent Presidential Debate. Mitt Romney gave us sufficient information on the direction he would take the country IF he were to become president. Even though he is still flipping and flopping. Many wanted President Obama to be aggressive. It would seem logical that he would. We need to consider that President Obama is a Lawyer. The American People are the jury and it's Mitt Romney that is on trial. He has taken every position on every issue. The Closing arguments will open the eyes of understanding of many American People and there we will see the "Stark Contrast". We return to the courtroom at the next Presidential debate.
Hope your guy doesn't get so flustered again by the shellacking in debate form that Romney gave him that he again forgets to address his closing remarks to the TV audience with some degree of conviction, instead of going thru the motions haltingly and dispiritedly adressed to the moderator next time he gets a chance! LOL!
No, we'll just wait until Mitt tries to "explain" (more like flip-flop) all those lies he told.
Your spud has already tried tacking back to the center from his far right positions during the GOP debates, but poor Mitt...alas, his sails are in tatters.
I can see that uncanny resemblance between you and Mitt, Keith.
Well, you do me proud with your comparison. Some of us actually live our lives not as political hacks, you know. As to you, I'd say you seem to be the second coming of gaffer Joe Biden whenever you show up on this blog, Eyes Wide Shut!
I thought you'd easily identify yourself with Mitt-the-half-wit.
Your suppression tactics are juvenile and won't work, but you just keep on trying...just like Romney keeps lying about his policies. His day of reckoning is close at hand, but yours occurred long ago.
I know you think everybody here hangs on your every mis-spelled word and grammatical boo-boo, but I don't so I probably missed it and am left to wonder...did you "out" any more members of your own family recently?
First a sibling then an offspring...not the sharpest crayon in the box, are you?
But that was already plainly evident.
Again, not a single word from you that even attempts to refute my fact and figures filled arguments...simply a belief (foolish that it is) that by hurling lamebrain insults in my direction you are doing anything other than demostrating your lack of intellect and debate skills, just like your man on Wednesday evening. Can't refute Romney's facts and figures,or my facts and figures, so you wind up repeating endlessly your misconceptions, and then calling your opponent a liar. What weak sisters you both are, Eye's Wide Shut.
Romney's debate lies:
1. "I don't have a $5 trillion tax cut". Nothing but a flat-out lie about the cost of his proposal. The Tax Policy Center has calculated that those cuts would cost $360B the first year, and a total cost of about $5T over a decade.
2. "I will not reduce the taxes paid by high-income Americans". Really? Studies show that if he were to implement his "20%" cut while eliminating tax deductions to pay for it, only those with more than $200K would see a cut, but the other 95% or so of Americans would see an increase.
3. "We've got 23 million people out of work or [who have] stopped looking for work in this country". The official figure is 12.5M unemployed...about half of what Mitt-the-Fibber is touting. But he counts about 8M workers holding part-time jobs as being "out of work".
4. Obamacare "puts in place an unelected board that's going to tell people ultimately what kind of treatments they can have". Sarah Palin "Death Panels", anyone? This group can't make those kinds of decisions and has no authority to dictate private insurance marketplace practices.
5. "Pre-existing conditions are covered under my plan". Even Mitt's etch-a-sketch boy noted shortly after the debate that what Romney had said wasn't true. Insurance companies could continue to discriminate and deny coverage under his plan.
6. "A Bipartisan Record". The good folks of MA don't seem to agree with that fable. Seems Mitt thought being a governor was akin to being a CEO with dictatorial rights. But you can always check with the MA Taxpayer Foundation to see for yourself.
7. "Obamacare Leads to Loss of Healthcare". Romney cherry-picked a CBO report in his trip down fantasy lane and Politifact rated his statement as "False".
8. "The Failure of the Obama Economy". All in all, it's been a whole lot better than what was happening when Bush 2 left the WH when we were hemorrhaging about 3/4 of a million jobs...a month. His claim about the number of college graduates is also wrong, according to AP...they found only a quarter of grads were probably unemployed and perhaps another quarter were underemployed.
9. "Obamacare Cuts Billions From Medicare". Mitt could have told the truth...that this amount would be saved primarily through reducing over-payments to insurance companies under Medicare Advantage, not payments to beneficiaries, but he chose to fudge the facts. That's as opposed to Ryan's plan to use that almost very same amount to pay for tax cuts for wealthier citizens.
10. "Gas Prices Increase Under President Obama". Only fools and idiots think this is a reality. Presidents have nothing to do with spot market oil trading...ANY president. You'd think that for somebody who repeatedly espouses "free market" ideas, Mitt would understand that simplistic principle. Electric prices have risen an average of less than 1% a year since Obama took the top job.
11. "Oil and Gas Production Increases Only on Private Land". The BLM says it isn't the 50% that Romney claimed but more in the 20-37% less category than in the years before his presidency. Besides, there is no mandate that any oil company drilling on US soil, public or private, MUST only use that oil ONLY for domestic purposes. They will sell it for the highest price they can get for it, regardless of where it goes.
12. "No Tax Cuts for the Rich". See #2.
13. "Health Care Costs Rising Under Obama". Mitt's claim that health care costs have gone up by $2500 a family has been debunked from the moment he uttered that falsehood. Reality has shown that the increase is about $1700, most of which is absorbed by employers with only a slight part attributed to the ACA. But as for the majority of that increase...well, that's just your "free market" insurance companies at work...the ones the R&R boys want to let have free reign over health care policies.
Consider Mitt's lies, or as you refer to them..."fact and figures", as well as yours, refuted. They (and you) were never really on solid ground to begin with. You will stick your head in the sand, plug your ears, shake your little fists, and shout "NO...NO...Mommy...MOMMY!", but smarter minds than yours have lifted the veil of Romney's remarks and exposed them for what they are.
Still don't have anything to support your "economists at the BLS being in league with the administration and skewing the unemployment numbers" rant, do you? You can only fib so many times before you get branded as a liar...you have vastly exceeded your quota and have rightfully earned that moniker.
I love to see you match "wits" with reality...you always lose. But truthfully, it really isn't much of a contest and you, on your knees, must be a pretty natural position for you.
Keith I Sse you all over the web,do you get a pay check working for the romney camp. i would like to know from you were you as big a COWARD as mittsy. I see you have comments all over the web.Did you serve our Counrty? I like these questions answered, because when my COUNTRY called for me in 1964 I WENT TO FORT DIX. i dont want a leader who was called and ran to France with his tail between his legs, and now want to be our leader,I would rather he be a leader in his fathers homeland (MEXICO).
Not paid, and I didn't wait to be called, Butch. I enlisted RA in 1963, and served my tour. I was out of Ft Dix a year aheah of you, on to Ft Monmouth for Crypto training, and then stationed with the Southeastern European Task Force for two years before dischage to return to school. But then I wasn't a Mormon with a duty to serve my missionary years. But thank you for your service, my good man..
Butch? Grandpa Fuzz (retired Lt. Sonny from the Mort Walker comics) is all over the web?
And he's hollering that I'm stalking him? Besides here and a couple of other MSNBC places, I stick with a recovery site for those traumatized by membership in Mitt's religion. Should I be going elsewhere, perhaps in hopes of promoting my comedy career?
As for that 'unpaid' claim, we'll he doesn't exactly have a reputation for truthfulness... It is interesting that he keeps addressing me with capital letters in some sort of honorarium (unless it's a "search engine" ticker). I would be interested to see what they say about me at Koch Head headquarters. I know the impact of my rhetoric (I'm not going to change minds; my goal is making voices change back to soprano), and those @!$%# kickers I use were fashioned when I taught in an adolescent rehab.
Regardless, you can set your watch by the Republican Talking Oinks he routinely passes of here..
Cabbie...if you haven't already done so, I'd suggest reading the Doonesbury strip for today...specifically, the justification "Mitt" gives for attempting to convert a Frenchman to Mormonism.
what an angry little TOAD......warts and all.
DEFICIT REDUCTION: SECTION 8, OF ARTICLE 1, OF THE CONSTITUTION GIVES CONGRESS A SENSIBLE WAY TO PAY DOWN THE DEBT AND FUND PROGRAMS…INTERNET FREE PRESS

There are three ways: let the Bush Tax Cuts expire for everyone, borrow no more money, and create the money needed. Forget about the fiscal curb invented by Wall Street. If you really want to know what a share of stock is really worth look at the PE ratio.
THE SUPREME COURT BELIEVES THAT CONGRESS HAS THE RIGHT TO COIN MONEY AND REGULATE THE VALUE THERE OF;…
NATURE’S BASIS LAW OF ECONOMICS STATES:
There are only two kinds of resources: people and natural. All goods and services flow from the action of people resources on natural resources. Money is the medium of exchange of which there should always be a balanced supply. Article 1, Section 8, of the Constitution gives Congress three means to raise money: taxation, borrowing money and most important the right to coin and print money or put bytes on a computer chip. Why only use two legs of a three-legged stool?
The question that should always be asked: what is it that needs to be done? If there are people resources and natural resource available, there is no excuse for not getting the job done. The lack of money is not a valid excuse.
To compare the National Debt to that of and individual is unjust. To have a National Debt in the first place is based on ignorance. The framers of the Constitution were not that stupid. They knew there should always be an adequate money supply, and they provided three ways in the Constitution.
Article 1 – The Legislative Branch
Section 8 – Powers of Congress
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
To borrow money on the credit of the United States;
To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;
To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;
*** To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures; WHY NOT USE THIS LEG OF A THREE-LEGGED STOOL TO SOLVE AMERICA’S ECONOMIC PROBLEMS? WHY USE ONLY A TWO-LEGGED STOOL? TRY SITTING ON A TWO-LEGGED, STUPID!
The economic assets of America consists of more than one year of GDP or GNP. The economics assets of America are more like 213 trillion dollars. Multiply 14.6 times 14.6 that will give you a more accurate number. The total assets of the Federal Government is a quadrillion dollars. The deficit is a National Joke of small minded people.
