A Michigan CEO is giving his employees a little friendly advice: Vote Romney, or you'll end up paying for it.
In a letter to company workers, Richard Lacks, who runs auto parts supplier Lacks Enterprises, advised them to “vote to improve your standard of living” by opposing President Obama.
Obama's healthcare overhaul, Lacks claimed, would lead to higher health insurance costs for the firm. “As employees, you will receive no additional direct benefit other than you will have to pay for it,” he added.
Lacks continued: “The talk of additional tax increases by the administration, if re-elected, will have an additional negative impact on the organization. It is always important to remember the more government takes the less there will be available to spread around to the working people of this company."
The letter was leaked to MILive.com.
On The Ed Show Monday, Ed Schultz filled viewers in on the real kicker: In that same letter, Lacks informed employees they'd be getting their sixth bonus on 3 years. Though a company spokesman told MILive.com that the firm didn't benefit directly from the auto bailout pushed by the Obama administration and opposed by Romney, Ed noted that's not the full story. G.M. and Chrysler are among Lacks's top customers, and without the bailout, they might not exist today. So it's fair to say that Obama's bailout has played a pretty big role in the firm's success these last few years.

its the "I got mine now screw you" mentality that seems to drive my FORMER party affiliation. Really astounding that an auto parts company would be any thing but grateful! Jackass!
its the "I got mine now screw you" mentality
You've got that all wrong.
It's the "I worked for mine now it's time for you to work for yours mentality".
No, Smithjoe has it right. You asswipes don't give a rats ass about this country, the deficit, wars ( Unless you have invested in a war machine contractor), healthcare or anything else except your stock portfolio and how much taxes you can get out of paying. Thats what makes you so pathetic. Of course you could just be a Kock bro wannabe trying to make ppl think you actually have a stock portfolio. I'm betting on the latter.
No, Smithjoe has it right. You asswipes don't give a rats ass about this country,
You're dead wrong about that. We care a lot about the country, we don't give a crap about you.
I do have a stock portfolio, I have for over 45 years. I have a financial stake in this country. I want my investment to pay off just as it has for the last 45 years.
Another words what he is doing is sharing his delusions that he is a big wheel on the stock market. How do we know this just how many times has the GOP crashed the stock market in the last 45 years and he claims that he has never lost money on the stocks in 45 years, in fact it has paid off for 45 years.
his delusions that he is a big wheel on the stock market.
Not a big wheel, just a Conservative Republican Capitalist that isn't on the dole and knows a good deal when he sees it.
Yes you're right, over the last 45 years I haven't lost a penny but made a fortune. My question is, Why haven't you?
DUUUUHHHHHHH!!!! Don't tell me.........Bush wouldn't let you!!!
Or bettr known as a lying tea bagged republican. Right you made a fortune of BS but as far as actual wealth you are just another broke Koch employee trying to get rich at 5 cents a post. How do we know this rather simple the wealthy don't brag about their wealth or stock market dealings on blogs they pay simple minded people to do that for them.
whomi
Here's the best part, you'll love this. I own stocks that I bought during the 60s that are up over 5000% and I haven't paid a penny in taxes. Good deal huh???
Bull@!$%#
Bull@!$%#?????????
Nope...just US dollars..............LOL
I hope you teach your kids that capitalism is the way to go. You know what the alternative is.
I hope you seek the professional help you need for the delusions you are suffering from.
Is there a cure for @!$%#itis?
GM Cancl the Contract, Business is Business.
I am beginning to get the feeling that legs and arms are going to be broken if Romney does not get in.
I am beginning to get the feeling that legs and arms are going to be broken if Romney does not get in.
That's not how it works, sonny.
If Barry is reelected Republicans will sit back and wait until America gets tired of a deteriorating country . We can afford to wait....can you?
Probably... or they'll try to start some seditious war. The only thing deteriorating is the Right's mental stability, as they're realizing that painting themselves into a corner with the Southern Strategy is going to drown the whole ship.
We can manage Ente. But then we of the 47% don't count for much any. The DOJ needs to have a little "chat" with Mr. Lacks. He's dancing the line of voter intimidation, it sounds like. He won't like Leavenworth, KS.
But then we of the 47% don't count for much any.
I agree!!
Except election time.... Better luck in 2016. You'll need it.
No silly, you are thinking of the Unions. I know they are using much worse scare tactics against it's members than any business is.
Hey boss - get out of my life!
Big business is certainly supporting Romney...regardless...one of the nice things is that the voting booth is still confidential regardless of how your employer tells you to vote...that is assuming that those registering voters give you a chance!
It appears from the recent Polls that a lot of Americans believe the same thing, Obama is bad for the US.
Not when they got the news that unemployment was down below 8% and Mitt was lying the whole way through his debate... it's going to be fun watching Obama making Mitt flip-flop and eat his own words.
What polls are you looking at? Fox news?
Gallup today
An Oct. 4-5 Gallup poll finds roughly two in three Americans reporting that they watched the Oct. 3 debate, similar to what Gallup measured for each of the three 2008 presidential debates. Those who viewed the debate overwhelmingly believe Romney did a better job than Obama, 72% to 20%. Republicans were nearly unanimous in judging Romney the winner. But even Democrats rated Romney as doing a better job than Obama, 49% to 39%.
it is impossible to say that "two in three Americans" watched the debate. About 70 million watch, but there is over 300million Americans. So, what do you say about the other 230 million who have already made up their minds and did not bother to tune in.
paula
most of the country couldn't care less who is in the WH,
Paula, your math is flawed. two in three Americans reporting, reporting means there was a poll, a poll means a sample of the population not the entire population. This is called statistics.
1008 people, the standard for all polls, is hardly a "sample of the population". What part of the country? What age, ethnic, group?
larry
Being a liberal that separates everyone by race, you wouldn't understand how a poll works.
LOL.... Thats hilarious. You mean how you morons reject polls that show the president kicking Mutt's ass?
jit
Have you noticed that the stock market is rising? Do you think it would be rising if Mr anti-Wall St. was leading?
larry74, apparently you don't understand how statistics
works. In this case it would be close to impossible to ask or survey every
member of the population, so a sample is taken (size of the sample tells us the
confidence level of the outcome). As sample is just that a snap shot in time of
the outcome, nothing more or less.
Statistically, we them make a inference to the population
based on the outcome.
Ente, you make an interesting point. However, the question infers
that if Mr. Romney was the president then the stock market would not be rising,
an opinionated question, not based on facts.
Hey JT. Think again. The WH is doing the lying by not reporting un-employeement trufully. We all know is above 11% and the only reason it dropped was because people have stopped looking. Look at the jobs created. that should tell you that the drop was not because of jobs created but because people dropped out of the workforce. Think some instead of believing what the Lame Media tells you to think.
Deny, deny, deny...it's your only defense.
deny? so the job numbers may look great right now..first time in how long? and why? and what will it look like next month? dont think i am not happy about the numbers, but REALITY bites hard. I wouldnt get the party hats out too soon. There are millions still sucking wind wondering how to pay their rent out there. These are the people who are wondering who they wll vote for.
It appears from the posts here you are the only one opposed to Obama.
Nope. I, too, oppose Obama.
Count me in the opposed to oBama group. May be a majority, never know.
Facts are a problem. 23 new taxes have been identified in the oBamaCare legislation. I already have employees asking me about how much more tax they are going to have to pay for their health insurance. I tell them the truth, depends on who wins, Romney none, oBama more.
I feel sorry for your 'employees'. They have an idiot for a boss.
I oppose Obama..
just saying..
Thats ok capt re reg we already knew that your hoping that your guy can lie or buy the white house. To bad for you that those free medicare services as well as vet benefits will be cut and you are given a voucher to try to buy healthcare for insurance companies with, you will end up selling everything you own within 2 years to keep up with the cost when insurance companies decide you need to pay more because the CEO needs another car for his collection or another mansion because the other 6 got old.
John I bet you would have drunk the Kool-Ade from Jim Jones too
And I'll bet your momma dropped you on your head when you were a baby.
sound like a bunch of schoolyard children here..one trying to scare me about losing my veterans benefits which is pure BS and another resorting to someone's mother. grow up.
So why don't they send him a letter back saying 'No-you vote for Obama or we will all go on strike"?
Then fire them and hire non-union labor. Lots of folks out of work who would love that paycheck.
Is this guy for real? Dick....tator
The government still owns 500 million shares of GM, 26 percent of the total. It needs to sell them for $53 a share to recover its $49.5 billion bailout. But the stock price is about $20 a share, and the Treasury now estimates that the government will lose more than $25 billion if and when it sells.
'If and when'.......Dumbass
Show your intelligence call me another name. Is someone monitoring this abuse?
Cry some 'more. Your tears are my laughter.
Thank you. It is easy to get the less intelligent to act.
Bosses think workers are slaves.....get out of our decisions...four more years!
Your kidding, right. The premiums will go up. Cost will go up. The act will not prevent cost from increasing.
And health care as it is now has never increased? You can't see the trees for the Forrest, can you. Premiums will not go up dummy. Everyone is placed in a 'pool, just like corporations have a cheaper rate for their employees because they are in a pool. The more ppl in a pool the cheaper the rates. 30 million are about to be placed in a pool in this country which will create rates half if not less, than they used to be. Stop lying Mitt....
The business owner simply told his employees the truth and made no threats to them at all. It is his opinion that if Obama is elected that his costs to supply healthcare to his employees will go up and he is letting them know that the cost will be passed along to them. Additionally, if the government increases the amount of taxes that the company has to pay, there will be less money available to pay the bonuses that have been paid to the employees in the pass.
That is business 101.
just saying....
John in Texas-3114519, what fantasy land do you live in. The cost of health care continues to rise and always will. Thus, premiums follow. Just becuase one program is less expensive than another doesn't mean it is afordable to all employees.
And stop name calling I am not dump and I am not Mitt.
Stormguy53, hit the nail on the head. These are facts.
Right and why is that oh yeah thats right Nixon decided to take healthcare off the nonprofit insurance companies and let insurance companies run healthcare for profit. The GOP has made sure insurance industry keep their for profit healthcare system. Really you should listen to the Nixon Tapes, even Nixon said it was an insurance scam that would ensure insurance companies wealth.
Oh and the wealth of healthcare providers.
Exactly Whom. These 'intellectuals' will never get it.
Thanks for the compliment
{SMH}
So embarrassed this is happening in my state. Sadly, I don't think they're the only one to do something like this.
It funny when a company, union and or organization that is supporting a Non-Democrat Candidate encourages their workers to support said candidate, we hear complaining and cries of unfairness but when it the other way around its fine . . . the double standard. The fact is I have seen the Democrats do this year after year on the Local Level, State Level and Federal Level. (FYI: I don't vote Democrat and I don't vote Republican but instead I vote for the best qualified candidate no matter the Party Line). When Clinton ran for President my wife came home and told me that they were instructed to vote for Clinton for President or they would loose their funding . . . guess what Clinton was elected and over the next eight years the agency still lost a large portion of their funding. When Bush was running for his first term my wife had taken a position at another agency (after 15 years) and they were told to vote Democrat or they wouldn't have a job in January. Over the next eight years their agency increased revenue, increased its work force and was solid. In 2008, once again they were "strongly" encouraged to vote for our now President because the Republican challenger wanted to cut their funding. In the last 3 1/2 years their funding has been cut several times causing the agency to cut almost 1/2 of its employees and eliminate services, increase in health insurance premiums with less coverage and eventually the closure of the agency. We shouldn't call Foul or Point Fingers when it is a problem on both sides of the aisle. Do I believe that their is some truth in what this CEO wrote to his workers? Yes, I do. But I believe that their is some stretching of the facts and we need to educate our selves better and stop listening to what they want us to believe.
I'm sorry but there is a difference between telling people why they should vote for a person and telling people they have to or else. Always miss out on content of the message or you just put your blinders on and pretend they didn't mean what they said or better known as selective hearing.
Brother Allan,
Very reasoned post. Thank You
G allan, where do you morons get this crap. Ive been in a union for 35 yrs and never have they ordered or demanded anyone to vote for a certain party. Do they ask you to help support Dems? Yes, they do. But they demand nothing. But a few idiots in my union, mostly kids who have been brainwashed by their moron parents vote teabagger. Then I tell them what idiots and pond scum they are for benefiting from what unions gave them like insurance, FMLA, and vacations and then turn around and vote against them. But thats a POS teabagger for you, correct?
It's interesting that Romney, Ryan and the Republicans want to balance the budget by "getting rid of deductions." The rich don't care about those deductions because they make too much money to take advantage of them, like mortgage and medical deductions. Those deductions are only advantageous to the middle class. So, it's the middle class who will suffer when those deductions are deleted. Once the deductions are gone Romney will "suddenly" realize he can't balance the budget after all, but those deductions will no longer be available for the middle class. It's a brilliant, Machiavellian plan.
Whacha talking about Willis budgets and deficits only matter when democrats are in power when the GOP is in power deficits, budgets are taken care of because tax cuts pay for themselves, Reagan said it so it is the unquestionable truth.
horse@!$%#. the only way to turn around the deficit/budget is to get the middle class to work. anybody that believes that any candidate is only out for one class is stupid. the middle class needs to be put to work if for no other reason than to make money to pay taxes. if you believe that the only reason he's running is to make money for the rich, then you're a complete dumbass and spending way too much time listening to msnbc. ever wonder why msnbc isn't touting obamas record to win this election? there IS not great record. LOOK IT UP. RESEARCH. don't let any news channel make up your mind. READ
Don't get upset at whomi, he's been a recipient of the taxpayer's generosity for a long time.
When the middle class prospers, everyone prospers. See? No class warfare to it! Tell your teabaggers in congress to stop obstructing all the jobs bills and this country will be fine, dumbass.
stop obstructing all the jobs bills
What's a jobs bill?
The latest one that was blocked by Senate Republicans was a jobs bill for veterans, you know those people who get killed when Republicans start wars, the members of the committee that wrote the bill along with their Republican buddies blocked the bill.
Why? It was for the troops and was deficit neutral, so it is one thing to help destroy the economy to make Obama a one tern president to quote McConnell.
'What jobs bills'?......Classic teabagger knowledge.
American Jobs Act to create jobs to fix our crumbling infrastructure Einstein which was PAID FOR, a concept you 'CONservatives' never heard of. But alas it was filibustered by the teabaggers, just one of their record number.
So the company boss is NOT allowed to exercise free speech but an opinion but the union boss is?
The difference is the company boss can fire you or not promote you if you don't follow his recommendations (coercion) for who to vote for.
The union may support a candidate but has no way to cause your career to end. Also not all employees are union.
Don't tell me how to vote nor threaten me with your wish to cut my job.
wow, they found a person to vote against romney. amazing.
I loved the side by side of Mitt Romney saying one thing and then contradicting himself ...WOW! That should be an eye opener for the American public. How about this going to war thing? Not one of his FIVE sons even enlisted in the armed forces nor has HE...but he's willing to put us right back into a war in the middle east. Both my dad and brother have gone to war and it's not pretty. Let Mitt put one of his sons in harms way and see if he feels the same way. What is it with these Republicans...WAR WAR WAR THIS is why our country is in the economic mess that BUSH created was trying to pay for all these wars. NOW we want to go back to those policies cause Romney could debate well ONE night....dah he doesn't even remember what he says from week to week.
We ARE moving in the right direction maybe not fast enough for some BUT at least we aren't going backward into more WARS. Patience is a virtue...have faith in what OBama has already done for this country....we could have all been in soup lines had it not been for his level headed thinking..
Patience is a virtue
So is hope and change.............how's it working out for ya?
Just fine, thanks for asking.
If these folks let this guy tell them how to vote they'll wind up in the same position as those Coal Miners were a few weeks ago. VOTE DEM!!!!
President Obama touted it in 2010 as evidence "manufacturing jobs are coming back to the United States,” but two years later, a Michigan hybrid battery plant built with $150 million in taxpayer funds is putting workers on furlough before a single battery has been produced.

Bain buys a company in Illinois, closes it and forces it's employees to train chinese replacements.
Bain buys a company in Illinois, closes it and forces it's employees to train chinese replacements.
Bain didn't make any promises to anyone. Bain doesn't owe the employees a damn thing. The employees don't have to train anyone.
Bain buys a company in Illinois, closes it and forces it's employees to train chinese replacements.
Notice the rodes scholar did mention the name of this company.
Reason, it's all bull$hit.
Just love these special ed show bloggers, they just make stuff, give each other green stars, LOL.
These people are so full of them self's.
Don't say it doesn't happen. It wasn't Bain but MEMC Electronic Materials Co. in St. Peters MO sent manufacturing jobs to Malaysia. Before they moved the production equipment out of the plant, the remaining production employees trained Malaysian representatives how to run the equipment. 2008; true fact.
CowCrap, you asked for proof in another post about Bain closing ANY plant and shipping those jobs to China. I gave you that proof but I reckon you're just not intelligent enough to comprehend it. I'll give it to you again. The company was called Sensata. S-E-N-S-A-T-A. You guys crack me up.
Listen rodes scholar, Bain has never shipped any jobs to China.
Next go read about Sensata, Bain bought Sensata long after Mitt left the company.
Furthermore Sensata leased the auto sensor company from Honeywell.
For the uninitiated, here's a quick backgrounder: Late last year, a Bain-owned company called Sensata Technologies (ST) agreed to buy an auto-sensor manufacturing unit from Honeywell (HON). From the outset, Sensata said that it planned to move the jobs overseas at year-end 2012, since the majority of its auto-sensor business is in Asia. In fact, Sensdata didn't even buy the manufacturing facility from Honeywell. It leased it, with Honeywell expected to hang a for-sale sign when Sensata moves out in a few months.
Get your facts correct for once will you.
BREAKING NEWS:
Obama campaign under investigation for illegal overseas campaign donations.
Spam much? And I see so many sources for that tid bit of BS info.
Oh look the 3 windmill man.
Got any more whoopers to tell?
The only 3 windmills on earth that operate with 3 mph winds.
Hey idiot. The name of the town is Arlington. Even though you know nothing about it, you call me a liar. Maybe you should learn about modern tech. But that would mean you have to do something. ANY modern wind generater is capable of turning at 3 mph. But stay in the 20th century.
Arlington in what state? Further more the gorge you mention does not even exist.
Next windmills will not operate on 3MPH winds.
It takes a minimum of 12 MPH to operate a windmill and it has to be a sustained wind.
How ignorant is "DICK HEAD" aka Richard Lacks, the President saves the Auto Industry, and YOUR business, and you coerce your employees to vote for the very person who would have done his best to put YOU out of business by outsourcing the parts industry to China.
America is in desperate need of HELP!
UN-AMERICAN to coerce employees to vote for anyone!
As usual the arguments are fact-free!
Tell that to the AFL-CIO.
Another blame Obama moment. He and all the other 1%ers making big bucks from the President just makes you want to throw up. This claim about reducing the employee's salary, is it really known it is because of healthcare or another underlining reason? It very well sound as if he is one of those suppose to be do-gooder job creators and a large portion of his tax cut money is in an offshore account he does not want to part company with. Bonus indeed. How much????????? And what about voting is a private right not known to anyone unless the person says who they voted for? What is he going to do to ensure the employee vote for Romney; have that intimidating voting group stand over the employee while they vote or fire the person because they voted for Obama? That is a good idea; then the government can arrest those a$$holes. It may be hard to prove but if that person is fired because of his personal voting rights then it is definitely lawyer time.
Polls do not vote. A free people in a Democracy must vote, and get others to vote. If everyone gets out the vote? These polls mean nothing! Do not let a poll decide whether one gets out to vote or not. Hey! Hey! Ho! Ho! The Party of NO has got to go!
YOu mean NO more lame duck progressiveness.
