According to Politico, reports have surfaced that, right before the first debate, the Romney family held an "intervention" with Mitt to tell him that his campaign strategy wasn't working. Campaign insiders told Politico's Mike Allen and Jim Vandehei that the candidate's image was in need of softening, and that his strategists had privately acknowledged that they were too focused on the news cycle.
"When the history of this campaign is written, the family intervention will be among the most important turning points in the Romney saga," wrote Allen and Vandehei.
Not everyone believes the reports. "I don't buy this whole idea that his wife and family swoop in and bring out the real Mitt," Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank said Tuesday night on PoliticsNation.
Ultimately, the public has no way of knowing whether the Romney who shined at the first debate is the "real" Romney, Milbank said. What happened to the Romney from weeks ago, from the primaries, or from the 2008 race?
"He changes positions the way you and I take neckties," Milbank quipped. He speculated that Romney's campaign was sputtering and the rumors of an "intervention" were simply a way to signal a reset, to interest the media in a new narrative, and to fire up the disaffected Republican base.

LOL this is the typical LDS process actually. Most LDS will hold an "intervention" when they think that a family member or friend is doing things they shouldn't, behaving in a manner they shouldn't or is altogether just straight epic fail. I also have to mention that they also do this when they find out their kids are gay and they want to try to change them by telling them how unhappy it makes them. *rolls eyes* However, I think this is funny.
Right off the bat .... I just want to say that I left this church around 1983 -- but yes, I can "confirm" that the type of family "intervention" being reported as having recently happened within the Romney family .... IS indeed something that DOES frequently occur within Mormon family circles. Also ... LDS [Mormon] families formally meet together in their homes every Monday night, calling it 'Family Home Evening'. It's a common and long-held Mormon practice. So their recent family "intervention" with Mitt WAS most likely held during their own family weekly get-together just prior to the first national debate. [And then in closing the meeting, they all frequently gather together in a circle, with one of them offering up a prayer .... and then sing a favorite Mormon hymn called 'I Am A Child Of God'. And they DO, by the way, TRULY BELIEVE that THEY are God's "favorite" or "specially chosen" children!]
What is the point He went against most all of his own positions and 60 million people watched and decided that He has a better position now then what He has had for the last year and now the polls show him winning , that tells Me Americans are some of the most non serious voters I know.
Drink some more Cool-aid Kevin. Why is it that when Democrats change their positions, it called "evolving", but when the other side changes, it's called "flip-flopping". I am a right-leaning independent that agreed with Obama on very few issues. The ONE we agreed on was that, "marriage" is a union between one man and one woman. Hussein then conveniently "evolves" three months before the 2012 Presidential election. What a coincidence! If Bah-RUCK can evolve on Gay marriage, why can't Romney evolve on abortion, or ANY ISSUE? It's a two way street. The hypocrisy and double-standards from the left are enough to make one puke. The left is complaining that Romney's plan wouldn't balance the budget, and that he would add ONE TRILLION to the deficit. Isn't one trillion better than SIX TRILLION?
Sorry there Paul Mitt did not just look at the facts and realize he was wrong. He just decided to take a more moderate view of all the things he supposedly stood for. He realized that it meant more to him to beat Obama so he stopped listening to all the crazy wingnuts and their 1930's way of thinking. We have more than enough crap going on in the world without having to re fight for woman's rights. Mitt is the ultimate flip flopper. Obama had no chance because he did not know what was going to come out of Mitt's mouth that night. He did not pick a side on a issue and stick with it. Nor did he say my views were wrong and now this is what I believe. He flat out pulled out the old etch a sketch and said what are you talking about? I never said those things!! You maybe willing to forget what he has been saying all the way up to last week but the tape tells us old Mitt has done this before.
The man has been doing this his whole political career and figures why stop now?! Enjoy your so called win as it was nothing more than a Mitt meltdown. He has gone in front of millions and can no longer run from what he has said. If your guy had any real facts to base his claims, any real details to his so called plans, and really believed in half the crap he has said he stands for then maybe just maybe he would have been able to explain things better. But instead of telling us what he would do if elected, all he did is make some vague promises and attack Obama's plans. No real plans were reviled from Mitt. It is funny that republicans all claim that Obama has this secret agenda for the country yet old Mitt and Ryan can get away with explaining nothing about their plans and we should just trust them. We tried that with Bush and looked what happened!!! Look at the massive debt racked up for two unfunded wars, tax cuts for the rich, and several young men and women wounded all because Bush wanted to finish what old dad could not in desert storm.

And he had the nerve to say that Bush was "unpatriotic" because he got us in debt! That he's so uncommitted to protect us from our enemies! That he has torn this country apart, not because of party differences, but because he's using RACE and WEALTH to do that. WAKE UP...can't you see what he's done and continues to do.....and will continue if re-elected!! I watched the video 2016, and quite honestly, it scared the crap out of me. A Kenyan father who was associated with communists. A preacher (Jeremiah Wright) who preaches NOT GOD BLESS AMERICA but GOD DAMN AMERICA. Obummer's association with that man for 20 years was, in and of itself, enough for me to not elect him.
