Martha Plimpton joined Lawrence O'Donnell on The Last Word Wednesday to tout a new effort designed to push back against the anti-abortion extremists running Congress.
The actress spoke on behalf of the Bill of Reproductive Rights, a new initiative of the Center for Reproductive Rights, which declares the right to make your own choices about your reproductive health and future a "fundamental human right."
The star of Raising Hope noted that 1 in 3 women in America will have an abortion at some time in her life. She added: "The point of all of this is to make people understand that the shame and the isolation that go along with this conversation have no place in what is essentially a perfectly legitimate and constitutionally protected medical procedure."
Plimpton is hardly the only luminary backing the camapign. It's also getting support from Kevin Bacon, Sandra Bernhard, Billy Crudup, Olympia Dukakis, Jenna Fischer, Caroline Kennedy, Lisa Kudrow, Tea Leoni, Audra McDonald, Oliver Platt, Amy Poehler, Kyra Sedgwick, Sarah Silverman, and Meryl Streep.
Here's the full text of the Bill of Reproductive Rights, which can be found at drawtheline.org:
The Bill of Reproductive Rights states:
We the people of the United States hereby assert the following as fundamental human rights that no government may deny, and that our governments at every level must guarantee and safeguard for all.
- The right to make our own decisions about our reproductive health and future, free from intrusion or coercion by any government, group, or individual.
- The right to a full range of safe, affordable, and readily accessible reproductive health care—including pregnancy care, preventive services, contraception, abortion, and fertility treatment—and accurate information about all of the above.
- The right to be free from discrimination in access to reproductive health care or on the basis of our reproductive decisions.

I support The Bill of Reproductive Rights. Please also check out my petition to include Dental, Hearing and Vision Healthcare with the new Affordable Health Care Act. These things are NOT included. How can anyone not consider these as part of Health Care? They can be financially devastating and lead to death if they're not covered. Here's the link -
Mitt Romney
isn't there a way to draw the line online??? If you don't have a smart phone how are you supposed to participate??
Google the name of the bill and you will eventually get there. But they're not making it very easy.
Mitt Romney,Paul Ryan, and the entire Republican Platform's position for involuntary Trans-Vaginal Probes seems like a very good reason for all rational male Republican voters to vote against their party in 2012. Ask any of these, "MEN," how would they feel if even one of their daughters, grand daughters, sisters, aunts, mothers, or even grandmothers, had to be subjected to a REPUBLICAN TRANS-VAGINAL PROBE, as a result of no fault or choice of her own? Please VOTE EARLY, AND VOTE these, Tea Party Creeps out of office now and forevermore. Thank YOU.
Men are born with those, it's called a penis.
Thomassis, do you mind if I borrow this. Has more logic than most the @!$%# I read every day. and Musician 54 your right and men with a penis that think like you do. Should have it removed because you dont know how to use it properly. It was not put there to probe or invade any woman.
yea, if I had to have a trans-vaginal probe I would want it to be a Democratic trans-vaginal probe, I hear they have a more sleek design.
On, a more serious note, I find that what I have heard about the bill of reproductive rights ( I haven't read the bill) seem great and would support it. I think that a woman should have the right to choose. I also like the part of this add that says she should be free from government influence. I take this to mean, the government should say completely 100% out of their decision including not funding her choice. Just like it's no-body's business but the woman and her partner, its nobodies responsibility buy her and her partners. One exception in the case of rape. we should always have compassion for victims.
FYI I have two kids, I know who thier mother is, they know who thier father is, I supported them all the way into adult life, one went to college, one didn't, they both work, and they both make over $50.000 per year. Heres the liberal myth killer, thier both WOMEN!
I too believe you should be required by law to get a trans vaginal probe every time you go to the doctors office chem.
Looks to be more your thing twinkie.
Here's the real myth killer music man....you just think they're your daughters...they're really mine.
Yeah??????? Kinda looks like you might have blond hair like my kids do, but your Neanderthal features rule you out.
Yes, they do favor my baby doll...er, I mean your wife.
I guess not all the Negro's are black.
I wonder how many bible-thumping Republican lawmakers fantasize about women being probed vaginally against their will. I suspect the impetus behind the change in rape laws has to do with the fact that most of these guys can't get laid based on their own appeal and need to use some kind of force or coercion. These policies don't spring from the minds of reasonable, thoughtful men. Penetration against a woman's will, via penis or probe, is rape. This is what the men in the GOP are resorting to so they can get off.
Cristina....your post is, in one word, disgraceful.
Speaking of getting laid? Your a long way from MILF material.
Oh, no! I seem to have offended a female right-winger and, evidently, another individual who enjoys doing things of a "probing" nature with other people's mothers. So glad my day has not been wasted. However, I would suggest that raping women by proxy (for that is precisely what these transvaginal probes are) is far more disgraceful than any comment I could make regarding right-wing bible-thumpers who salivate at the very thought of inflicting this humiliation upon women.
Cristina... Nowhere have I stated that I agreed with "probing". Do not assume that because someone does not agree entirely with this Administration that it means we agree with Romney 100%.
you are sick, christina
No one seems to want to state the obvious. Mitt Romney's behavior fits the description of one particular, rather scary character trait. His constant flip flopping, his lack of empathy, his use of dishonesty as a tool in pursuit of his main goal, the Presidency tells us only one thing. He is the embodiment of a classic sociopath! Had he been relegated to any other role in life, he'd have had no compunction about destroying people at will. Oops, sorry, he already done that!
Mick Ireland: And Obama doesn't "stretch the truth"? To call Romney a sociopath because you feel he lies should be attached to Obama's name also. Name calling from the left attacking those on the right. I will state that I DO NOT agree with everything Romney/Ryan are about, but to say some of the things the left says about them is mean. I don't know what Mitt Romney some of you see, but to make remarks that he is less than a loving and caring husband and father is inaccurate. No more than anyone saying the same about Obama and his family. I loathe what Obama has done to our country and what he stands for, but it's obvious that he loves his family and they love him.
As for knowing Romney, we all pretty much know of his past. (other than his taxes which the left makes such a big issue). If you all want to start bashing on him, then we can also start on Obama. His school records, his smoking pot (should we now call him a "druggie"?) The history of his father (not a very good American in my opinion...watch the movie 2016). Because his father had communist friends, should we then say Obama is a communist? That wouldn't be a fair thing to say now, would it? I rest my case.
Truth stretching, as you put it is hardly evidence of a sociopath, saying anything to get what you want, even to the extent of hurting others is. Romney is someone for whom lies are a tool...and let's face it, he does it so well. This is a guy who can do a complete 180 within seconds without batting an eye, not even hours or days. A sociopath believes doing anything at all is okay because they are entitled and no one should question their right to have or take whatever they want. This describes Romney to a tee. Outside a normal tendency towards crime, even violent crime, studies have shown that many big businessmen are in fact practicing sociopaths. It becomes their main relief and outlet for this anti-social behaviour. Read up on it.
I don't care what end of the political spectrum you come from, there is no way Obama has been bad for this country. Great? Perhaps not..but give him 4 more years, he may surprise you..especially if you look at current economic reports. And let's face it, the alternative is well a sociopath who will likely get us embroiled in WWIII! That's your choice? Really?
THE VICTIMS ARE THE CITIZENS OF AMERICA. You say Obama has been good for this country....just how? Lying about the terrorist attack for his own advantage, allowing people in his administration to lie???
Profile of the Sociopath
This website summarizes some of the common features of descriptions of the behavior of sociopaths.
Other Related Qualities:
Contemptuous of those who seek to understand themParanoidOnly rarely in difficulty with the law, but seeks out situations where their tyrannical behavior will be tolerated, condoned, or admiredConventional appearanceGoal of enslavement of their victim(s)Lets also not forget that the Republican party's adgenda from the get go was to stop President Obama from making even better jobnumber changes. They blocked the infrastructure pushes. Ryan was talking about working across the isle...there was NO working across the isle when our President and the Dems tried to reach out.
That vaginal probe looks like something Dr. Josef Mengele, The Angel Of Death, would have been happy to use in his Nazi medical experiments. I'd love to see how happy some of the GOPer's would be having this same instrument shoved up their collective as**es.
Sign the petition for your right to murder your own child, you all still want a choice. Here's a thought, you made the choice to go on the date, to get hammered, to makeout, to put yourself in a senario where sex could happen, and you chose to have unprotected sex. Now you want to kill your kid, because its your "God given right" to choose. Who cares your decision take the basic right of "life" away from your child, its the most sickning, selfish, evil ever to kill your kid because of your irresponsability. Murder is illegal, and abortion is just a fancy name for murder
Well, in your reality, God is a murderer then, because miscarriages happen. So, too, do fetuses born with only brain stems or other factors that make life outside of the womb impossible or with only non-existent quality.
And you hypocritical monsters don't seem to share the view that killings of individuals like Dr. Robert Tiller amounted to murder of a conscious human being rather than a cluster of cells lacking awareness.
Sorry for the basic biology lesson, but it's necessary because gross stupidity is not illegal, and some of us feel the need to expose it when we encounter it. The difference is we don't our views on you; we just expose them and leave you with the unpleasant choice of awareness of your own actions.
Yeah and you're walking home from church and you're gang raped by psychopathic thugs who escaped from prison. Being pregnant now by one of these convicted psychopaths means that you will not only have to give birth to a psychopathic child but also that you will have to drop out of high school.
So what were you saying about evil? Something about you imposing your religious will on another American woman's freedom and liberty?
So riddle me this lucy...should the rapist be put to death? What if they killed a child on their crime spree? After all murder is illegal and you would be murdering that person right? Murder is murder. What about war? Are you against that too? Again murder is murder. Get off your high horse and stop imposing your views on other Americans!
Sl cabby thanks for the science lesson, I can tell that you learned all of it from Sesame Street. I guess we should keep Big Bird on the air, because without that amazing education that you have you probably would have ended up being a cab driver. Thanks for the genius.
Sed the pot head, lucy didn't reference religion in her post. You and the prez need to cut back on the Reefer.
As usual chem you don't see inflicting your morality on others as a religious test or issue. I assure you it is. Open a book. Take a philosophy and/or political course. Oh I'm sorry you base all you political views on Fox/limbaugh propaganda don't you?
You forgot again, this is America. Based on a 230+ year constitution. It's not a country based on an Australian/Chinese/Saudi Arabian corporation's propaganda machine.
Well what will happen is that these women young or old will do what they had done in the past...start using coat hangers...
Hmmm...
Or be a grown up take responsibility for ones actions.
And you people think it barbarick for a republican to force you to have a vaginal probe. What is barbarick is what you are fighting for, the right to do this to your own child. Cut up and sucked out piece by piece and then put back together on the table to make sure all is accounted for. Or, some of you real sicko's wait till after your 6th month, then you get chemicals sprayed on the child so it will abort, and when it starts to come out, they stop, drill a hole in your child's head and suck it's brains out. When this law went into effect in the 70's we did not have the knowledge to state when life starts, but now we know...its at conception, its not just a blob, its your child.
Uhhh...that's because it IS! It would be "barbaric" no matter who proposed it, but it's the Republicans who own this one.
Great piece by Lawrence O'Donnell on the Draw the Line campaign for a Bill of Reproductive Rights for women. I particularly liked the ballsy move made by Deb Butler (Dem. candidate for NC State Senate), in her political ad, where she shows exactly what a trans-vaginal ultrasound probe looks like. Frankly, I think we need to go much farther.
There is no 'nice' way to say this, so let me be brutally honest. Here is the real argument we should be having. This is the bottom line:
The State of North Carolina, and the Commonwealth of Virginia now freely commit sexual assault.
If you want and/or need to have an abortion in those states you must submit to a trans-vaginal ultrasound procedure - which involves penetration of the vagina by the probe - without your consent.
State-mandated trans-vaginal ultrasound procedures, therefor, are legalized rape, forcible rape, 'legitimate' rape.
Every lawmaker who voted for it and every governor who signed it into law should be charged with conspiracy to commit sexual assault.
Every health care practitioner who performs and/or assists with the procedure should be charged with rape.
And then they should all go right to @!$%#ing jail.
I wish she would have shown what partial birth abortion looks like.
Honestly...I could care less what anyone chooses to do with their own bodies. What I do care about are the demands of those of you that choose to do those things. You did it, you want to get rid of it, then pay for it yourselves. You all want the rights to do as you choose with your bodies. I agree, that's your right. I agree re: affordable insurance. I disagree with having the taxpayers pay for such "rights". And inevitably it will be the taxpayers paying for such things. Where does it end? I'm fat, does that mean I should have the right to get un-fat at the expense of others? I got myself fat, just as you got yourselves pregnant. Seems like a no brainer to me.
I'm overweight, too, and a lot of getting that way involved the way I dealt with some particularly stressful times in my life (including brain-dead Daddy Bush's notions of how the U.S. economy should operate). I'm going to avail myself of whatever programs I can to mitigate the consequences and improve my health. That will allow me to participate more fully in life and be less of a burden to others than if I were in really bad health to the point where I was making even more demands on the health care system.
Society exists so that we can collectively provide for ourselves what we can't do individually, or at least not as effectively.
And the First Lady has targeted obesity because it is a cost effective way of containing health costs and raising the general welfare with a group of more productive citizens.
Your philosophy has "created" what you call a "population of losers" (Mitt called them 47 percenters) because they fill a need within you to feel superior when you realize full well that chance and circumstance had far more to do one's station in life than any intrinsic merit.
If someone gave me someone elses money and I didnt have to do anything for it, I would vote for obama too. How does that make you feel. If we are talking about the collective and I have to someday pay for your health insurance, I would take you out and teach you how to exercise (which is something that you should be able to do yourself) and control your damn eating for goodness sake or is that someone elses fault. Collective my ass. I help who have legitimate needs not for someone who has made poor life choices. Sleep in the bed YOU made. I dont want to sleep in it as well. Chance and circumstance my ass. How about hard work and and not feeling sorry for ones self. Dont take what others have because you dont care enough about yourself to better your life. you know how easy it is to go to college now adays? Hell, even a person who is from another country and speaks a foriegn language can get a grant. Alls it takes is a little hard work, maybe work a couple of jobs like a paper route or mcdondalds, or is it just easier to take those who work hard. How has blaming others for your problems helped so far? Pathetic.
@AmericanCombatVet First and foremost, THANK YOU for your service to our country. Your post was great! My husband served as a Marine in Viet Nam and passed in 2007. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for your service to our country. God Bless you...and God Bless America
To glibly place the act of aborting a fetus on that same level as a right to obtain affordable contraceptives or getting preventive gynecological care and information on pregnancy and birth control is absurd. Rowe vs. Wade specifies that the right to privacy secures the right to choose an abortion in the first trimester, but leaves to the separate states the powers to regulate the conditions and procedures used to abort a fetus in the second or third trimesters. That is settled law. It's a done deal folks. The Hyde amendment which bars the use of Federal tax dollars to pay for abortion expenses is also settled law, and needs to be respected.
To attempt to promote anything more, just as this current administration is under the immoral ObamaCare (with its tax payer subsidies for Health insurance premiums) that has the Health and Human Services Secretary designing mandated health insurance policies that specify the provision of FREE coverage (no deductions, no co-pays) 100% insurance paid abortion, surgical sterilization, on top of 100% insurance paid contraception is going in the direction of choice of an abortion procedure as smooth and seamless and insensitive as taking an aspirin for a headache...only in the case of the aspirin, that you will have to pay for.
We are, after all, talking of taking a life, folks.
Claudia I hope you never are raped and become pregnant. It isn't pleasant. You do not chose this situation. If I was pregnant from a rape it would not be my child but someone else's by a criminal act forced on me. It would be a mass of cell and I would use the pill right away after going to a clinic for the rape kit. I hope no ones child mother, sister, aunt or any other female ever has to go through what many, many, silent woman have gone through. Maybe if the one proposing all this were raped it would come out differently. Of course they can't become pregnant because of being men but just to give them the idea of what rape is so that issue is settled. Rape is Rape. No other name for it.
Who exactly are you accusing of proposing not allowing abortion in the case of rape or incest on the national scene, Beth? That charge doesn't fit anyone I know of! Let's stop with the hysteria!
But it is true that Obama and many of his supporters are promoting free access to abortion. I hope you are aware that since Rowe vs. Wade was decided by the Supreme Court, that guaranteed the right for a woman to choose abortion for any purpose that an estimated 16,000,000 black fetuses have beeb aborted in the United States. And under ObamaCare, the procedures for abortion become FREE for those with Health Insurance that is supported by subsidies from the US tax payer for premiums. Hence, you can expect that figure to rise even further if he is reelected.
Beth, first and foremost, I am so very sorry to hear that you were raped, if you are saying you were. However, nowhere in my posting did I mention rape. I was talking about a woman (and her male "friend") to be responsible for their actions. Maybe what needs to happen is to have both parties put in writing that each will be responsible for any medical services if needed. I don't have all the answers, but at my age (62) I am really tired of all the handouts. I understand there are situations when the government needs to give a helping hand (food stamps, unemployment etc.) but when a woman chooses to be sexually active, then she should be the one responsible for taking care of her body. Women that don't want any man telling them how to take care of their bodies shouldn't expect the taxpayers to pay for something (contraceptives) or their "mistakes" because they cannot "afford" them is hog wash. They also have things called "condoms" and one should insist her partner use them, especially if she cannot "afford" contraceptives.
Does the name "Paul Ryan" strike any bells with you, Keith? What's truly hysterical is that you don't seem to know that.
He's tried to worm his way out of it by saying that Romney's policies would be the governing force, but that doesn't change his past record or his earlier association with the views of Todd Akin. Those two could be forming a circular firing squad...all by themselves.

I'd ask you to provide some corroboration for that statement, knowing full well that you'll probably resort to your usual dodge, duck, deflect, and stagger tactic.
But I'll ask anyway. Let's see if you can...
Rawstory.com, Huffingtonpost.com, and thenewcivilrightsmovement.com? I wouldn't waste my time with their garbage.
As to the freebies in the mandated health insurance policies regarding "women's reproductive rights", why go to the Health and Human Services being sued by Roman Catholic dioceses in Federal Courts search and learn it for yourself. fool!
"Freebies" and Insurance are contradictory terms moron. Unless you can turn me on to a "free" insurance program.
Seriously Republicans are complete and total idiots who will believe any and all propaganda. But read what Keith wrote above. I refuse to read. He will only listen to Limbaugh and Fox well known liars. He wont even use an ounce of critical thought.
Keith, you have this typical right-wing habit of using opinions to take the place of facts for your prior opinions. Sad... You also have this decidedly obtuse idea that it's the responsibility of others to prove you wrong, but it's not your responsibility to prove yourself right. There's ample evidence of that. Must be just another of those "life experiences" you've failed to comprehend.
It doesn't work...even if you were somewhat proficient at that trait, which you aren't. Their "garbage", as you term it, is light years ahead of the "Keith Longey synthesizing" technique...at least as you've demonstrated it to be.
But, as usual, you can't offer any proof to back up your spew. Why, you can't even transcribe names correctly when you attempt to offer anything other than an opinion. Too much to expect from such a "learned man", I guess.
This "Whack-a-Keith" game is just to-o-o-o easy...
I'm voting for Presdient Obama.
I don't want any man telling me what I can/can't do to my body.
I'm also Anti Abortion,Pro Adoption,~ and also pro choice.
The last being if a woman thinks that she can really handle the emotional baggage
that a Abortion brings, I know what that like, I had an unwanted abortion in 1973.
Also my parents never gave me the choice of having my son and giving him up.
My birth mom did just that~ twice. She gave up me & my sister and her parents
never even thought of abortion..
No one says that women can't do reproductively what they want. The law is clear. I don't think that taxpayers in anyway should have to support their efforts. Women have the choice at the time of making the decisions to engage in sexual activities. Therein is where the responsibility lies... Women who become pregnant do so because of their choices. When their choice turns into an unwanted pregnancy, why should taxpayers have to take the brunt of those choices. Abortion is clearly legal, but a woman should have to clean up her own mess if that is the way she feels about an unborn child. It is totally her fault unless rape is involved. Perhaps there needs to be a law about the male partner needing to take 1/2 of the financial responsibility since he is half the cause. This business of everyone else needing to pay for the irresponsible actions of others is a crock! If you do the deed, you pay the consequences. The sad thing is that the unborn child pays the consequences for the irresponsibility of the parents. And that is the saddest part of the whole conversation.
As a survivor I absolutely support the Bill of Reproductive Rights. I did not become pregnant after being raped - but I know women who did, and I know they were anguished by the decision to have an abortion. And in fact it was the right decision for them at that time.
Women have been fighting for their rights as citizens of this country since the Revolution - during which Abigail Adams wrote her husband John, telling him not to 'forget the ladies' - and the fight - which many women thought was settled 19 years ago with Roe v Wade and other decisions and laws is on again this election year - not because the people arguing against women's rights are highly principled, but because they needed a distraction from the trouble they're causing in this country and the problems they refuse to address.
SL Cabbie I understand depression, anxiety attacks, all that depressing stuff. I too got this way because life wasn't so great. Still, I don't believe the taxpayers should be paying for my health issues. These days, many drug makers will help with medications. Or so they advertise they will. I've had to pay, out of pocket, for mental health counseling. Sucks, but that's life. Now, at 62 (this happened when I was much younger) thankfully life is good for me.
The Bush era wasn't such a great one, but, as the liberals take no blame for those 8 years, they actually had a hand, maybe 2 hands in helping this country get that way. Please read the following carefully. It's something I "took" from another posting some time back.
Add to that the fact that it was Bill Clinton who signed in 1999 the legislation sponsored by Chris Dodd and Barney Frank that allowed for the combining of commercial and investment banking that gave us "banks that were too big to fail", just as the Dodd-Frank reform bill solidified those Wall Street institutions that threaten our financial system still. And under Bill Clinton, his Federal Reserve Chief Alan Greenspan led the campaign against the Republican efforts to bring regulation to the growing use of "credit default swaps" and other derivatives in the late 1990s that so worsened the effects of the housing market bubble bursting in 2007.
Romney wants to assign many decisions to the States. What this tells me is that Romney wants the Voters to be subjected to the whims of the largest Corporate contributor(his proprietors) to the economy of that particular State, rather than the Federal Government(his enemy)!
The Former carries with it inherent unpredictable consequences! Not unlike Romney himself, this is questionable option for the average Voter as it would result in multiple State decisions on any one Law!
According to the constitution thats how it works. States are to have soveriegn rights but as we have seen over the past 4 years he has re-written the Constitution in his own mind to craft states to his liking. Just wait. If he gets another 4 years, Obama and the UN are giong to craft binding global law which we will have to abide by. It IS coming but the Lemming party won't believe it until its too late, like everthing else they doubt, then becomes reality.
Don't you just love a good right-wing "conspiracy" theory?
But there's just so-o-o many to choose from these days!
So death penalty wrong for murderers, rapist and pedophiles but ok for bin laden, gadaffi and of course killing the innocent unborn. Guess these women cant stop sandra fluking men (or women who are now men or from a man who once had a thing but is now a women) Check. Who would want to have sex with this horse anyway. She picked a winner. Reproductive health? At least there is some admission of a life being reproduced but whatever makes someone feel better about themselves. Why is it that Liberals are against having an ultrasound before having killing a child?
benghazi, fast and furious, unemployment miraculauly going down the most its ever gone down in something like 30 years cause the potus cant debate with out a teleprompter (oh, forgot to include California in that unemployment survey...Ooppps), his selective service record, college transcripts, libya, egypt. But no one wants to talk about that. At least persons who are following this man into a garbage pit.
musician54, I have some swamp land in Florida I would love to sell you.
In Mitts Case if his grand father took this advive we would not have to go through his absurd 2year flip folping .To bad he did not !!
Isn't it pitiful that having suddenly after the First Debate misfire by Obama, the panicked Democrats and their echo chamber liberal media had to reinvent this tired old discredited subject of a War on Women to try to stop the Romney/Ryan momentum? I guess seeing the polls showing Romney tied with Obama for the women's vote post debate turned them back into hysterics again, hmmm?
I find it as disgraceful as Joe Biden acting like a twelve year old, that Biden and Obama have to be dragged, kicking and screaming to discuss thier record. Martha Raddatz made it harder to do so by cutting off key areas of those issues.
Abortion as a method of birth control is murder. It is not reproductive health. Rape, incest, OK. But not birth control.
No one? Larry, Rachel, Ed, Paul Begala?
What your telling most people is that your just an idiot. if you believe it hard enough, a playing in the freeway can be fun. Go check it out and use the same rational you use everyday with regard to the "malarky" spewing out of your fourth point of contact. Thank goodness for states and their legal rights. Better than a federal government who cant even protect its own ambassadors.
Please no flaming, I have a question, an honest question. I am asking people about consensual sex, not rape. If a person engages in an act that results in a pregnancy, with or without birth control, why is there no personal responsibility for the woman. The consequences are to the developing baby an innocent party.
If a person does not want children should they then not engage in activities where the end result could be a child. No form of birth control is 100% effective except sterilization and abstinence.
