Thursday night's vice presidential debate was heavy on both theater and substance. Shortly after the MSNBC panel gave Joe Biden high marks for his combative debating persona, MSNBC contributor Ezra Klein fact-checked the policy substance of Paul Ryan's response. Regarding both the economic recovery and his own record on Medicare and Social Security, Klein said, Ryan just didn't have his facts straight.
For example, Klein said, Ryan misled when he claimed that the economy had gotten worse under the Obama administration. The Republican candidate advanced that claim when talking about Biden's home town of Scranton, Pa.
"Do you know what the unemployment rate in Scranton is today?" he said. "It's 10%. You know what it was the day you guys came in? 8.5%. That's how it's going all around America."
"In fact, that's just completely not true," Klein said. The nationwide unemployment has not risen since Obama took office. "In January 2009, unemployment was 7.8%; today, nationally, it's 7.8%. So it went up, and it came back down. And if you go from February of 2009, which is the first full month of Barack Obama's presidency, it was above 8% already. So it is actually lower than when Obama entered office."
Ryan, Klein said, was trying to suggest that there was no recovery. But in fact, "we are having a slow recovery, but it is a recovery, and things are getting better."
Klein also fact-checked Ryan's insistence that he and Romney were "not going to jeopardize" Medicare and Social Security. Debate moderator Martha Raddatz replied that Ryan had "stood with [President George W.] Bush on privatization" of Social Security.
"It wasn't just that Paul Ryan stood with Bush on privatization," said Klein. "He actually stood well to the right of Bush on privatization." In fact, he said, Peter Wehner—a member of Bush's own economic team—called Ryan's privatization plan "irresponsible."
Ryan "continued to promote different forms or privatization throughout the next decade," Klein added.
"If you saw what happened to George W. Bush with Social Security," summarized MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, "if you liked that, buckle up."

I'm just glad VP Biden called Ryan out on those lies. A- for VP Biden, cause u shld always have room to get better..F- for Ryan, Republicans don't have a plan & think that they can magically fix any problems...which they cldve if they wldve just sined those Bills the Dem wanted them to sign!
Tacy, Those BILLS you talk about were submitted WITHOUT the ability to have any discussion or ability to make amendments whioch has dbeen the Method of this Administration for the last 4 years. No discussions or amendments, our way or the highway. And your president ? submitted a a budsget that NOONE in the senate voted for because it was too radical and made no sense for tyhe welfare of the COUNTRY...Just thought you might ewant to know what your DEmocrat SENATE is doing...Stop blaming Republicans, the Democrat senate is doing things OUT OF THE NORMAL discourse of state activities....Obama care was passed forcibly WITHOUT ACTUALLY READING WHAT IS IN IT. Nancy Pelosi said "WE NEED TO PASS IT NOW THEN READ WHAT IS IN IT LATER"....There is no Partisan ship in the senate. It is Democrats trying to railroad Obama agenda through without any input from ANYONE....I mean this respectfully asI can put this..This is what is going on in the senate.
Fiftyohms - It is the Republicans that will not compromise. They have actively worked to prevent economic recovery. Obamacare is based on principles that Rs used to support, until their entire agenda became defeating the current administration.
I can't agree you more Tracy and Fifty less! I remember getting angry with Obama in the beginning of his adminstration because he was always going to capitol hill trying to talk to the republicans and get their support and input. Every single time he was sent packing (even on their own ideas with a big a$$ no!)
It got so bad I though if he just keeps going back he needs his butt kicked. They are not going to help him! They made it very plain. It is amazing the amnesia so many people have. It was ridiculous and they even publicly admitted they were going to stonewall him. The Healthcare bill would of never been passed if they didn't do it the way they did.
The top repubs. are the party of racist and no non-white man will get their help to be a successful president. They feel that office is their right and not a privilege. Just do a little histroy of the 40's, 50's, 60's, heck just check history period and see what these people feel about colored's. They lied about them then and they are doing the same thing now.
I stated my position. I have watched the senate every day for the last 3 years. I have been unemployed since 2007. You can believe my comments or disbelieve my comments. The DEMOCRAT agenda is being forced down congresses through with the normal discourse of the ability to DEBATE a bill or make AMMENDAMENTS to the bill..Harry Reid is the one who will not allow any bill to the floor of the senate because he will not allow ANY DEBATE or AMENDMENTS to bills. You really want ti blame the economy or work for economic change on the Rewpublicans?? The house has submitted a spending bill to the senate as REQUIRED by law EVERY year...The Senbate has brought to the senate florr NONEW of the Budgets submitted by the house. The senatre has NEVER BREOUGHT a budget biull to the floor in the last 4 YEARS...NOT ONE...Obama submitted a budget bill to the senate and it got ZERO VOTES by any member of the senate..It went down 99 to 0. So you want to discuss obstructionism with respect tot eh economy and budget discussions...ASK your DEMOCRAT senator why their has NEVER been a budget submitted by the DEMOCRAT controlled SEANTE !!!
sorry I am a terrible typer using my Tablet PC...
You are sadly going to depise this Obamacare bill if and when it gets totally implemented...It is going to be much more epensive then reported by Obnama and his actuaries..and the ability to get the medical services you want is going to be much more difficult...83 percent of medical doctors say they will jsut quit their profession because of medicare payment reductions and controls over whAT THEY WILL BE ABLE TO CHARGE. So the COST will go up as well the ability to get medical services will go down...Majority of peopler DO NOT WANT THIS OBAMACARE thing because we all know it is going to cost MONEY..WE have no money...
So here is my fianlize issue with Obama..He has an agenda..He is arrogant to believe HE and GOVT knows best for the individual. This is NOT what the constutution and our founders believe in. This has been a totql attempt for FORCE and agenda WITHOUT the chance to debate or ammend the plan because it is Obama way or the highway and he is truely hell bent on getting hos way..This is unprecididnerted ibn our history and truely arrogant to believe he can run this gammit...I respect your choice to disagree and respect you going to vote for whoever you want to vote for..I dont like the policies, I cannot get a job..and I know I will NEVER get one under the TAX and Spend agenda we see the last 4 years..IT ISNT WORKING...My perspective...
you have no idea about the healthcare bill future problems. Just like it was told if they don't invade iraq it will be a disaster and they opposite was true. The same people are talking gloom and doom about healthcare. So I prefer not to get fooled again by republicans! I will find out for myself. also usa is the only developed country without universal healthcare. The other countries aren't complaining, they are just laughing at the usa fighting healthcare coverage. go figure! If a doctor is going to stop their practice because they can't milk the system? Good riddens!
Why is Ezra Klein giving national unemployment stats in response to a Scranton-specific claim? I'm no fan of Ryan's, but in this instance he was referring to unemployment in Scranton. I don't know what those figures are, but the national figures are irrelevant to this particular claim.
You cannot use the unemployment stat for one particular city to determine the effectiveness of the Obama administration when talking about the unemployment rate. It is the national average that counts. Yuma, AZ, has somewhere around 29% unemployment, so Scranton is doing pretty well compared to some other cities. However, it is the national average of ALL cities that is the indicator of whether the unemployment rate is improving. What was Ryan's motive for harping about Scranton? Now that's a better question.
Because Congressman Kruger (running mate to Governor Dunning) specifically said, "That's how it's going all around America."
Republicans: You are blind and deaf.
We were Republicans. My sons Democrats. I could not understand how
two intelligent ,responsible men could be.
Guess what? Now we regret voying Rep those many years.
It was this business of abortion that moved me.
My mother died and left a new born because she did not believed in an abortio.
She left my soldier father with 4 young kids to raise.
I wanted to honor her??
Doesn't nationwide include Scranton?
Ryan also said "That's how it's going all around America"... which is NOT true.... How can Ryan & Romney get away with misrepresenting the facts.. in other words LYING... I thought that Vice-President Biden was kind by saying that Congressman Ryan was full of "Malarkey".... what he was saying was not the truth.....in plain english... they were lies
You are exactly right PepperMike! In addition, I guess Ryan didn't get the memo that Romney is now saying that he will not make abortion part of his agenda. Ryan still thinks they are going to end all abortion except in certain circumstances, like if you were "legitimately raped". They keep talking smller government but they want to control women's bodies! They need to find a way to just tell us the truth!!
I went to the Bureau of Labor Statistics to find the recent Civilian Labor Force data. Between January 2002 and January 2009 the Civilian Labor Force grew 10.353 million. Between January 2009 and September 2012 the Civilian Labor Force Grew 0.827 million. The growth rates respectively were 1.479 million more workers per year and 0.225 million workers workers per year. The difference 1.254 times 3.67 years means that 4.602 million workers did not enter the labor force between January 2009 and September 2012. Therefore a more accurate way of counting the number of people not working who want to work would be 16.757 million rather than 12.155 million. And the unemployment rate would be 10.5% instead of 7.8% Citizens who don't understand this would do America a favor by not voting. The loss to Civil Society of the Discouraged Worker Effect is the Trillion dollars worth of goods and services that they could have produced. I am sure that the Poor and Middle Class Discouraged Workers surely would have appreciated the opportunity to earn that Trillion dollars. We are experiencing a failure of democracy in America because the electorate voted for a President whose sole purpose was to destroy the Economy. After four years as we survey the damage that Economic Science and Common Sense predicted was inevitable, we still have people who will vote for Obama because he is for the middle class and the poor.
Vice President Biden did a wonderful job tonight on the debate and he kept Ryan on the run as well. Ryan learned the difference between age and experience tonight. Great job Joe!
I thought news was supposed to be unbiased? As an undecided voter, I feel you need to have Biden fact checked by a Republican like you had Ryan checked by a Democrat. I'm not getting a TRUE and UNBIASED review of the debate from you. Uncool.
Unbaise and undecided??? I believe in the days to come both candidates comments will be fact checked...
But obviously not tonight. Yes, I'm undecided. As an Independent I can honestly say I was one who was "injured" in Obama's term. I've been laid off and as a "Middle American" and "College Educated" individual, I have not found a job in over a year. I'm not a fan of either candidate at the moment and learning and have been learning as much as I can on both. Unbiased news information favoring one candidate vs the other isn't helping at all. I'll have to find my information elsewhere, not here on MSNBC whom are obviously majority Democrats.
Obviously not tonight. Yes, I am undecided. As an Independent, I am learning as much as I can from both candidates and not having unbiased information from MSNBC isn't helping. I can honestly say I have been "injured" by the Obama term. As a "Middle America", "College Educated" woman. I have not found work in over a year, my medical insurance has increased dramatically and my husband's pay, he has not had a cost of living raise in the 4 years Obama has been in office yet gas, groceries, cost of living keeps rising. I need to vote for the best candidate that will help people like me get out of the "depression" that most of "Middle America" is in.
If you want fact checks look at politifact, neither of them were completely honest but Ryan was the bigger pinocchio.
If you want conservative media information, go to fox, they are busy whining about the little girl VP choice they have being picked on.
Ronni - What you should be learning about is how much direct impact/control the President has on the economy. They way Ryan talks, Obama is solely and directly responsible for the rate of economic recovery, which anyone who is educated on how our government works knows is categorically untrue. Ryan's manipulation of selective facts to support false claims is indicative of the GOP party platform and it's presidential ticket. He trotted out one of my favorite falsehoods to discredit during the debate: "Obama had majority control in Congress for two years and he didn't get things done" - as if Republicans were simply sitting by wringing their hands in dismay and unable to affect anything. The actual facts - which are a matter of public record for anyone who bothers to look - paint quite a different picture. Ryan of course didn't acknowledge his party's role during the past 4 years in the debate - because then he wouldn't be able to lay the blame completely at Obama's door. Even before the 2010 election and the GOP takeover of the House, they effectively blocked an AMAZING amount of legislation from even reaching the floor for a vote, through the wholesale abuse of the ridiculous filibuster process in the Senate. Had they allowed these issues to receive the benefit of an up or down vote, then perhaps now they would have a shred of credibility when they claim that Obama's (and by association, Democrats overall) policies have failed. They have done everything in their power to block EVERYTHING the President or the Democrats have tried to do to improve the employment and economic situation - even things that the GOP has itself advocated for years, all of a sudden became totally unacceptable when proposed by the Democrats. I don't know if the policies that were blocked would have been successful or not - but I do know it's disingenuous and outrageous to claim that Obama had carte blanche and still failed.
Ronni Behrend: Perhaps you should do some of your own, then draw your conclusions.
I do not understand how anyone can still be "undecided" at this point? Look at the issues: social security, medicare, women's issues, education, taxes...etc. Figure out which side you fall on and make up your mind already!! I think there is a very stark difference between the two parties and their respective platforms. To sit there and say you are "undecided" at this point is ridiculous. Do you even know when election day is???
AND... if a president could impact the economy in the way Ryan implies, W(hy)TF didn't W do that and fix it all up all "nice and perrty"? The senate that came into office with President Obama (2009) barely had 60 filibuster proof votes for just a small portion of that session. Teddy Kennedy was so sick he could not attend and then he dies and there was a period of time when his seat was vacant.
Ronni Behrend~~You really do not sound like an independent, nor do you sound like an un-decided. What you say are the words of a radical right-winger, who worships the (R) and fox news/propaganda channel, without any regard for issues in your own best interest. I too am an independent, but I have known for a long time who is working for me and my own best interest and my countrys' best interest, without lying and/or controlling/dictating my personal lifstyle/opinions and/or thoughts. That person is President Barack Obama, who will go down in history as one of, if not the greatest American President in history. I am one of the 47% that Romney has kicked to the curb and I am one of the 99% that republicans have thrown under the bus. I will never in my lifetime vote for another republican. Republicans have passed the point of no return, from the destruction and corruption, they have forced upon this once greatest nation in the world.
Barack Obama will go down as the WORST President in history. A complete SOCIALIST with no regard to American values. How long do you Entitled Democrats expect for people to take care of you? You want everything to go your way. Gay rights, civil rights, abortion rights.....and then you totally ignore the Bill of Rights! ME, ME, ME. It's old and it's ruining our country. 47% of the people in this great nation are looking for a hand out. Corruption? How about ACORN? He hung out with extremists who hate white people. This man spends more time golfing and vacationing on YOUR tax money....oh wait, you don't pay taxes.....on MY money because he's just plain Ghetto Rich.
JKJM you arrogant extremist! I am sure the money you put in the government you have already used it up for your own government payments and it barely covered the maintenance of the dirt road you live on. Tell that me me me crap to the rich people your are trying to catch that trickle of a crumb from! They are the ones on the entitlement train!
When I sign on to watch this debate I did so as a competent well- informed registered voter who relocated to the inner city - and to Ryan's surprise I have character. I was not surprise when Ryan attempted to mislead the American people. After all, he is learning from the best. He's on the ticket with a notorius liar. The only recovery plan they have that has become transparent is to misled the people in their attempt to lie the way to the White House. I am happy that Biden went in on Ryan on several major issues which left Ryan looking like the idiot that he is...
The highlight of the debate for me is when Biden lit in on Ryan about the letter he wrote to the VP requesting stimilus funding- which Ryan is so against now..such a liar.
Did anyone else notice Ryan failed to answer the question when they were asked if they felt any shame about the negativity of the campaign?
Biden answered saying something to the effect he regretted some of the things that have been said.
Ryan, like any true sociopath incapable of feeling guilt, remorse, shame, empathy or compassion, fell back on sound bites about why people should vote from Romney and went off making more negative comments.
My 91 year old mother noted how much water Ryan was drinking. {Mom is a WWII veteran Navy nurse.}
She said, "My goodness, that young man appears to be water-boarding himself. I'll bet he's in a hurry to get to a restroom when he gets off the stage."
Liars do have a tendency to suffer from dry mouth and have a major difficulty maintaining eye contact.
I noticed this as he responded to several of the questions. It is a blessing to have a mother as insightful as your mom. I salute her as a pioneer and veteran for her services and commitment to this great country.
You really size Ryan up. Thanks for sharing
I noticed and was completely appalled that he took a frustration that most Americans share in the lack of real answers and the negative attacks from both sides and turned it into a chance to become a rabid dog attacking. Biden definitely scored points with his answer, Ryan does what republican do, blame everything on Obama and take no responsibility for their part in the failure of the economy.
Hmmmmmmm......the only eye contact Obama had, last week was with his belt buckle! Are you sure you want to play that theory? Too funny!
I thought the same thing man is he ever drinking a lot of water he is dry from telling all those lies. I thought that Joe Biden took everything not to interrupt more with what was coming out of Ryan mouth so the smiling was like what can ya say folks. hE HIT HIM ON 3 MAJOR POINTS AND THAT is what I needed to hear,\Obama /Biden get my vote.
drugs will dry out your mouth. steroids, HGH, weed...just saying
That Marsha Blackburn bitch was so full of sh_it with her rambling duck_and_weave, yadda_yadda answer. It's clear from the Teapublican actions of the last couple years that they will do whatever they can to overturn Roe vs Wade, and will prioritize that over any economic action that will benefit anyone outside the 1%
Isn't that the truth Bann. I was amused she never did answer Chris Matthews question regarding abortion. She wasn't about to give her "personally" belief on the matter for fear of losing votes. Seems like a common game plan for Republicans.....duck & weave or waffle, waffle, waffle. Republicans are all etch-a-sketch politicians.
I am amazed at how so many forgot that in 2010 so many Republicans ran on the premise of jobs, but once they won they blocked nearly everything that President Obama has done to attempt to create jobs and anything else to help the economy.
Nearly everything that Ryan said in tonight's debate that the administration had not accomplished was blocked by Republicans. Looks as if he forgot this as well.
Republicans decided four years ago that they were going to block every thing that the President attempted so that he would be a one-term president. Currently there are 2 books on the subject and Republican Senate Minority Mitch McConnell has publicly stated many times that "the most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president", rather that do the job that he was elected to do.
The media needs to remind people of the facts more often. Thank you Mr. Klein.
And Speaker Bonehead's "jobs jobs jobs" 2009 House started off with lots of abortion/birth control legislation.
Ryan and company are constantly complaining about the Obama administration is constantly placing blame on Bush, in other words. What else are they suppose to do? Are they placing the blame incorrectly? President Obama is trying to clean up their mess and unsurprisingly it isn't going to be cleaned up in 4 or 8 years. But we're moving in the right direction, away from the direction we were heading 4 years ago. Why can't the right acknowledge this much? Congress has a 7 percent approval rating and they have the audacity to complain? Geez.
Bahahahahahah!! Throw out the garbage excuses. We got someone who can fix it in way less time. Move out of the way and let the pros get to work, enough with the weak, whinny excuses!
Moto~~In your dreams, WAKE UP!! Your pros made the mess, that Obama is digging us out of. No one can dig us out of the cultural devastation brought upon this nation by the American taliban, in the first decade of this twenty-first century. It seems this taliban culture is here to stay, due to anti-Americans, like you and the republican taliban party.
Moto....HOW??? Republicans talks the walk, but doesn't walk the walk. Your words have no substance just like "Republican's miraculous plans." IF they have a plan, by all means, tell us what it is? How do they plan to create these jobs they taut. Say abra-cadabra and poof, jobs magically appear. PUHLEEZ.....they may have brainwashed you into thinking they have a resolution to the country's unemployment problem, but they are not fooling the Democrats. Oh, I guess the House GOP are going to stop filibustering and sign those jobs bills they have sitting on their tables gathering dust. Is that their plan?
Pros??? Ah, you mean professional snake-oil salesmen? It's apparent they sold you a boatload of the juice and you're delusional from drinking too much of it. Again, I ask, just HOW do they plan to fix Bush's mess in "way less time?" Ryan's five point plan? (whatever that is). Cain's 999 plan?
I give you the "Joe Laugh" ;-D)) ha.ha.ha.ha.ha.ha!!
I can not believe that what you wrote came to you so easily. Was this a paid political announcement paid by Jack Welch or Donald Trump?
As I read I was hearing Mitt and Ryan going BLAH! BLAH! BLAH!
Amen, Claudia! Dems want to run from that kind of information and statistics. Obama worsened the whole economic situation. The only answer they have is to call people liars. Weak!
Just curious. Have you ever heard of the filibuster? It's what made this Congress a 7% body, and prevented the Senate from moving forward on most every piece of Democrat proposed legislation. Blaming the Democrats and Obama for not doing more, or accomplishing anything worthwhile is absurd, since they were stonewalled by politicians who only want Obama out of office regardless of the cost to our country. Obfuscating with your numbers and dates doesn't do a thing to move the national discussion forward. Two unfounded Bush wars that accomplished absolutely nothing positive, has cost trillions.
Claudia McQuown Stevens Haney~~Your personal opinion, does not correct facts make. Democrats and independents are too smart to consider your personal opinion as facts. Get over it!!
Come on Great Gran. You really buy in to this Democratic socialist agenda? You want to pay for everyone else's health care? or, you want me to pay for yours, I guess?
How can you have a blind eye to what's going on in this country?
JKJM-7058487#10.5~~What democratic socialist agenda? Why do you bring up health care? I already help pay for the health care for those who do not have health insurance, and you do also, if you have health insurance. That is why I am for the mandate, requiring everyone to have health insurance. I don't need, nor do I want, you are anyone else paying for my health care. I have the best health insurance, anyone could have, and I wish everyone could have the same insurance I have. I don't have a blind eye to what is going on in this country, I know full well, exactly what is going on in this country, and it is not pretty. Too many people think like you. "I got mine and you can't have any". Why do you people always think others want you to pay for theirs? Does that way of thinking make you feel superior?
@Ronnie Behrend
Are you living in a bubble (and I mean that with no disrespect). But you definitely need to educate yourself a little more...maybe take a economic course (it will do wonders for you...trust me) BTW, just look up Ryan and Romney's policies (they are all over the net videos included) you don't need a magic wand to decide.
@Claudia McQuown Steve Haney
Please stop cutting and paste partially true accounts. Fannie Mac and Dodds were only the tip of the iceberg to this mess. If it wasn't for the democrats blocking privatization on SS..this would have been a bigger mess. Were is your information on 2008 fiscal year, when the Iraq war really started to show up in the books. You know that lttle thing with the bush tax cuts bringing in no new revenue from 2005 - 2008. Hmmm..if you going to be biased at least write what YOU really think and feel. Not some cut and paste job to justify your point.
It's so untruthful the way dems talk about what a recovery we have had under Obama. The statement about unemployment being lower than when he took office is so foul. What about the 43 months of above 8% and into the 9% unemployment rate during his term. Do we erase those statistics as if they didn't happen. And do we trust him that they will not happen again. When he was the architect of those statistics, I don't trust him.
jes33, stop and think just a little, will you? Can you forget about the 43 months, 8%, 9% employment that WAS!! Today its below 8%. No you don't erase those statistics as if they didn't happen, but you cannot ignore the 7.8% unemployment rate or the almost 5 million people that got jobs in the last 30 months either! And that is exactly what you are doing. There are many factors that are involved when it comes to calculating the numbers. The factor that matters the most to me are the people that got jobs and are now working to try and make ends meet for their families. Tell them that things are bad for them!! Tell them that the statement about unemployment being lower than when he took office is so foul and see how foul THEY think it is! Though the numbers are not lower than what you think they should be (what is it by the way?), I'm thankful that people are going back to work and it appears, as slow as it may be, that we are going to get better.
It is NOT below 8%. These numbers are based on people that file for unemployment compensation. They do NOT include the number of people out of work that can no longer get these benefits. That's your Democratic math working.
Ronni, you can blame the repubs in CONGRESS for lack of jobs. They have blocked all the jobs bills and the HIGHWAY bill just to make political gains and keep the President from showing improvement.
Unemployment in my city is higher than the state and national average and we know who to blame. The Congressional voting record is available online, look at the bills and see how your rep voted. My rep is a repub and voted NO on three (3) bills that would have immediately brought 11,000 NEW jobs to my area and when those people began spending money more jobs would have been created or retained. The highway bill would add 1.3 million jobs across America and additional jobs, etc., etc., etc. One bill affecting my area would mean new transmission lines for power producers both existing and new solar and wind power systems. We suffer brownouts in very hot weather now because the transmission lines are old and need replacing.
Yeah, those bird blenders were a great idea...............................(sarcasm off)
Another example, Moto, to support my claim you have been drinking too much of the Repubs snake-oil.
More proof that libs have nothing beyond over-generalized rhetoric.
Scranton is all but bankrupt. Remember when the big news there was that they couldn't pay the city workers anything more than minimum wage? Including the mayor? If Ezra wants to fact check he should start by being honest.
Didn't read the article did you? NOPE, you didn't.
Once again Ryan said,"Do you want 4 more years of the same." THAT is a "THREAT" that the GOP in congress will do as they have been doing obstructing and stopping all the bills and policy's that would help the recovery.
The GOP are talking out of both sides of their mouth...They know that they have stopped every attempt to create jobs in congress...And for months they have caused expensive voting interference...I can not believe the ignorance of the American people.
The GOP in congress should be brought up on criminal charges for doing everything they could to destroy the economy and lives of the American people..The working people's lives mean nothing to them or they would not be stopping every bill that would help the people....They have hurt the 47%..Terribly....You know those people WHO do not count ..They have already proved that the working people mean nothing to them...
Hmmmmm......I hear many talking of Ryan's lies.........well, lets get specific, if you can. How about one for one; I'll start.......................Joe said he did not vote to invade Iraq/Afgan......................and that is a blatant, provable lie! O.K., your turn; now remember.................specifics.
Provable it....lol Snake-oil junkie.
Ahhhhh, you are so clever, little trixter............
Well there, Kleinny boy, the POTUS' own words are what seal his demise. Rember, "If we pass the stimulus bill, enemployment will not go over 8%".........................Wrong!
Obama did not say will not gover 8%, his Economic Advisor did. Remember, economists were recommending a greater stimulus, but that was not going to pass, so they got what they could. Ryan said 20 M would lose health care, that is a .......misrepresentation (read lie); projected coverage was a decrease of 3M. The 20M was a lie. Allowing someone to force their will on others denies those others the same freedom all were guaranteed by our contitution. I am sick of Congress wasting their time governing women's issues when there are greater matters that need attention.
Your buddy, Barney Frank says otherwise in this link.
Next..............................................
The majority of economic experts, even the republican ones, agree that the stimulus was the right thing to do. It was just not big enough. Bush signed two versions of a stimulus as did Reagan. A stimulus is a normal and correct action when the economy starts to falter.
Meanwhile, up until a few months ago, Romney knowingly had millions invested into a Chinese company that invests in Iran.
It is an act of treason to invest in Iran.
Any investment in Iran frees up funds for the regime to move closer to a nuclear bomb or in the least more funds to buy weapons that may kill our soldiers.
When do you call a traitor a traitor?
Republicans will say do anything to get in power even sleep with the devil
You busy tonight? Bahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!
For those undecided people, if you vote for Romney/Ryan maybe something will trickle down in a few yrs, but I wouldn't hold my breathe. With all the info out there how can anyone believe what Romney says, you can fact check anything and get the truth. I am shocked at how many think Romney (Bain Capital)get all the money you can and leave person can fix all the problems we have. He can't tell you what his actual plans are because he changes with every audience(flip-flop), does he even know?He needs to ask the Koch bros. or the Teapublicans..... I think the President has done a good job considering the Republicans obstruction of the Jobs bill, Highway bill, and etc. would have helped the country, but politics was more important to them. And the Veterans Bill was just the last straw for me, it was written by Repub. and Dem. and they wouln't let anything pass that would look good for the President. Despite the fact that it would have helped the Veterans coming home from a decade of war that Bush made....these are the facts, you can't lie them away no matter how much you double talk. Look up the facts and find the truth, things are improving but it won't happen overnight.....
Republicans should be ousted by Independents and are somewhat. They are a disgrace to a multicultural America. Mostly Old white men that want to determine what everybody else in America settles for while they prosper and protect their own fortunes. Our ruling white class is falling out of favor and they are fighting back mightily with their money and lies. When the masses have had enough they rebel as they have throughout history. You see evidence of this in other countries today. Let us just hope we can rebel with the vote come November. Why is it that most financial support for Romney comes from the rich and powerful? Why not the masses of Americans? Hmmmm...puzzling? Can it be he only represents the rich and powerful? Naaaaaaaa! He says he can create jobs and wealth for the World! Just ship jobs overseas to sweatshops like he did. Keep your money out of country...why support America...right?
Ronni....May I suggest you do your own research? That's what I do. Go to politico and see what is said there and then go to their web sites and read what each says. I did it. And I have made up my mind on who to vote for this November. One candidate lies and flip flops answers depending on who he is addressing. The other is clear. You decide who you want.
Well My favorite moment was When Ryan was describing the fact that reducing taxes was tried before on 2 different occasions, Ronald Reagon and John F Kennedy and sgtated it was tried before. Biden stated it has NEVER been tried before. In 1962, JFK, Dempocrats president of the united states at the time delivered a speach stating that " reducing taxes and reduction in spending does enhance economic groweth". Biden interupted because it doesnt fit the agenda of creating a WELFARE STATE and if fact, following JFK and Reagon will enhance grotweth..Bit this isnt what Oabama wants because he is so intent on creating and maintaining a WELFARE STATE...
With respect to the Benghazi Attacks. Biden Doubled down on the "It was the movie and not a terrist attack" falsehood provded by the admiinstration. In the face of a security counsel investigation the day before . that clearly stated there were several requests for more marine detachment support and saying THEY, Biden, DID NOT.Y KNOW about it ?? That is either a huge lie to coverup the fact or total incompetance and show total lack of leadership. The Lie because the attack does not support their view that Bin Laden is DEAD and AL QEADA is diminish when it is clear that that policy has totally blown up in there face just before an election. This isnt what thay want to they lie to the people of this country..Blatantly..Or are totally incompetant as leaders and they bassically jksit through the intellegence commnity under the bus to keep their story alive...Obama and the democrat foreign policy is a total failure..You cannmot lead frm behind..Appeasement and weakness does not work..It does not work BAD !!!!!!
Oh and about Biden claim the numbers dont add up...
1. Headline: Princeton Economist Princeton professor Harvey Rosen: Obama Campaign Is Misrepresenting My Study on Romney's Tax Plan.
2. According to the Tax Policy Center, we start out with an $86 billion hole in Romney's tax plan. But the Tax Policy Center's own calculations show that that $86 billion hole can, in fact, be filled without raising middle class taxes.
TPC's study assumes that pro-growth tax reform cannot produce any economic growth. TPC acknowledges that, according to an economic model created by Harvard professors Greg Mankiw and Matthew Weinzerl that assumes tax reform will produce economic growth, "the tax cuts would result in revenue reductions of $307 billion (instead of $360 billion)." In other words, economic growth could fill $53 billion of that $86 billion hole.
Stop believing the garbage your getting from MSNBC....This Economist was selected by Obama...
